Show me the Experts. Just no way, even 2004 couldn't do that and that is a awesome draft. Opps, 86 is when Kelly played for Bills. I lived in NE for 10 years but from Buffalo. Than the Giants will, Cleveland wants him it will be with 1st pick. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2018/mock-drafts http://walterfootball.com/draft2018.php https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2018/01/03/2018-nfl-mock-draft-first-round-sam-darnold-josh-rosen/997200001/

Barkley will not get past Indy
-
Not true, Brady, Cousins, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Wilson, Foles, Wendt, Brees, Staton, Flacco, Taylor, Dalton, McCown, Cutler, Keenum, Carr, Garoppolo all where starters this past year 10th pick or later Ryan, Newton, Trubisky, Stafford, Bortles, Rivers, Manning, Winston, Mariota, Luck Top 5 picks starting/ hurt this year, It could be said the better QB's are not in the Top 5. I would take Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, over any of the Top 5 in list. Outside of Luck and maybe Rivers I would take Cousins, Wilson, Carr, Garoppolo over the other QB's in the Top 5.

Have to see what they get next week to decide the risk taken. If they land McCown or Keenum then risk need not be taken. If Moore is grabbed than maybe you want to get the high talented Baker. I have been calling for huge choices, Cousins, Luck or Rivers. You want to play in AFC EAst you must play BIG! If you blow it then start over the next 2 years. He is like Flutie, guys that win that noone wants. Outside of Bledsoe when have we gone for it after that. Whaley started that collection, McDermott changed that by winning and going to the playoffs. Whaley thought we would be in top 10 of 1st pick, not 21st. Now you have a chance and getting great players, good project QB and a veteran that can play for a year at least. Why squander the better odds. Tell me if you get Price and/or Daniels, Evans LB, Rudolph/Jackson in top 4 picks, possible moving up with a 3rd pick. If you get McCown or Keenum in free agency how are you not better than last year. We have a chance at special or we can throw it all away because we HAVE to have a Franchise QB 1st pick high.
-
NE got lucky with Brady a 6th round pick, they had Bledsoe a 1st over all pick who was fading. Yes a Franchise QB sustains winning long term but getting one isn't by moving up to top of draft wasting picks. You want a shot at Franchise QB's you need to be in Top of draft for 2-3 years. Cleveland has done that and failed. They now have a shot but a fall back guy too. They will draft running back then their QB, it makes sense to have a sure pick with 1 of the top 4 QB's. No One gets up to the top of the draft from 21 without giving up too much.
-
That is because your going after unknown quantities. Want to up your odds, go sign Moore, then sign Cousins, draft Jackson or Rudolph. Draft Price or Daniels as Center. Keep Glenn move to RT. Groy to RG. In second Round get LB, DE. 3rd Round DT, CB. Go to camp and may the best guys play. Now you have gotten better. Somewhere in those four QB's after camp have your for sure starter, Backup and future.

What have Bills done for QB's Losman, EJ, Edwards. Free Agents or trades, Fitz, Orton, Cassell, Bledsoe, Taylor. I would not call this Good tries. Outside of Bledsoe, where did we ever really get a true Number 1 talent guy in here. Bills have a shot at Qb's 10th pick on, sit back and see what happens. If they want guarantees, Cousins can play, pay to play. Trade for Rivers or Luck, bet they can be gotten. Don't use Buffalo as what to do or don't do for QB's. We rarely risk anything for QB's. Bledsoe and Rob were guys we gave up 1st picks for. Kelly, Losman and EJ the QB's we drafted with 1st picks. That is not a great track record. What don't you understand about how many QB's don't make it drafted in the 1st round high. None of these guys are Luck or Manning. Want better odds, get a valid veteran like McCown, draft a guy in late 1st or second round and another guy in 4th and later. Have a wide open camp. Then maybe you have gotten someone better than Taylor for next year. Even that is a 50/50% chance at best. The only sure way is maybe Cousins, trading for Rivers or Luck. There is no other way.

Explain Eagles this year, than Giants who beat Brady with Defense twice. You don't get to Superbowl without defense and win. By the way Brady is a 6th round pick. Wilson was a 3rd round pick. Aaron Rodgers 17th pick, Ben R was 11th pick. Drew Brees was selected 32nd overall. Brett Favre was selected 33 overall. That is allot of Superbowls won by QB's not in the Top 5 picks. I seem to remember Ray Lewis winning Baltimore a Superbowl, how about Reggie White, Mike Singletary, Mike Strahan, Lawrence Taylor. Could be argued Bruce Smith was more important than Jim Kelly. How do you explain Giants beating Bills in Superbowl XXV with a backup QB. Sorry, no guarantee you draft a Franchise QB by moving up in draft. Just as possible getting one later in draft. What remains consistent is you need quality players throughout your team. Payton learned that so did Elway, Favre and Rodgers.
-
I don't think you understand how this works. Usually only 1 QB pans out in the 1st round taken, all others are career backups or more often out of the league. 2004 and 1986 are the exceptions. There are a few years 2 guys make it but that is very rare too. So how are you sure your landing your franchise QB, just by selecting high 1st rounders. Aaron Rodgers and Roethlisberger were selected after the 10 spot with many QB's taken before hand. How do you know jackson isn't the next Cam Neely? or Rudolph the next Wilson? Your philosophy is why Cleveland sucks! You couldn't be more wrong!!!!!
-
Buffalo gives up all 4 picks in first 2 rounds for 1st pick overall. Buffalo selects drum roll please, Saquon Barkley Buffalo then trades Saquon Barkley for Luck from Indy, Indy drafts Baker.
-
But your reasoning is exactly why you don't move up. You won't know if you missed for 3-4 years. You will know within one year if you hit big. That is allot of risk to give picks up for those odds. Unless a Luck or Manning is sitting there you don't do this.
-
They have the 4th pick, they get 1 of the 4 QB's anyway. That just means they must have the RB, Taylor is starting anyway. There is no clear #1 QB.
-
I would be pissed if Bills gave up both 1st this year for this group. No way!!!!! Maybe 21st and next years 1st but not both this year. QB is a gamble pick either way, 80% chance he is not your starter in 3 years.

