Malik Willis: The next Josh Allen?
starrymessenger replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He has wheels, a strong arm and is accurate. He has no idea how to read a defence and was never asked to do it. Gifted but a very risky pick in the first round. -
Malik Willis: The next Josh Allen?

I completely agree. I was just putting emphasis on the fact that Josh is a load and laughing at Honey Badger who in both games last year got trucked by him. There is no other QB in the game who can do what all Allen can do. Mahomes comes close. Burrow does not, good tho he is. Herbert is just Josh light for now until he proves otherwise. Its a very steep hill for him to climb. -
While American policy is something all world leaders always need to be aware of I wouldn’t myself overemphasize it’s importance in this particular case insofar as timing is concerned. I think Putin’s worldview is under pressure in Eastern Europe (his backyard) and he fears that with the passage of time Russia as he knows it and wants it to be will lose its grip. I wouldn’t characterize Trump as Putin’s puppet either but I do suspect that Trump admires and would like to emulate him. Putin is a street thug from from a very, very tough neighborhood. But he’s also much more than that. He’s a statesman who understands that he is the successor of Peter, of Catherine and of Alexander the First. That’s a huge responsibility and at 70 years old he is concerned for his and his country’s legacy. So Putin is a serious person and a real handful. Comparing Trump with Putin is like comparing Howdy Doodie with Heavy Duty.

Maybe because with a more Russia friendly administration in Washington he was better served by seeing how things might play out to his advantage over time ie perhaps Trump would pull the US out of NATO (rather than him precipitating a crisis the consequences of which might be uncertain). Also his motivations might not be so much influenced by American policy but other factors closer to home. There has fairly recently been an increase in opposition to his regime in Russia and there has been an upsurge in pro-western popular sentiment in neighbouring Belarus. This is actually Putin’s biggest problem both from a strategic and ideological perspective. If Ukraine and Belarus over time join Western Europe he has a thousand mile border to defend stretching from the Black to the Baltic Seas. Russia can’t do that. It might bankrupt them. Secondly, if Ukraine and Belarus join the EU his regime loses the ideological battle in Russia itself. For him losing these two countries would be like Republicans permanently losing Texas and Georgia aka game over. There is no doubt though that Putin wants to bring/keep/absorb Ukraine. He needs to. The pressure is actually on him.

He took over a disaster and turned them around. Do you really think Mike Brown is responsible for that. And he’s been to the SB before. Win lose or draw they are obviously a well coached team. -
Malik Willis: The next Josh Allen?
starrymessenger replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
All depends on how you chose to measure and define athleticism I suppose. What I think can be said is that Josh is the most physically dominant player to ever play the position taking into account all of his athletic attributes and psychological makeup. He’s the archetype of the badass stud. -

Josh looks faster than he is because defenders are afraid to tackle him. Just ask Honey Badger. -

Its just a highlight reel but its pretty obvious this guy has excellent mobility and lots of arm talent. Looks fast too. Wonder what his 40 is. -
Its possible that Daboll and McD didn’t always see eye to eye. Whether they did or not is probably mostly irrelevant imo, especially now that Brian is gone. What matters more is whether McD and Josh Allen will see eye to eye going forward. If, and I say if, the 13 second episode is at all indicative of the HC’s mindset, inclinations and character (more than just a mistake that anyone can have the misfortune to commit) then I could foresee problems given Allen’s aggressive competitiveness. They aren’t paying McD a quarter billion dollars.

Sean Payton on the end of the Bills-Chiefs game
starrymessenger replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not sure that McD has the self-confidence/courage to share space with a big name badass OC (not that I think Payton would come here in that capacity). And thats why I am very interested to see who gets the job here. I think that and the plan for the draft will tell us a lot. -
Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)

Haven’t seen a partial reported. I assume a total tear. His prognosis is 100% recovery however. -

Well personally I would roll the dice on Williams being able to contribute this year. As I mentioned elsewhere Pickens saw the field eight months after surgery. Dominick Blaylock also back after eight. These guys are not normal human beings and the get the benefit of world class rehab. Thats why I doubt he gets past receiver needy teams before we pick. -

All the news regarding Williams has been very positive. Pickens was back eight months after surgery. -
Burrow is elite. Has ice in his veins. Josh Allen is super elite. Pat didn’t beat him last week. His coach did.

He’s not going anywhere but he should be on notice.

Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)

Not sure I follow. Maybe just me. If Williams is there you jump on him imo. But thats because all reports that I’m familiar with seem to say his 4:3 speed will be unaffected and that he should be ready in Sept, Oct at the latest. I don’t really see him as an injured player around which there are serious questions as far as the draft is concerned and thats why I doubt he falls to us. -
Good coverage overall and a D-line that could finish.

Joe is elite. Josh is super elite. JMO.

Now that’s entertainment.
