  1. I was responding to (thus quoting) your rhetorical question. With Gore at running back and our 245 lb. manchild at QB, we have excellent 4th and 1 options. That actually proved itself as we never got to 4th and 1. Going for it (if necessary) would have been our safest, most foolproof option for victory.
  2. Love that logic. Let's just not take the field...we might lose!
  3. Absolutely. We are made for 4th and 1. To kick a field goal would have been a bad statement to the team.
  4. Exactly, I've spent the whole week thinking, "But, I don't want Knox and Sweeney to get less time". I hope Kroft is ok, and that he becomes a quality contributor. However, I'm not upset.
  5. Lee Smith is one of our highly respected veterans who are here to teach and lead their younger teammates. Here, he comments (in The Athletic) on Ford's penalty: “That’s why we drafted Cody Ford in the second round,” Smith said. “That’s why everybody in this locker room loves him. He’s a dog. He’s a bar-fight kind of guy. These dudes are grown-ass men. They ain’t a bunch of sissy-ass linemen on this team. As a young player, he just needs to understand that there’s a line, but by all means, you defend your quarterback. Nobody messes with our quarterback.” Summed up well. The whining over Ford's actions is silly.
  6. I actually didn't have an issue with the discipline aspect of it. We were in control of the game and the only real threat was the Giants getting frustrated and cheap. The fifteen yard penalty was almost irrelevant. I cheered, feeling Ford read the situation and responded like a true veteran.
  7. No Flames. I see this as our template. My view of 2019 is that our D will consistently perform between good and very good, with occasional excellence. With that foundation, our offense has room to grow and an opportunity to propel us into the playoffs.
  8. I think you're living in the past. They HAD garbage for talent: - 2017 We were projected to tank. We went to the playoffs. - 2018 We fielded a team using ~65% of a salary cap, finishing 6-10. This year, we are fielding a full team, with a project QB beginning to develop. McDermott has overachieved so far and can be held to a higher level of accountability beginning now. Um, in my humble opinion.
  9. Thank you. That term gave me my best laugh of the morning.
  10. Are you going to beat him up and take his lunch money?
  11. You Sir, are a lucky man. ? Much respect.
  12. All true professionals are going to (at least in public) take responsibility for errors. I don't know what really happened. But, I am glad to see Morse taking ownership. I imagine Allen (haven't heard his comments on it) is too. Good teammates.
  13. The jury is still out on Beasley, for me. I have not thought much of his "The Cowboys didn't respect me" whining. And, today he was not good. I hope he makes my concerns look silly. But, at the moment, I have them.
  14. Today, the Bills defense gave up eight points and (about) 245 yards. Might it be more appropriate to simply say, "Well done!"?
  15. I noticed this. Every time Bell made a play, I thought it was for a big gain and was surprised when I saw 2nd and 6, or 3rd and 5. I think the other factor about his runs is that he starts so far behind the line of scrimmage and uses such patience, his 7 yard (mesmerizing is a good word here) run is really only a gain of four. As for the Bills, it helped that we really flew to the ball today. While our tackling could have been better, we definitely swarmed.
  16. "nice, wet, and juicy..." Oh dear...
  17. This is fair and I think Allen would be the first to agree with you. He sure knows how to get back up when he's been knocked down.
  18. Yes, the offensive line had some moments they would like to get back. I still am very optimistic with this group. Let's keep in mind: - This was the first game (as has been mentioned) with a totally overhauled group. - The Jets D-line (as has been mentioned) is very good. - Morse missed the entire preseason. I think this is really big for the entire group. The O-line plays as a team and he is their leader. I expect them to get much better and quickly. I think we are going to like our O-line this season.
  19. Cole Beasley has been a disappointment today.
  20. Ha, ha, ha...you just couldn't wait to get that out. You must be a riot at parties.
  21. I see this as an early sign that the Jets are focused on containing Allen, keeping him in the pocket.
  22. How do I give this a thumbs up, laugh and Super Bowl Trophy all at once?
  23. What part of your quote, "If the Bill's fail, everything I have heard from Beane leads me to believe he will throw everyone under the bus he can to blame for the failure before himself." Is out of context? That is just a very wrong thing to say. When talking about last year's early season QB mess, Beane took responsibility acknowledging he did not bring Anderson in immediately. When talking about Shady's lack of production last year, Beane took responsibility, saying he didn't do a good job bringing in the necessary parts on offense. Beane criticizes his own performance regularly, owning it. Meanwhile, you slime him him with, "I believe he will throw everyone under the bus". If if it makes you feel better calling me a dork for calling that out....yeah, I'll accept that.
  24. Wow, that is harsh. That is a flat out character assault. I have seen nothing from Beane to predict that potential behavior. And, I have to be honest. Tossing that statement out blindly, without justification, leaves me with no respect for your opinion.