Interesting article on the last 17 years QB drafts

You make it happen if you think that QB gets you deep in the playoffs. If you keep the players you have, add a few free agents. Give Indy 2 1st rounders one this year one next and both 2nds. Are we a playoff team with 1 st, 2 - 3rd pics. Hard to say this year but next when we get $80 mil in cap we definitely could be. We have a line if we get a Center with our 22nd pick, gave 21st to Indy. Groy becomes RG, Glenn RT, Price or Daniels Center. 3rd picks get DT and middle linebacker. Go get speed WR in free agency. Tyrod gives $10 mil back, Luck is 4 years 84mil left, he adds 12mil to what we were spending still leaves money to get guys. Question is would Indy do this for 2-1st and 2-2nds. I think yes, they are 2-3 years away and have 3rd pick, Luck is 29. If it was me I would make the call, lay the trade down and let Indy think about it. Your not stuck if you let player go before Free Agency, you eat that money that year. If you were foolish to guarantee all the money that is your fault. Your choice if you want to spread out the signing bonus or go cash to cap. either way, draft picks are cheap now. Just forces you to go that route. -

We had no problem getting rid of Mario but he wasn't a flop, Rex was. He played great for 3 years with 10 plus sacks. You are completely wrong about money and picks. What hurts is when you do BOTH wrong, you WIN by doing both right. You can come back from bad contracts by drafting well. If you draft poorly you end up wasting money buying players. Foles, Alex Smith, Fitz, Favre, Brady. Outside of Brady these guys played for someone else and teams seen what they did picked them up and won with them to the playoffs. Always better watching for good QB's that have played before. Even Orton was a play or 2 away from getting Buffalo to the playoffs. Pick the right guys and magic can happen. -

Well spoken! I was praying he would drop, yelling for Buffalo to move up. I was also screaming for Buffalo not to draft Losman, not a LA surf QB. Losman had skills but somehow they ruined him. I remember a Houston come from behind where he hit 2 - 80 yard passes all in the air right on the mark. That is talent wasted. -

That is not what I said. I would gamble $30mil/yr and go for Cousins. I would gamble all 4 top picks if Indy would give me Luck. You win with Pedigree. Maybe you can pry, Rivers away with next years 1st and a 2nd rounder, what about Brees, Wilson, Rodgers. What is the Price, we have the pics. I would not gamble 4 picks on any of the QB's in this draft. I would take Jackson with 22nd or Rudolph in 2nd. Maybe there is a gem in 3rd round or later. Gamble picks for proven commodities, that is how you might have a shot. Teams value QB picks too much. Team's are made in the draft but by picking lineman late 1st round and later. Once in a while you get a JJ Watt. -

Thanks for the article too, very interesting. Brings reality to picking QB's. If you suck, do your homework, you might have a shot at a starter. Yes, not sure if he stayed in league he still would be here though. He just was a terrible thrower. Awesome football player but this is the NFL. Thank you for using reason, like your take. Some of it matters were you end up. If RGIII landed were a QB is taken care of, who knows. Shannon was stupid keeping RGIII in the game. Worse move on a QB ever. Shame! -

No you don't, odds are you lose. You wait and grab I guy at your picks or go get a proven guy. If your gonna gamble QB gamble money, it is replaceable. -

I think Foles knows who he is, too many QB's available, large QB class. if he is stubborn or Philly is stubborn he will be their backup or cut. If cut he will be below a few QB's on the high money list. Keenum has better stats. Bradford a better pedigree. Foles fit with draft in place as a starter is maybe two teams. Buffalo may be his safest place if Buffalo wants him given we pick 21st. Miami picks 11th, that guy is playing. I would do it to save using our picks to move up. Draft a QB 22nd or 2nd round. 21st pick I would get Evans and actually 22nd pick I would get Price or the Daniels, top 2 Center/Guard. Groy would be RG and backup. Ducasse sits as backup. Second I would grab QB Rudolph and a DT. Third I would get speed at WR and a CB. If Buffalo doesn't go for Cousin's and blow money they may try to get DE and speed at WR. I was already to bash you till I looked up his stats. Better passer than Tyrod but not as good a run now with a questionable knee. He is a 80 rating QB which in today's passing game is average. he throws more TD's then INT but not better than Taylor. He is a BIG no to me as a backup or starter now. Bills will know this, he isn't worth a look. not sure why I thought he threw for 4000 yards in a season. Better have a backup plan, happens rarely not usually sitting at 21st pick. There is no sure 1st pick starter this year. Even Cleveland got their starter just in case from Buffalo. We need to aim higher than Tyrod's stats which says allot. We need a QB that can throw 3500-4000 yards. Only way to compete in the AFC East. -

Holmes had a off year but has hit 10+ sacks multiple times. Lawson is a 1st pick with talent and is only 25 years old. Benjamin if healthy is a number one wideout. Just because Williams and Incognito are old doesn't make them useless or not worthy players. They are cogs on this team and very much why they won 9 games. Your outlook is strange to say the least. I am not claiming a legitimate playoff team, neither was Jacksonville, easy division. But this team had 6 picks in top 3 rounds, Last years draft will be one year older, Lawson and Washington are still learning. The fact is we are a QB away from a 10-11 win season.
