Bills Decline 5th Year Option on Sammy Watkins
USABuffaloFan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Watkins has a good year he is not gone, just costs us about 3mil/yr more which is a good gamble. It is called a Franchise tag. Your whole statement is based on health which Watkins in the past 2 years has failed to show much. If they had made the 5th year option and Watkins never comes back from foot injury then they would have gambled wrong and cost the team 13mil dollas. In my mind it is better to be wrong and cost only 3 mil more than wrong and lose 13 million. Really is just simple math! It is called protecting one's position, if Watkins becomes that good he will be worth, 13mil, around 15mil following year and last year of tagging 20-25mil (QB) money. Bills own him if they want to pay for a "healthy WR". They have to settle the QB position 1st. Watkins position with health concerns is he will want to sign a long term agreement if he gets lucky to be healthy next year and puts up great numbers. Going year to year is not something Watkins can afford to do! -
Brett Tessler @TesslerSports Jordan Johnson (RB, Buffalo) is signing w/the Buffalo Bills despite offers from several other teams.. Great opportunity w/his hometown team! http://www.rotoworld.com/player/cfb/135081/ http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/keith-towbridge?id=2558789 Keith Towbridge TE signs Tennessee TE Jason Croom http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=122565&draftyear=2017&genpos=WR

I think the Kelly Family deserves the benefit of doubt. Strong family and Chad's cousins would definitely be there to make sure he doesn't cause any issues. the whole city would have a hotline to his family if there were any bad sightings!

What is a GOONER?

This shows Bills ARE relevant. This guy is a top OC. We have a good coaching staff, Whaley and players have no excuses now.

Wanna dump Tyrod, then who's the new QB

Close the website down till April1. Apparently we need to look up old chats that may have covered this information. I guess the fact Rivers wants out isn't important. -
Money talks!

Nobody hated Gailey either, he just didn't know how to HC.
-
Anybody up for Gailey, his offenses weren't the problem. He got 1200 yards and 6.0 yards a carry from CJ Spiller. Imagine what he could do with McCoy.

No, No, No

What your talking about is him trusting timing patterns and releasing the ball before a player gets to the position. He too often as a pocket passer waited. In the West Coast he will be on the move immediately and either keeping the ball, handing it off or turning and throwing it to a set player. The calls will come from the sidelines and he will execute. In a spread he will have time in the shotgun to view his options. He will look at the defense and make a choice. He then has to watch the snap and go to that play. If he is no huddling he can adjust his snap count cause he has time till he knows where he is going. Pro game at the line requires huddle and then at the line making quick decisions, line call changes and a fast release. He is not a Pro Set QB.

Good article. College stays in the spread. NFL uses it, Kelly used the spread with 4-5 receivers in the No Huddle and gave draws to Thurman. He also linedup at the line. I think this would work with Travis if we keep him. Childress could be another Marcabrodia for the Bills. hope they get him. The fact that Tyrod has a winning record as starting QB is why I made the statement. Your statement is to draft a QB and making them a starter right away. We have done that too with Losman and EJ. So how is your statement SMARTER than mine. Who is the QB you think we can draft 10th over all that your sure will be better someday than even Tyrod or may get to be a franchise QB? Easy to make bold statements but back yours up at least a little bit. I have the Bills past and Tyrods present play in one system to back what I say. I am sure Tyrod can be better in a West Coast or Spread offense that uses his athletism.
-
What are you talking about, West Coast offense is play action. QB is on the move rolling out, handing off, etc. Have to be smart and quick thinking. Taylor isn't a pocket passer, not comfortable going through progressions. In the West Coast his choices will occur quick. Who will they get as QB in this draft that is ready right away. When I say ready, better than Tyrod was last two years.

Would we take Chip Kelly for OC?

You would lose McCoy's loyalty if you did this. My answer is NO WAY! -
One More Comeback - Frank Reich

I also forgot Mallett and Hoyer, not many good QB's coming out of NE that also were under Brady. I think Cassell was the best, he had two good wins seasons, 1 with NE and other with KC. -

Remember Cromwell, think that was his name, that didn't go well. McDaniel hasn't developed anyone, Brady was established already, Cassell ended up nobody, Garapolo, no thanks. Don't want to knock him but he has a easy job with Brady there. Funny Bills haven't ask to interview him, they can next week cause they are on a bye. They were shut out by the Bills and that OC was fired a week or two later
