A.S. Jenkins jets visit
voodoo poonani replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Greg Peshek, ASJ had the fewest drops of all the top TEs and Ebron had the highest. http://www.rotoworld.../out-of-the-box I see someone beat me to it, good work NoSaint! -
If We Pass on Ebron .... We Will Regret it

I'd rather take ASJ in the 2nd. He has way fewer drops and can be an in-line run-blocking TE as well. -
Metrics articles by Greg Peshek

After reading the article, I'm very curious about ASJ. I think he'll be there in the second, and if we go with an OT in the first I think there is a good chance we grab him. The Bills keep saying this is a "QB driven league", but Hackett seems to me to be a run-first OC. You get two guys in the top two rounds that can greatly help your run game, and a potential up-the-seam threat. We could see a lot of two TE sets like NE was doing, but we would probably run more out of them. -

IS JIM SCHWARTZ A DINOSAUR???
voodoo poonani replied to DOGNESS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wasn't always the front four. Although seeing Dareus drop back in coverage terrified me. I think he did defend one pass though... -
IS JIM SCHWARTZ A DINOSAUR???
voodoo poonani replied to DOGNESS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't forget how many three and outs wore out the defense. I'm not trying to be doom and gloom. I just said I'm concerned. My preference would have been to keep Pettine and our players would have the same scheme to grow in. That said I know we couldn't keep him, and Schwartz was the consolation prize. There isn't anybody else I wanted at the time. Since then we've heard a ton of talk about getting there with just 4. That puts a ton of pressure on our secondary and exposes it. I think our secondary needs pressure to be successful. So I'm concerned they'll be burned a lot. I hope I'm wrong. September can't get here fast enough. -

IS JIM SCHWARTZ A DINOSAUR???
voodoo poonani replied to DOGNESS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I share the OP's concern. There has been a lot of talk about getting there with just the front four. DW did the same thing and it was a disaster, one of the worst defenses ever. Pettine's exotic looks got us the most sacks ever. I really hope we don't take a step back. -
The only player I can see the Bills trading up for is Clowney. That being said, I'd prefer them to trade down than up and getting more picks in the top 100. The question marks surrounding Clowney don't inspire me to give up current and future picks to get him. If we were to stay at 9... IMHO Ebron and Watkins seem totally overrated, and I wouldn't take them at 9. With our receiver corps stacked at the moment, it's not a high priority. A right tackle would be a position to upgrade, but there is depth there and can be done in a later round. My preferred scenario... If someone wants to get one of the QBs, say Manziel is there who Jerry Jones has been rumored to covet, we can have two second round picks to get some good players. What I think they'll do if they trade down: Rd1 - 1) CB Dennard or 2) CJ Mosley or 3) FS Clinton-Dix - Adding another piece to the defense: press corner would be a big boost to our secondary. The Bills had scored a lot of points last year but gave up more. Addressing the secondary or LB corps I think is priority #1. Rd2a - TE Austin Seferian Jenkins or Troy Niklas - both seem to be more of an in-line tight end that this offense uses. ASJ is probably the better blocker. Rd2b - OT Kouandjio - I believe the administration is in love with this guy and will be our starting RT if he's available in round 2. Rd3 - DE Chricton - A development prospect at left end. We've addressed a weakness in the defense, adding a run blocker, and another run blocker who can also stretch the field (who has the hands of a wide-receiver with fewest drops among top TEs). We saw a lot of run up the middle on 1st and 2nd down last season, and I expect more of the same this season. That's just my two cents, let the shredding commence.

2014 NFL Scouting Combine
voodoo poonani replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So many times this past season, the Bills Offense hit a wall in the red zone. I think having Mike Evans as a red zone threat would be a HUGE benefit to us. That said, I wouldn't take him at #9. I'd like either Mack or Barr to shore up our run defense (my top priority). If both are gone, then CB Dennard to boost our secondary. If he falls to #41 I'd snap him up, if not perhaps the safety Pryor is there. It's a big draft class and anything can happen. May seems so far away! -
C.J. Mosley or Khalil Mack
voodoo poonani replied to BillsFan3434's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Barr 2. Mack 3. Mosley If just going by LBs. I think we keep Kiko in the middle and add Barr or Mack to solidify the run D. -
Wow that's weak. Kiko had a far better year than any other nominee.

Pepper Johnson to Bills Staff as D-Line coach
voodoo poonani replied to BRAWNDO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds like a nice pickup. Hopefully all of this additional staff will pay dividends on both O and D. -
I only did 3 rounds but ended up with: Anthony Barr OLB UCLA Kelvin Benjamin WR Florida State Justin Gilbert CB Oklahoma State I doubt this would ever come to fruition, but I would be ecstatic if it did. FS (pay Byrd!) and LG still need tone addressed.

Bills hire Jim Schwartz DC, Todd Downing QB coach
voodoo poonani replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm... Perhaps it was our inability to stop the run that led to this pick. I'm intrigued. On paper it looks good. He's got talent to work with. We'll just have to see what the product on the field is. -
Mike Pettine speculation-interviewing w Cleveland
voodoo poonani replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Will Burge @WillBurge 38m #Browns source mins ago: Only things that could derail Pettine hiring are contract or Malzahn suddenly showing interest. Neither likely -
I'm not sure Mosley is the best LB in this draft. So I went with Dennard.
