Wth is Gilmore injury prone?

I'm one of those pessimistic folks vomiting negativity everywhere, but it's opening day for our Bills and the punch bowl is chilled and filled. Here are some reasons for optimism (ingredients for making Koolaid) today: 1. This team has the most (more?) talent since 2004 (our last winning season) 2. This defense could and should be a top 3 defense! Deep along DL and secondary 3. The Bills have the best and deepest RB corps in the league, and should lead the league in rushing yards and TDs 4. The Bills have a backup QB with a lot of experience (not a shot against EJ) 5. The Bears had one of the worst rushing Ds last season - this is where we need to make hay. Keep their O off the field and score some points. 6. Cutler can be easily rattled when under constant pressure. 7. The Bears D is soft in the middle, the slot WR and TE should be able to net us plenty of first downs in this area 8. We haven't lost a game yet this season

Chiefs country, it's a good day at work when we whoop their asses. I was at the game Gailey dropped 40+ on them. The stadium was empty after halftime. Last year they were gloating because their defense beat our 3rd string QB to stay undefeated.

I don't think I can choose to be upbeat. I am how I am. I get excited not because I want to. It's an emotion. If I "roll around in our own craps" it's because that's my natural response. I can't help it. And I come to this board not to ruin other people's mood (although some might), but I'm expecting to find others of the same feelings and opinions. It's a support group. Umm 14 years and no playoffs. .. kind of hard to get excited. We've been hurt before. I'll still be excited when kickoff happens, but I'm tempering expectations. The D looks good, maybe great! There's a thread on that already. We focus on what's broken not what works. We dance with the girl we brought ... well we're bringing two to the ball.

Safeties look ripe for the picking: If EJ can't take advantage... Never mind there are enough threads on that.

I think the pressure is on the coaches and FO to make the playoffs this year before new ownership takes over. If after the first four games the offense struggles to put up points, he'll be benched. The front half of the season is where we need to make hay to have a chance at playoffs.

Our D will keep us in the first half. Second half they'll get worn out from all the three and outs on offense. Same as what happened often last year.
