I think Roman has pretty much maxed out Lamar's NFL potential. Putting Lamar in any kind of predominantly passing offence strikes me as a recipe for disaster.

I agree that it's reasonable to conclude that Lamar's passing stats would be better if he had better receivers. I mean Josh Allen's stats would probably be better if he had Mahomes' and Burrow's weapons. In evaluating Lamar as a passer you have to ask not only whether he would benefit from having better WRs but also whether he has the ability to make the WRs better than they would otherwise be. I don't think he does. He can't do what Josh Allen do.

Nobody is going to fully guarantee his 250MM. A running QB who appears to be slow to heal, has missed 30% of his teams games the last two years through injury just when the going gets tough and who has had disappointing playoff performances. Would be a real hoot to see Lamar, self styled agent, sitting by himself at the negotiating table.

Lamar is a hot weather loving Florida kid. He dislikes playing in cold weather. I could see him in Miami and Jimmy G in NYJ. Those moves would greatly upgrade competition at the all important position in the AFC East. They will trade him after applying the tag imo. I think he's done in Baltimore.

I think the Ravens will franchise and look to trade Lamar. Jets are a definite possibility but I wouldn't count Miami out. He's a Florida guy who hates the cold weather. And if you're the Fins who would you rather give a golden long term contract to, Tua who is one head shot away from retirement, or Lamar? The Ravens even after Ozzie's retirement are too smart to give Lamar the contract he thinks he deserves. Roquan was a very good move though imo. Has already taken that D to another level. If they had a decent QB who was interested in playing I think Cincinnati would have their hands full with the Ravens.

O-line will be the Bengals Achilles heal in the playoffs. They will be unable to protect Burrow, pretty much a pure pocket passer, when the going gets tough and they face a defence that can bring the heat. Burrow moves well in the pocket and can help himself with his legs when given the opportunity, but he is not Josh Allen who is as dangerous improvising off broken plays than he is executing from the pocket. Running an O behind a suspect line is a much bigger challenge for Burrow and the Bengals than for Allen and the Bills. Having said that, I'm not sure we are the team to pressure Burrow, being without Von and with a weakened secondary.

Without Von and with a weakened secondary I didn't say we were the team to beat them by pressuring Burrows. They barely beat the Ravens with their replacement QB and a middling pass rush. They got two gift TDs on bad turnovers to start the game too. A lot of this boils down to matchups and what I'm saying is that they match up poorly, very poorly, against a team that can bring the heat. That's why they are not winning out this year imo.

Bengals' O-line cannot protect Burrows against a good pass rush. That's why the Bengals are not winning a championship anytime soon.

Looks to me like Daboll was a lot better at managing Josh's overly aggressive tendencies. If anything our OC seems to add fuel to the fire. He has no gameplan, or maybe has only one.

If you had set fire to it it would have been better spent.
