I agree........I think he needs to be lined up at the LOS and rushing the passer to reach his potential. No reason for a guy that talented to not be producing big plays. And the longer they wait the less time he has to develop. The 5th year option is only guaranteed for injury so they probably have to pick it up regardless. It would be a major slap in the face to not pick that up after they chose to make him a MLB and then all the smoke they've blown up his azz about how great he is. Can't pay a player $15M+ per season to do a job at the same level that an AJ Klein can do though.

Yep he's advanced from Dawson Drops to Knox-it-down.

If healthy Stills brings some veteran savvy, excellent deep ball tracking and decent contested catch skill to the Z or X position. The past couple weeks Allen has thrown the best deep balls of his career. Unfortunately Gabe Davis hasn't been very efficient on contested deep tosses. He had one where he unnecessarily left his feet to catch a ball on the sidelines and got pushed out.............and he has had a couple where I thought he showed his inexperience when he he was in position to draw a couple PI calls at least and didn't do enough to sell it. If they get in a track meet where they can't give away a possession Stills experience might really help.

Bills host WR Tanner Gentry for visit.
BADOLBILZ replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah at this point it's clear that they can't run the ball well until they've worn out or demoralized a defense by passing all over them for 3 quarters..........so no point denying the strength. I'm guessing Josh has been throwing to Gentry in offseasons as well as their time in Wyoming so if they are going to pick up a guy who might have to fill in if the whole starting WR corps gets put in covid protocol or some 2020 sh*t like that.....then it absolutely makes sense. Might be something there too. Futures contracts usually start getting signed in the next couple weeks. -
It's concerning..........especially after guys like Shill Capaccio and Bullfrog have been going on for a month about how hard the people in the ticket office have been working all season to get to this moment. Like they had every detail buttoned up but were just waiting patiently for NYS.🙄 That said the ticket issues are obviously nothing like the chaos that it was back in the 80's and early 90's for playoff games.......... but frankly some uncertainty on day one of the announcement of fans being allowed is a first world problem in 2020. Especially if you are local. Which is kinda' who they want to show up for the game.........they obviously don't want people traveling in from all over the country they want locals who they can track and potentially limit spread. My group has a bunch of accounts dating back into the 60's and 80's and all the way thru to the early 90's...........I know one of the early 90's accounts has been emailed an appointment to purchase tickets so guessing I will be there but if not so be it.

I’m seeing 12+ wins for this team...

It should go beyond saying to never open any kind of social media interaction with "your words don't affect me" type statements..........it sends the exact opposite message whether you intend it to or not. What I see having read thru this thread is that @GunnerBill really nailed some very specific predictions. This is proof of the value inherent in actually understanding the details of your hobby. You put a number out there @eball........but Vegas line complaint is marshmallow soft. The Bills o/u pre-2019 was 6.5 and they won 10. And what Bills fan didn't figure them to be much improved? I don't blame you for not wanting to take A bet on TSW.........but to make THAT excuse over a tiny wager shows a woeful courage/conviction ratio..........and you missed a big opportunity for a tangible win over @C.Biscuit97 in particular. He was a legit doubter. FWIW I have had every score and result predicted accurately thru 15 games but I was too busy working on my sun tan when you started this thread so you'll have to just assume I was right(as usual). -

Goin' broke when you're that well-off ain't as easy as it used to be. Kinda' like staying bad in the NFL........the system is set up quite explicitly to prevent that. But if this dude has been betting on the Patriots against the Bills he's been cashing winning tickets for about 20 years. This might have been just a case of "trusting the process" one game too long.
-
Everything. We've been real-talking the Bills here for 20 plus years so you aren't going come in and stay "stop doing that" and have any more success than Barkley had on that pass to Beasley. Don't care how long you think you've been a fan.............that's a personal matter subject to interpretation..........the absolute is that this place has been here since 1998 and if you didn't find it until now you were either doing time or not trying very hard.

So he couldn't pull the trigger? Like Buddy Nix with Russell Wilson in round 3? How bad could the "true odds" be? There's only 16 possible records a team can finish with to start with........and the Bills were the Vegas favorite to win the division. -
Unlimited PS elevations for playoffs

Who's gonna' pay all those guys active roster money???? Ralph is rolling around in his grave and Mike Brown is just glad he missed the playoffs. -
Or you can just think about reasonable scenarios to discuss on a message board and do it? It's entertainment..........if your first thought is that thinking about potential obstacles for the team to deal with makes you depressed..........then you probably need to take up a less competitive, non-zero-sum hobby..........like following Phish around on tour.

I've been good.......you on the other hand, are a newb who just showed up here when the team started winning and now wants to defend every player's honor because you think it legitimizes your fandom. It don't. There is plenty of room on the bandwagon...........but sometimes poor play is going to get called out in a forum where the team's performance gets dissected. Getting one of your starting WR's injured with a pathetic throw happens to be one of them. And considering Barkley's appearances the past couple of seasons his poor relief work has become commonplace. It's pretty clear that Barkley can't hold the team together for a few games if Allen is out and that's what a #2 QB has to do so you might wanna' cancel that Barkley jersey order. Josh just needs to stay healthy and the WR corps just needs to take note and make business decisions when Barkley is throwing them into harms way in garbage time.

Oh my God..........I gotta' read this doozy. @C.Biscuit97.........the "most wrong" poster in the history of this board getting into it with the broken clock @eball(right twice every 24 years). And did eebs then fail to put money down on a bet he would have actually won? Say it ain't so!!😆😆😆 -
He was open and Barkley just missed a short throw by 10 feet. If people can curse Knox for dropping perfectly thrown passes when he's wide open we should hold the guy throwing the ball to some similar standard at the very least. There are throws that you simply can't miss badly in a certain spot. Behind the receiver on that play was one of them. Beasley instinctively slams on the brakes because Barkley had for all intents just thrown a returnable interception. If you are going to miss that throw miss it out in front. But that's what bad QB's do...........we should know we've seen enough of them.
-
Kickers are fragile..........I'd rather he stay under the radar. Younghoe was 8 of 8 from 50........got the pro bowl nod........then promptly lost the game for Atlanta Sunday by basically shanking an extra point distance field goal. The look on his face was worth a thousand words........the nod got in his noggin'.

Not even a little.

Those two Bills teams that lead the NFL in rushing also lead the NFL in chunk plays both years too. The Ravens using the same style of offense lead the NFL in scoring by a lot last season. It's about being able to pass the ball. A lot is made of needing to run the ball in the playoffs...........but run defense is mostly about want-to and technique.......and in the playoffs teams elevate their effort so it's harder to consistently run the football in the playoffs.
-
He's neither been excellent against the pass or run this season. His 116 passer rating and 4 TD passes allowed this season are very poor. His effort and execution on that Cam Newton touchdown run was just embarrassing.............he should have put Cam on his shell there. But it's not like there are tons of good off-ball LB's in the NFL.........it's a devalued position and MOST of the really good ones are in the NFC. So ultimately the big issue is the lack of plays he makes on the football. Turnover differential is the most reliably decisive stat this side of the actual scoreboard and if you don't have a nose for the ball you aren't going to be a difference maker. His lack of forced or collected turnovers over the course of 3 full seasons is astonishing considering the opportunities. He's just not proven instinctive enough as an off-ball LB for his play to match his physical skill.
