  1. I did say. You quoted it.
  2. Peyton appears to be having more fun this game
  3. The bills message board has noticed it too
  4. I swear I've heard it in the background more than once
  5. Are they playing the shout song?
  6. Why? Admittedly, I've only seen one game, but the guy can make all the throws. He had a 60 yard bomb thrown to hit the receiver IN STRIDE. He was throwing it wherever he wanted to, but the receivers didn't always catch it. Still he ended the season with 46 TDs and only 6 INTs with a 71% completion percentage. He's 6'3" 214lbs. They lost a bunch of games, but their defense was horrible. The guy could have jumped to a better program too, but didn't. He has the build. He has the accuracy. He has the arm. And only 6 INTs tells me he makes good decisions. What are his flaws? I'm saying if he was there at 8, I'd take him. Take Nassib at 40 too if you want, but we need QBs.
  7. We have a HC who never called plays in the NFL. People said let him put a staff together. OK... We have an OC who never called plays in the NFL. We have a DC who may or may not have ever called plays in the NFL (some reports say Ryan gave up "some" play calling but took it back). Again, I'll just say it better all work. Tim Graham on Shredd and Reagan said that the information he has and the information Jason La Canfora was reporting is that perhaps Marrone was not the first choice (Whiz didn't like our QB situation nor how we planned to address it - Full Disclosure: I would have disliked a Whiz hire as well).
  8. Agree. I am still not excited. Maybe Marrone is already worn out from being super-duper really excited because he only used the word 792 times on his first day (you have to watch/listen to ALL the interviews, it adds up... jk) and interviewed how many candidates? Was their even an interview? Or, was it like "Hey Nate, pack your sh*t! We're going big time!"
  9. It's official per Tim Graham s Twitter
  10. There, I can give that a +1. Well that's good because some of the arguments supporting the hire have been reasoned and rational while others are blind or nonsensical. Perhaps now we can stop saying those who have a negative opinion about the hire are not really fans and just want the team to fail. And, like Nanker said, "Now let's see him produce." Just out of curiosity, what is it that you do eball?
  11. It all depends on your point of view. I myself am a super pessimist: the glass isn't half empty it's filled with dog****. This organization sells hope every year. I did not like the hire, so I have decided not to buy this year. That doesn't mean I'm rooting for the team and Marrone to fail. I'm rooting for them to win the Superbowl. However, my expectations are we'll be drafting top five in 2014. BTW I haven't read myself about anyone looking forward to the next coaching search although I could believe someone saying that sarcastically.
  12. I'm curious, who here wants the Bills and Marrone to fail?
  13. Bc what he said didn't evoke an emotional response. Askthe previous guy why the presser made a difference to them.
  14. Listened to the presser. Still not excited. Let's see what OC and DC they can land. They better be right.
  15. Half the board hates the pick, the other half likes or is benign to it. The half that likes the pick hates the other half that doesn't and vice versa. So it's a typical Buffalo Bills forum.
  16. Aaron Murray is returning for his senior season . I was hoping we could have grabbed him.
  17. Doubtful, the schedule is harsh. They'll be lucky to get 5 wins unless this Marrone is magic.
  18. Well I'm not one of those. I've already laid out my reasons for not liking the hired earlier. I think to have any hope of success he needs a stud QB (like I was saying about Kurt Warner taking the Cards to the playoffs). I don't see him taking a Rex Grossman to a SB. But hey winning cures all. When week 1 rolls around I'll be cheering the Bills (but keeping my emotions in line with my low expectations), but today I just feel like "f!cking eh, more of this ****"?
  19. Well if anybody hated the coaching hires of the last 13 years, they've certainly been wrong right? The FO has made this team a powerhouse! This organization has done nothing to prove they know what they're doing over this span (giving Russ Brandon another title does little to inspire confidence nor does this hire). DM must make them look good, but I and many others doubt that'll be the case. Are we rooting for him to fail? Of course not. But I say don't get your hopes up that he'll succeed. I won't "billieve" it until I see it.
  20. I believe he was redshirted freshman year(he's 20?). He will be three years removed from HS next year so he should be draft eligible.
  21. Hiring Lovie as DC would do a lot to take the bad taste out of a lot of people's mouths right now, but I just don't see it happening.
  22. First off, I don't think anyone here claims to see into the future. Doug Marrone may very well become the greatest Bills HC ever. However, I'm extremely skeptical and as I've said, uninspired. You want to B word about people bitching about the pick, go ahead, but it's not like we don't have our reasons. A 25-25 record and two "Pinstripe Bowl" wins? Yeah that really compares to a close loss to Stanford from being in the BCS National Championship game; a 45-7 record; and stomping one of the most successful coaches in the Fiesta Bowl. Or how about someone fired after a 10-6 season in the NFL [hey it's hard to win in the NFL] (BTW our last double digit winning season? yeah 1999), 5 winning seasons out of 9, only one season worse than 7-9; a SB appearance with a terrible QB named Rex Grossman. Hell, even the other guy, who I hate BTW, had a SB appearance on his resume (though I maintain both winning seasons a product of a Hall of Fame QB and not the coach). When we were all told that money is no object and nobody was off limits, they trotted out Chang Gailey and said "he's won everywhere he's been." A lot of people knew then and understood, his credentials didn't warrant the post (he was unemployed for crying out loud), and he went 16-42. Awesome. So what can you say about Doug Marrone? He's got a middling record everywhere he's been? Syracuse may be better than they were four years ago, but you cannot even call them a powerhouse in the Big East let alone all of NCAAF. Or compare that experience to being able to rebuild an NFL franchise. "So and so says he's a good coach and that'd he'll be an NFL coach someday", yeah people say a lot of good things about their friends. Football nepotism is rampant, what'd you expect them to say, "I know the guy, he sucks." Marv still says Jauron shouldn't have been fired and was the best choice for us. If Marrone was such a good coach in the NFL, why didn't he even get a chance to call plays in the NFL? Oh yeah, they had Sean Payton. To me, the choice stinks of a marketing ploy, another one of Brandon's regionalization efforts. And if they pick Nassib, he better be as good as Peyton Manning or else it just looks even more like a joke. So if you want to give them the benefit of the doubt, go ahead, nobody is stopping you. I, however, am not going to give them that. I see a 5 win or less season coming up, and don't tell me they need time to rebuild. We've seen first year HCs and first year QBs in the playoffs. If we get to the playoffs with this new coach and Fitzpatrick (or some other middling QB), I'll eat crow, but I don't expect to be pulling any feathers out of my teeth anytime soon. So they better get an elite QB to make this chump look like a champ, or it's 14 straight years without playoffs and more fans foaming at the mouth.
