  1. No. Worse Bills loss ever imo. Wide right - stuff happens. Music City was more a fluke. This was suicide.
  2. The brain fart heard round the world.
  3. Agree but he’s the only true star we have on that side of the ball.
  4. Ok and both were from second tier programs, unlike say JuJu.
  5. My bad. Gabe was 2020 draft of course. Point was that sometimes the best WRs in their respective drafts were mid-later round guys. Davis has absolutely exceeded expectations.
  6. Was Zay really picked ahead of Cooper Kupp or am I just having another nightmare.
  7. Bills have needs on both sides of the ball but in the draft and FA any moves to support the O enjoy a kind of leverage that equivalent attention to the D does not. The reason for that is because the O is led by the best player in the game. Imagine a guard or centre (like Humphries) to shore up the line, a (better) RB to complement Singletary and another top shelf WR. Lots of 50 burgers mmmmmm
  8. I think Josh Allen is to blame. He miscalled the coin toss.
  9. How do you ‘apologize’ for having a yellow stripe a mile wide running down your back? I say that fully believing that both McD and Frazier are otherwise very good coaches.
  10. Sometimes I wonder if Frazier and McD bring out the worst in each other. Psychologists say sometimes that happens with two otherwise normal people.
  11. As has been said, both the kickoff and the defensive alignments are of the same type and mindset. Play not to lose, not to win. Overly conservative (or flat out cowardly) even when the odds are 95% in your favour if you play correct situational football. A huge spotlight was focussed on that deficiency last Sunday. The question going forward is can the HC learn from his mistakes. Frankly I don’t think it’s a question of just X’s and O’s. Its a character flaw. That makes it a lot harder.
  12. Maybe the reference to execution was made to deflect away from the real problem. Maybe the kick and the defensive alignments in the last 13 seconds were all part of the same pathetic mindset. The deep kick was called because it provided certainty as to the result, the certainty being that it would not be returned for a touchdown. The prevent defence was called because it reduced the possibility that the Chiefs would score a touchdown and win the game in the last 13 seconds (Hill had just taken a crossing pattern to the house, beating Wallace) when correct situational football called for “preventing” the field goal. Overly conservative. Or maybe there is another word for it.
  13. I think you are right. It was fully the intention to kick it dead and start at the 25 and the reason for that was the certainty of that outcome, which neither a squib kick nor a high kickoff to the 5 could guarantee. The trade off though would have probably been more time off the clock and maybe also better field position or a turnover opportunity and this is further evidence of our HC’s conservative approach, along with not pressing Kelse at the line, protecting the sidelines when KC had their time outs, rushing 4 etc…Not necessarily taking issue with a conservative approach to things in general but in that situation I can certainly think of other coaches who would have done things very differently.
  14. I agree he’s against throwing coaches, including the HC, under the bus. He did say the ‘execution’ thing starts with him, so maybe he was sort of owning up.
  15. Josh and his O pretty much did what I expected (I predicted 35 points). I’ve been ambivalent about the D all year but I truly believed that they would step up enuf to get a few stops so that we could outscore KC (knowing that Mahomes was going to get his share of points). Needless to say I have a hard time finding excuses for what seemed to me to be coaching errors in the last 13 seconds. I’m really eager to see how KC does now going forward. Bengals have a lower rated middle of the pack D and will be playing the same venue. If they outperform us I will be inclined to conclude that there is something wrong with our coaching on that side of the ball, either philosophically/scheme wise or possibly even talent evaluation wise.
  16. They are both great obviously. Maybe it’s the homer in me but I just don’t think Pat would have had the game Josh did running the Bills offence yesterday.
  17. Bills 35 Chiefs 24
  18. I wouldn’t blame anyone for liking the Chiefs. They are a really good team and they are playing well on both sides of the ball right now. On offence they have adjusted very well to the two high safeties look and in using their secondary offensive weapons. On D they have gotten Jones back and so are better leveraging Clark. Getting Ingram was a good move imo. I still think their secondary can be challenged, especially Sorensen who is used on passing downs and I believe saw the majority of defensive snaps versus Cincinnati. When it comes to the Bills and specifically Josh Allen I think the views of many talking heads are reliable - but as lagging indicators. They are for the most part behind the times. This board is generally a much better take on reality than their opinions. There are of course some commentators out there who are more up to date.
  19. TBH I look at the franchise a lot differently than I did during the drought. IMO it’s amongst the handful of better franchises top to bottom.
  20. We’ll actually Kurt has always been slow to give Allen credit, though he’s finding it more difficult to do so. But that’s nothing more than an empirical observation. Frankly I could care less.
  21. Maybe Kurt Warner is reluctant to give Allen his due because Josh steals some of his thunder. Going from bagging groceries (or working on a farm) with total disinterest from the football world to elite status is supposed to be only Kurt’s story. I don’t want to believe that but I think it’s possible.
  22. This is Allen’s big opportunity to shine and imo he will be up to it. Chiefs are better than they were early on, but the Bills are totally peaking at the right time and have more momentum. They also know that they are capable of beating the Chiefs having done so earlier this year in a blowout. After Josh brings home the championship the talk will be all about whether he is the consensus greatest player in the game.
  23. If Joe Burrow can shred KCs secondary behind a terrible O-line so can Josh Allen behind a better one. Even more so imo.
