Mitch is not the guy to make things happen. I think they are working on getting Pickett ready. -
Allen took just over 200 hits last year and it looks like he’s not letting up. In the Sims interview he mentioned how he felt the physical toll of his style of play, after games and after the season. Cam was never as good a player as Allen (even at his best) but he was every bit the physical specimen Allen is and Cam broke down at 30. So longevity is the issue here. Allen should and deserves to enjoy a long career because he does all of the QB things at a high level both in terms of execution and football smarts. Thing is his running the ball, both designed runs and even more when plays break down would be a huge asset to give up - important third down conversions and some game breakers, and with regularity. He’s young and he’s strong so maybe it’s ok if he does this for a handful of years and then tapers off. The only thing you worry about is injury and here like others I don’t think he’s cautious enuf. Does he really have to truck that linebacker?

Some teams just have a knack for identifying and recruiting talent at certain positions. Steelers know WRs. Whether it’s Coach, Leslie and or scouting, Bills know DBs. I expect Elam to develop into a top shelf starting caliber CB. From what I’ve seen he looks at times totally outstanding in man coverage. We will see how he adapts to zone when required to do so. I suspect Tre will be a big help to him. Bedford has been impressive in his consistency. He can play at this level. He’s got a good head and is physical. A football player. On Kupp’s best YAC play last night Bedford not only beat the block but seemed to be using it as a screen. He disengaged cleanly when he had to and was in great position to make the play. Don’t ask me to explain how Kupp managed to run through the tackle. I guess thats just what he does.

I think he played with an injured ankle at some point last year.

Defence matters needless to say. Defence might be the real reason why Tom is by many considered « better » than Peyton Manning. Had a top 10 defence every Super Bowl season in NE. Peyton not so much. Well he did say ball sport. Not taking anything away from Brady’s longevity but Sonny Liston was 44 years old when he first fought Ali.

I only mentioned Cold Harbor because my avatar is the Cold Harbor pic, not because of the loss of life. In fact his strategy in the Wilderness proved to be the right one. Grant was a great general and a great man. His memoirs are a cornerstone of American writings on history, similar Churchill’s post war memoirs in England. He was a twentieth century commander fighting in the mid 1800s. Lee was an eighteenth century gentleman and Pickett’s charge shows that he was not above employing late 18th/early 19th century tactics. i mention Grant with Washington and Lincoln only because to me they are the greatest Americans.

I sort of think strength (or lack thereof) is the deal breaker in his case and it doesn’t just relate to a role on STms. More importantly it affects him as a receiver. What’s the diff between him and George Pickens? Sure Pickens is measurably faster but otherwise they are physically similar and are the same receiver type. They both have great hands and are red zone threats. But Pickens is much stronger and much more aggressive. He’s going to be a star and IH is looking for a job. Steelers are smart and had a good draft. Pickett could be starting later this year imo and Pickens was larceny in the 2nd.

I hear you but Jets could be an interesting, surprise team to watch. Maybe good enough for the 3 spot. -
Full Chris Simms Visit with Josh Allen

Allen is a great interview. Intelligent, composed guy. -
By years end Allen will probably be the consensus # 1 player in the game.

Kromer has been doing it for a long time, has been successful and has always been highly regarded. Clearly the Bills want more production from their RBs and have dedicated resources to that end. Sort of makes sense given that their best RB has been Josh Allen. Take away his production and it really hasn’t been pretty. But all this means more taking the ball out of Allen’s hands. At every level he’s been the playmaker both throwing and running and I’m sure he’d rather pass than hand the ball off. It’ll be interesting to see him adjust. This will be different looking offence than we are used to seeing and that he is used to running. No question that this change/transition is necessary and should be beneficial imo.

Yeah they have had tough luck with their cornerbacks, no question.

I could seriously see them finishing last in the Division. -
True. That offence is loaded. Now is when we find out if Tua can execute or not. Make or break.
