One More Comeback - Frank Reich
USABuffaloFan replied to flopagamo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah I remember he drafted Tebow and got lucky, Tebow and him are gone the following year, tough luck. McDaniel would not have a name if it wasn't for Belichek and Tom Brady. Allot of coaches leave NE and fail! -

Wasn't McDaniels replaced as HC in Denver, fired by Elway? Marv Levy said he was one of the brightest minds he met, one of the best characters and a huge reason Kelly could run the No Huddle Offense. -

Wilson didn't believe in doing that. Haslett was a good coach at one time, we had a shot at him. I think the time is right, those players are in their 50's and ready and mature. Reed is coaching to. I think Reich would be in the mold of a Levy, he should not be a coordinator too. I always like Philips too, if it wasn't for the ST coach Ronnie? I think Philips would have gotten Bills to another Superbowl, wouldn't have quit(fired). -

Notice Kirby doesn't put his choices up, he only criticizes others thoughts. He was agreeing on Lynn as HC, hasn't even developed his own offense yet, used Romans. Tasker may be a stretch but Philips is DC in Denver and contract up. Reich has been a coach since mid 2000's, QB, WR and OC. Unless you bringing in McDaniel who has more experience leading. -

He is not trying to be your Coordinator. Marv was a Special Teams Coach. What you have to look at is, does he understand what a good team looks like, Yes, he played on one. Is he a motivator, Yes, he led the largest comeback in his day at college and the NFL, NFL still sticks. Has he been a leader, yes as OC and QB. The biggest thing for Frank will be getting top DC and OC to come with him. I think he could be the perfect candidate. Sometimes we look at things the wrong way! HC Reich DC Philips/Assist HC OC Lynn, if Reich approves ST Tasker -

Why didn't they get those interviews yesterday or early this morning? Seems to me, two owners were covering up for a really bad press conference. That is because Jets get new people and the Bills got Rex. -

Kelly often would go up 21-? and team would run the rest of the game. Some of the balls were TD's the other way too. He was Machine Gun Kelly for a reason, later years he slowed down allot. He always out performed Marino, that is all I care. -

AP John Wawrow interview with Terry Pegula
USABuffaloFan replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is telling information here. Pegulas took the meetings through the year with Whaley and made a decision on the fly to summarize his thoughts and fire a HC 1 week left in the year without informing the GM. Terry is the Owner and the President and doesn't need to communicate to his subjects. He then listens to the man he is firing and promotes OC Lynn for interim HC. They have a briefing with Whaley after that and in 1 session lay this out to Lynn who then throw him out on the Podium to answer to the media. NO PROBLEM! -

" I had seasons from 1985 to 1997, Section J2 row 25 seats 105 and 106. Pretty high up but could see everything. I had no doubt Kelly was good. He was throwing 30 TD's even when he got here. " He was throwing 30 TD's even when he got here. That means before he became a Buffalo Bills. i was actually wrong, he was throwing 40+ a year. My point being made was, I knew Kelly was a gun slinger and had an excellent shot at taking Bills to the promise land. You made a whole scene about this, why? I said nothing wrong. -

Your 62 years old, I am 51. The last time Bills were in the playoffs was before 9/11, before I moved to Iowa and left Rochester NY, Clinton was in office. That is a long time ago. Pegulas want a reset, I can give them a few years but they are on their 3rd coach already. The way I see them finishing this year is by firing a HC with a week left, benching the starting QB and giving the least experienced coordinator the interim HC position. Arguably they played one of the most embarrassing games they have played since Pegulas have own the team. They are no where for the end of year press conference after all this happens and their GM has no idea what happened leading up to todays press conference. That doesn't come across as if they have a idea where to take this team, crazy me. I still want to be breathing when they get to the playoffs and not in depends, crazy me! -

Yeah Wayne, the Bills need to SPIN better the 17 years of the NE Patriots keeping the Bills from becoming a better team and bullying them every year. Where is the Bills participation award for showing up to every game the past 17 years. Shame on the NFL for not helping the Bills become a better team and giving them a lottery top 5 pick so they can have a franchise QB. Shame, Shame, Shame! -

Thanks for making some sense. From allot of people on this site, they think this is normal behavior. If you don't own the team you have no right to critize what is happening. A few of the people were telling me to go back to school so I could get a job with the Bills. Why so I can get fired! Common sense is gone these days, either that or people are hurting so bad they just lash out. -

"In two seasons in Houston leading offensive coach Mouse Davis's run-and-shoot offense, Kelly threw for 9,842 yards and 83 touchdowns, completing 63% with an average of 8.53 yards per attempt with 45 interceptions. He was the USFL MVP in 1984, when he set a league record with 5,219 yards passing and 44 TD passes." -

They needed Thurman and the other players to fill the team but I had no doubt he was good. Flutie took the Bills to 10-6, then 10-5. He made Moulds a star. I won't bash him and actually at the time was Ok with Rob Johnson starting, he was the future. After the fact, big mistake, team was behind Flutie. -

Whaley has been around since 2010, how much time does he need to get us to the playoffs? Yeah, they got embarrassed on national news. The point is the Bills screw up in colossal fashion. Please read this carefully, No other professional sport franchise playing today has not been to the playoffs as long as the Buffalo Bills. What were you doing 17 years ago? I was eating my Flutie Flakes! -

If you don't need information, it bodes the question why are you on a blog, just to irritate people? I expect decent PR information, a sense that the staff left in place can handle the communication to the fans how they will proceed. I don't expect well I wasn't there. Why do I need to know that, the owner asked me to accept what he said. How about this famous line, "What difference does it make now" Keep the blinders, i chose to decide wether or not my entertainment money continues to funnel through the NFL. If i decide no Bills, then it will also be no NFL! -

To a core, they absolutely hate losing, only thing they care about is getting to the playoffs. Their hires didn't get the job done. In SF case neither did GM and HC. -

Been watching NFL Network all day and seen every team but the Bills talk about why the team President or GM fired someone. No where did I see it was the owner, except the Bills. The people that made the decision where the ones doing the Press Conference. Maybe you shouldn't be posting so much and actually go out and see what the real world is doing. Just a thought. -

Most other teams are at least functioning as an organization trying to get to the playoffs every year. There is a trust built up with their fans. If a mistake is made and they move on you trust they will make the right decisions. Why should Bills fans trust this organization? The Bills have not earned that with 17 years without going to the playoffs. You can trust them all you want but have no right to tell me I should, I don't! -
