  1. Stevie just broke his wrist Ugh punting already
  2. Lol By design to confuse them I'm sure
  3. Alonso pushed smith into the end zone
  4. Ugh 3rd down defense 2 good plays then a bad 3rd down play
  5. What's with the camera constantly looking at the scoreboard? Ugh Justin Rogers
  6. Side note: first time in franchise history that Detroit beat Washington, that's unreal
  7. I hope the offense clicks early today and it's a route! GO BILLS!!!
  8. RE: Brown It's hard to be disappointed in someone who I thought was going to suck anyway. Ditto for Rogers.
  9. I agree that Chandler is having a down year. His blocking has been poor and he's dropping passes that he normally catches. One run play eats at me, we were backed up near our goal line and there was tons of open field to the right of the formation, rather than lead blocking, Chandler stopped and CJ ran right into him and got a gain of maybe 1 yard. He's also been called for penalties (chop block/holding variety). Graham I can't say is down because I can't recall a time when he was up. He's beaten his man a few times, but he doesn't seem to get the same separation from short routes that Stevie and Woods get.
  10. Prevent defenses still preventing teams from winning
  11. I agree that he's a more mature player than being a rookie suggests and love the kid's moxy. He was my number 2 (admittedly behind Geno) in the draft. I was just pointing out he's not perfect, but I can't wait for him to improve. He could be the legit solution we've been waiting for. However, I want to temper my own optimism (which optimism has never served me well) because we've thought we had the solution before (Rob Johnson, Bledsoe, JP Losman, Trent Edwards, Kelly Holcomb, Fitzpatrick). He's played two games and won the one he looked worse in. So for now, I'll monitor his progress and wait awhile before anointing him the chosen one. The last point, I'm not sure I agree with. I think the defense was fundamentally flawed last year. I believe this defense (because of the DC) would still have performed well whoever was at QB.
  12. First off, the numbers: 1) First Downs: Car – 25; Buf – 24 2) Third Down Efficiency: Car – 7/16 = 43%; Buf – 6/14 = 42% 3) Total Net Yards: Car – 308; Buf – 436 4) Penalties: Car – 3 for 30 yards; Buf – 7 for 55 yards 5) Turnovers: Car – 1 INT; Buf – 1 INT and 1 Fumble 6) Red Zone Efficiency: Car – 1/3 = 33%; Buf – 2/3 = 67% 7) Time of Possession: Car – 33:41; Buf – 26:19 I think most things have already been covered by some good posts, so apologies if I repeat something. My thoughts: 1) We really need to get a handle on these penalties. Boneheaded plays gave the Panthers the ball and were essentially turnovers. I was also disappointed in some no calls (there was plenty of holding of receivers and DL). 2) Our offensive play calling still puzzles me. 3rd and long and you through down the LOS to Chandler? Lots of garbage dump offs. 3) Hopefully with more practice EJ can improve his intermediate and deep pass accuracy. Also needs to improve timing routes, touch passes, pocket presence, progressions, and not staring down his receivers. 4) Hurry up needs to slow down. Second week, and the D looked gassed again. We’re still losing the time of possession battle. Poor clock management at the end of the first half. 5) Biggest off season addition: Mike Pettine. To borrow from Stephen Colbert: 6) Tip of the Hat: a. Leodis McKelvin: I wanted you to prove it against someone like Steve Smith and you did, so Kudos! b. Kiko Alonso: This guy will be a stud! Correction, this guy is a stud! Nine tackles and an interception for his second game. c. Mario Williams: Super Mario showed up! Kept Cam Newton bottled up and had 4.5 sacks. Great Job! d. Kyle Williams: Not big in the stat sheet but provided lots of pressure throughout the game. e. EJ Manuel: An uninspiring game at the beginning, missed some wide open receivers, lots of check down throws, but the Rookie came right down the field with a minute and a half and won the game. We’ve been lacking that for a long time. 7) Wag of the Finger: a. Aaron Williams: Great game but a boneheaded play with late hit out of bounds to give the Panthers the ball back. b. Frank Summers: A couple great catch and runs but a penalty on 4th down gave the Panthers the ball back. Poor blocking allowed Manuel to be strip sacked. c. Scott Chandler: For someone who our QBs have come to rely on as sure handed had some miscues. A few short passes that he made go absolutely nowhere. Also blew up a run play essentially blocking Spiller instead of blocking for him.
  13. My bad, but posts were getting too personalized. Nobody should be hacking on anybody. We all may have different views or opinions, but we're all Bills fans here. Criticisms of the team should not be taken as personal attacks.
  14. Whoa there. He has a ton to work on. 1) not locking onto receivers 2) not going through his progressions too fast 3) pocket awareness 4) when to use his legs 5) intermediate and deep ball accuracy 6) timing on timing routes
  15. Agreed, Robey has been very aggressive and McKelvin had a good game. I'd like to see better play and self control from our safeties. Jim Leonhard could have had a 3rd down stop, but didn't wrap up the tackle. Aaron Williams needs to keep his cool. Searcy definitely was holding hands with Olsen on that play.
  16. Ok I'm probably going to be jumped on for this, but can we focus on football and not other posters?
  17. I wasn't that impressed last week, but thought this week he played really well. I thought Steve Smith would eat him up, but he really held his own and stuck on him the whole game. Good game Leodis.
  18. Don't think I will. I'm happy for the win, but it was a poor game for the second week in a row with a different outcome. The offensive play calling needs a lot of work. The penalties need to stop. Clock management needs to improve. This team is by no means "good" yet. Let's hope they improve going forward. Also, glad to see the rookie get a come from behind, last second touchdown to win the game. Hopefully he builds confidence from this.
  19. Wow, i can't billieve we came back
  20. What does Carolina have up their sleeve. A game cannot end on a defensive penalty.
  21. Wow, glad no butter fingers there
  22. No pretty ridiculous after 13 losing years ( yes I know that was sarcasm)
