  1. Yeah I had a hard time getting my mind around that. Its like he is a completely different player when it comes to that.
  2. I agree with Moon. Allen would also be my choice. But don't sleep on Herbert. IMO he too has a chance to be great.
  3. Yeah I did not express myself very well. I was looking for something, perhaps scheme wise, that could help explain Bills dominance of Miami. Starting point was my belief that Miami is a pretty good team (though still building)- they won 10 games last year, came second in the Division, all with mediocre QB play. In making a general comparison of the teams I thought that QBs should be excluded since Allen has been so much better but of course that makes no sense because Allen is in large part the reason why Miami can't beat Buffalo. So it would have been better to ask what enables Allen to so completely own Miami, a team with a good defence. Why does he have more success against them than he does against other teams. He beat them up routinely before his breakout last year so its nothing new and has nothing to do with the improvement of his play. Usually when a team or athlete owns another there is a reason for it.
  4. He's not injured but the teenager the Jets have under center took a worse beating yesterday. Their giant left tackle was absolutely awful. Whole thing was quite comical actually.
  5. Talent wise, excluding Allen, the Fins are comparable to the Bills. But they can't, or at least haven't, beaten us in years. Must be we are just a terrible matchup for them, though I'm not sure exactly why.
  6. Josh is far from his best right now as some of the problems we saw earlier resurface. Its a combination of mediocre o-line play in pass pro, suspect play calling, lousy footwork and poor QB decisions in favouring lower percentage, though bigger payoff, options when going through progressions (as well as maybe a little overconfidence). Insofar as his play is concerned, these are fixable problems in Allen's case because he has already shown that he can correct them (because he is smart and has all the physical ability you could possibly want). We will see whether and how the team deals with the o-line, game planning including in-game adjustments and play-calling.
  7. He's in a bit of a funk right now. A few years ago ARod had a three or four game stretch where he was just terrible. Van Pelt had to scrub his mechanics. Allen will be himself soon enuf. He's just too talented for this to last imo.
  8. When he releases his feet are close together on some passes. Terrible form.
  9. if tua had not gotten hurt we'd have three more sacks at least. their o-line is bad.
  10. Jones is a lot better than either one of those guys IMO. But its certainly true that the G-Men have been in a funk for years now.
  11. Hopefully his long ball is getting better. If memory serves the Saunders overthrow wasn't terrible. I thought Saunders was maybe 1 and 1/2 strides away. He used to overthrow John Brown, who is a true burner, by 5 yards. EDIT: I have now seen Wiz's earlier post with pics and with which I agree.
  12. As usual Simms breakdown is very instructive. I get that Steeler's disguised their coverage to confuse Allen but don't defences disguise their coverages routinely in an effort to confuse or deceive the QB and hasn't Allen shown that he is capable of making post snap reads? Sounds like Simms is saying that Pittsburg's understanding of the NE O is so deep that finding the open receiver was especially difficult involving additional levels of complexity, presenting Allen with something of a shell game. While all QBs miss open receivers at times, and I haven't gone back to check the tape, but I don't myself recall Allen passing up lots of open receivers underneath. I though Steelers coverage was pretty much good at all levels. Kudos to them. Maybe Brady could counter with a good ground game. Not sure we are able to do that effectively. Josh Allen is still of course a young, inexperienced QB but he's smart. He will be a better QB by the end of the year than he is now.
