  1. To be clear, I have zero problem with Peterman believing whatever he wants to believe, and I agree people shouldn't mock him for it. My problem was McDermott citing Peterman's strong faith as a reason why he was still around. If someone's religious belief is grounds for keeping someone on the roster, the Bills might as well line up next week with Pope Francis under center.
  2. Thing is you pump fake that throw you get a huge completion (assuming OL gives him the extra two seconds or so he would need).
  3. DCs who become head coaches have to hire talented OCs, just as OCs who become head coaches have to bring in a talented DC. McDermott has had two mediocre OCs so far, and neither he nor Beane seem to have a clue about bringing in offensive talent.
  4. I don't blame Peterman in the least. It's not his fault he lacks the talent to play QB in the NFL. I find his quote annoying, but really, the blame falls on McDermott for sticking with him and citing his faith as one reason why. I understand the concept of bringing in high character guys, but a roster full of Bible Thumpers isn't going to cut it. This is Exhibit No. 1,265,735 in support of the argument that the Bills' organization is at or certainly very near the bottom of the NFL. There is zero excuse for the front office putting together this offense, from a weak OL, to non-NFL receivers, to QBs who either are simply not ready to play in the NFL and perhaps may never be, in the case of Allen, or never will be ready to play in the NFL, in the case of Peterman. Starting the season with those two as your options is organizational malpractice and Bills' season ticket holders should file a class action suit asking for their money back. The defense is pretty darn good, but no defense can survive what is likely the worst offense in the history of the Bills, and that is saying something.
  5. The entire offense is complete garbage. McBeane's lack of attention to improving the offense may well bury the Bills for years.
  6. Look on the bright side, the game is moving along quickly so Bills' fans will be out of their misery sooner rather than later.
  7. Shocking that a QB from a mediocre school who wasn't all that great in a lousy conference would be behind QBs who were very good playing for quality programs in power conferences.
  8. What's worse is that the Browns seem to be in a much better place than the Bills.
  9. Of course the front office also didn't do Allen any favors by having the worst WR corp in the NFL.
  10. lousy OL makes establishing the running game tough, puts all the more pressure on a QB who really isn't close to being ready to run an NFL offense.
  11. Really, you guarantee that will happen based on what you've seen thus far? It is entirely possible, but to emphatically state it will happen is...strange to say the least, particularly when dealing with a QB from a lower tier conference who wasn't even a stud in that lower tier conference. I'm all for being patient, and Allen may eventually turn out to be the next Big Ben, but anyone who thinks its a certainty is arriving at a conclusion not supported by the evidence to date.
  12. It's silly for anyone to say Allen will be a bust or a franchise QB at this point. There is not enough data and what data exists is mixed at best. Today's game was won by the defense, and the +2 in turnovers. I really don't see how anyone can say Allen's overall game contributed to the win. His stats were exactly the type that people roasted Taylor and Manuel over. Nonetheless, he didn't make a mistake that cost the Bills the game. It's just going to take time to sort out. I'm happy to take the win and move on. If the Bills can squeak out another win before the midway point, maybe then can go 6-2 down the stretch and see if 9-7 gets them in. It's a long shot, but things look better than they did after week 2, particularly on defense.
  13. The Bills just got hammered with the worst possible schedule. Two home games in the first 7 is ridiculous. There may well be other teams stuck with that type of schedule, but it just brutal, not to mention stupid to give a cold weather team very few home games during nice weather. 2-2 is probably the best we can hope for, and I really don't think it is likely. The Texans and Colts aren't that good, but they also won't be looking ahead like the Vikings were, so I really think the Titans are the best hope for a win out of those 4.
  14. The Titanic's rudder was just fine.
  15. This. Even mediocre franchises can avoid years where all the wheels fall off. It takes organizations that are truly inept to put the product on the field that the Bills are this year. It isn't easy not to have a roster full of players when only one of them, McCoy, would start, let alone be a force, for any other team in the league. That takes ineptitude to epic levels.
  16. Why should anyone be upset about the fact that the Bills are as far away from being Super Bowl contenders than at any time since the Harvey Johnson days? Why should they care about the Bills not having any proven talent beyond McCoy and a somewhat decent secondary? Why should anyone be bothered by the fact that 3 wins will likely be considered over-achieving for this assemblage of dreck?
  17. I think you mean an NFL caliber OL. No OC can design plays that work on a regular basis when you don't have a single offensive lineman who would start on another team.
  18. This time next week at a Cleveland McDonalds: Hi, my name is Zane Gonzalez, would you like fries with that Big Mac?
  19. It's just a crappy situation, two QBs with little to no experience at all. That's what bad organizations to, and the Bills have a terrible organization.
  20. Gonzalez is an ASU product, no wonder he's a screw up. As for the Bills, the future looks bright, just like it would look moments before you crash into the Sun.
  21. The assembling of an abysmal OL and the hiring of Frazier appear to the top 2 reasons this team is historically bad. No QB could do anything behind that line, and the personnel on defense seems to be incompatible with the defensive scheme.
  22. Wow, Red Zone just relegated the Bills to Red Zone Purgatory. They won't go back to the game unless the Bills score.
  23. Better use of time to ask how in the name of holy hell did the Bills go from 9-7 to the worst team in franchise history and who is responsible so they can be fired.
