Worlds strongest NT
voodoo poonani replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy may be a beast, but his only move is the bull rush. He will need to learn technique in order to be able to contribute on an NFL D-line. -
Phillips / Childress Fired... Singletary on Last Legs
voodoo poonani replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hold your horses, we're not at 7-9 yet. -
We're going to pick him up, and I hope we finally say goodbye to dead weight like McCargo.

I think hands down Mallet is the best QB prospect out there. Luck reminds me too much of Chad Pennington, he's accurate but will float passes out there to be easily intercepted. With that said, Mallet has room to grow. I think we can all agree his arm is phenomenal, he can really put zip on it even if his feet aren't set (which, however, did help lead to those interceptions against Alabama). But he can read defenses, feel pressure, get the ball to his hot reads, and has great pocket awareness. Given time to grow in a system (like Manning did in Indy) he could be elite. Another thing I liked in the Alabama game, when a couple of players were on the field dancing - he pulled them back to the huddle. I think he's mature, wants to win, and knows when to take care of business. Let's hope he falls to us!

ELIMINATE THE MISTAKES
voodoo poonani replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK, a couple things about the interception. First, someone blew their blocking assignment because what the hell was CJ Spiller doing blocking Adam Carriker who I believe is a defensive end. Second, Lee stood there waiting for the ball instead of trying to help his QB by running towards him. If Lee drives to the ball, the worst the play ends up being is incomplete. Third, instead of trying to rip a quick one on a busted play, Trent should have either ran it for a few yards or thrown it away. And Lankster (muffed punt) needs to catch the ball before trying to run with it, and actually should have called for a fair catch. -
Where do you live now and time spent in Buffalo area?
voodoo poonani replied to David D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
born in Lewiston '83 raised in Cambria St. Joe's Collegiate '01 ERAU in Daytona Beach until '05 Wichita, KS - present There are a whole lot of Broncos, Steelers, and Cowboys fans here. Chiefs fans don't bother to show up at the bars to watch the games anymore. About 4-8 Bills fans used to show up to the Buffalo Wild Wings near my house, but only one of them was from Buffalo. -
Spiller planning on holding out?
voodoo poonani replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really hope there is a rookie wage scale in the next CBA. These guys want the world handed to them when they haven't even played a down in the NFL. I don't care where he was drafted, what position he plays, or how long their career lasts. You know how many people would kill for an opportunity like the ones they're gettign? Think of all the unemployed people who got nothing. One year of your contract could feed a lot of people. Shut up, take your deal, show up on time, and do your job and be thankful you have one. -
Trent one of the "strongest arms in the NFL"

my bad, first time I've seen it, thought it was funny. -
Losman Looking Good in Seattle
voodoo poonani replied to Gabe Northern's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
funny everyone talks about his big arm, but i remember he couldn't make a 5 yard out pass without placing it in the dirt in front of the receiver -
All for it! They're not playing in Buffalo anyway, and I think it would be a boost for the venue when you have Clifton Hill, the restaurants, casinos, etc. But please make it a dome!

Jamon Meredith will probably (should) start. You don't build up a young team and then let old vets take playing time away from them. This year is a throw away year, let the kids get the most experience they can.

I think this draft was a a pretty safe one, and by that I mean the QBs didn't grade how they wanted. Buffalo wasn't the only team to pass on Clausen twice and McCoy thrice. I was hoping for a LT in round one, but Spiller makes sense when Lynch can be suspended next time for a whole season (and we're probably not going to resign him anyway). Plus Gailey likes a player he can do a lot of things with, we shouldn't discount seeing Spiller spread out wide at receiver at times. They tried trading back into the first round probably for either Bulaga or NT Dan Williams, but couldn't find a partner. Troup makes sense, he's a run stuffer. K. Williams will be the NT on passing downs. Stroud and Johnson are the DEs, but most likely for just a season or two, so Carrington is a good replacement. The way the injury bug hit us last year depth isn't a bad thing, and this draft certainly provided that. Wang will be a backup OT while Calloway will be a backup OG so they may yet see time on the field this season. Who knows, maybe the best thing for this franchise is to go 0-16 next year and get Jake Locker out of Washington. I'm not really an optimist when it comes to OBD, but at least we didn't draft 4 DBs this time

If Detroit can get a 1st and a 3rd for Roy Williams, we should be able to get a 1st for Lee. Send him packing to the highest bidder, stock up on draft picks, and begin the rebuilding process in earnest.

What do you want the Bills to do with the #9 PICK?
voodoo poonani replied to toddgurley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be cool with either DT Dan Williams or ILB Rolando McClain. I think for whoever picks up McClain will have their quarterback of the defense for the next six years. If we don't pick an NT in round I hope we do so in round 2. -
Bills offense to be much different in 2010
voodoo poonani replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As opposed to what, punting on first down? -
LOLB- Porter LILB - Poz/Mitchell RILB - Rolando McClain ROLB - Maybin I'd be ok if this was our LB corps for this year
-
The biggest knock on him in the forums was his weight, but Tony Pike weighed in at the Scouting Combine at 225lb, and said he wanted to get to 230lb by his pro day. Does this change anyone's opinions about drafting him?

Lynch for a 2nd, Evans for a 1st and a 3rd. There's probably a team on the cusp that would give anything for a guy like Evans... maybe the Titans or Panthers.

Wkatever We do - Please No Campbell Trade
voodoo poonani replied to box0life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jason Campbell has also improved every year he has played. This past season Campbell threw for over 3600 yards and 20 touchdowns despite getting sacked 43 times. No one on our roster compares to that (well except for the getting sacked part). -
2010 Free Agents - List - By Positiion
voodoo poonani replied to Steely Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't mind making a play for Campbell. He has gotten better every year he has played. He threw for over 3600 yards while getting sacked 43 times. When was the last time a Buffalo QB did that? I know he's an RFA, but he may be available because many think Shanahan is going to want a new QB to run his system. -
What year will we return to the Super Bowl?
voodoo poonani replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think I have that many more years to live and I'm only going on 27! -
Now I don't believe it myself, and wouldn't want anyone to get their hopes up, but I was just wondering... What if the Bills surprise people and go big in FA? What if we get a Wilfork, Green, Seymour, Dansby, or Franklin? It would be nice to know that when there is no cap limit in sight, they try to buy a championship. Just once before Ralph kicks the bucket to be able to hold it up and say we finally did it. OK, I'll come back down to earth now.

I think the running the spread would be a good idea. With max protection our receivers get mobbed and Edwards/Fitzpatrick get sacked or make stupid mistakes. The spread would do Edwards some good since he wants to get the ball out quickly, and could be behind a rookie LT (again...), and Thigpen (if they go that way) ran it in KC. I think we keep Josh Reed, he's not worth a whole lot elsewhere and is a decent possession receiver. I expect Gailey to move the WRs around a lot to try and get some favorable matchups (something the last regime would seldom if ever do). Hardy will be given his shot this year, Evans is going nowhere, and Parrish may finally become useful. I expect the fifth slot to actually go to Shawn Nelson who was used in that matter at Ole Miss, with Fred Jackson seeing his share at receiver as well. Let's not forget Stevie Johnson, I thought he was doing good before we lost him. If that's the way it goes, I see the draft breaking down as follows: 1) LT (Bulaga or Campbell)/ILB (McClain if there because he can QB the defense for the next 6 years - PAY HIM!) 2) NT (Dan Williams or Odrick should be there, Cody may fall there) 3) LT/RG/OLB 4) whatever we missed in the first three rounds (probably a OG or OLB) 5) cheap yet speedy receivers
