Putin is in no hurry to end the war. Holds all the cards. Probably the world's senior statesman. The West has no idea who these people are - didn't in 1812, didn't in 1941, don't now. Maybe they can't make a car that works but they are in the forefront of missile technology. It is the West (basically America/Biden and previous Democrat admins) that has destroyed Ukraine, not Russia. If the West wants to negotiate it had better hurry up. Putin hasn't laid hands on the iconic city of Odessa yet showing admirable restraint. Odessa is pretty much 100% ethnic Russian and Russian speaking and is a stones throw from Kerson Oblast that Russia now controls. If he takes Odessa Ukraine loses its only remaining access to the Black Sea. It becomes like Belarus. Might as well absorb it into Poland at that point. At least there is Gdansk.

Name a player who is comparable to Josh Allen.....
starrymessenger replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Every great player is unique so there is no clear comparable. Obviously Elway and (a more athletic) Ben R. Now that he's less of a gunslinger I wouldn't compare Josh to Favre. Before his career was derailed by injury Bert Jones was pretty much the best and most dominant player on the field. Tough as nails and a great passer. -
I guess that's what you call retrospective analysis. Fortunately not all talking heads are idiots. I think it was Greenie the other day who said that Josh Allen was the best QB he had ever seen, better than Elway his previous fav.

I get the point and it's a good one but Cooper can do a lot more than draw coverage. In what remains of the season I'd like to see Josh and Cooper develop more chemistry in advance of the playoffs. I noticed a couple of plays versus the Lions where Coop had cleanly beaten his man on the outside for what looked to be 6 points. On one occasion it seemed to me like Josh looked his way but wound up going to the opposite side of the field.

He says he likes it in Minni and would only leave if the opportunity was really to his liking.

Brian Flores is a top DC imo and I love his scheme. Far cry from what we do.

Difference between a healthy Mahomes and Wentz is huge imo. Maybe their D sees them through if Wentz plays but at this time of year against teams that have something to play for that outcome to me is very uncertain.

Week 15, Bills v. Lions, GAME BALLS!
starrymessenger replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
And Ragnow is a very tough guy. No pushover. -
Upgrades are always welcome but if we went into next year with the same complement on offence (or equivalent) as we have now (including the OC) I would be content. You shouldn't need more than the greatest show on turf. Beane has done a great job of rebuilding the O line and drafting/finding weapons for Allen. We see the results. Now in the upcoming offseason he needs to do the same thing filling in the holes on defence. I think he should be able to do that and if he does you have an absolute juggernaut. That's what I want.

All NFL teams have good football players on the roster. Good coaches put players in position to succeed bearing in mind their particular aptitudes, skills and the requirements of the team's schemes and philosophy. A great quarterback can bring out the very best in what players on offence have to offer. Josh Allen certainly does that. But that is as far as it goes imo. Success is inevitably a collective effort from the ground up involving all aspects of the organization as a whole. The Bills are one of the best organizations in the game. Josh Allen may very well be the best player on the planet but there are plenty of other outstanding contributors here without which Josh's talent, great as it is, would be wasted. And then of course there is Brady, Kromer and the rest of the coaching staff.

12/15/24 Week 15 Bills @ Lions Game Post Game Thread

Agree. I think Campbell understood that he was probably looking at a four, maybe five minute Bills drive that would result in more points, likely a TD. Lions were pretty much in desperation mode from the get go.
