  1. Lamar is a hot weather loving Florida kid. He dislikes playing in cold weather. I could see him in Miami and Jimmy G in NYJ. Those moves would greatly upgrade competition at the all important position in the AFC East. They will trade him after applying the tag imo. I think he's done in Baltimore.
  2. I think the Ravens will franchise and look to trade Lamar. Jets are a definite possibility but I wouldn't count Miami out. He's a Florida guy who hates the cold weather. And if you're the Fins who would you rather give a golden long term contract to, Tua who is one head shot away from retirement, or Lamar? The Ravens even after Ozzie's retirement are too smart to give Lamar the contract he thinks he deserves. Roquan was a very good move though imo. Has already taken that D to another level. If they had a decent QB who was interested in playing I think Cincinnati would have their hands full with the Ravens.
  3. O-line will be the Bengals Achilles heal in the playoffs. They will be unable to protect Burrow, pretty much a pure pocket passer, when the going gets tough and they face a defence that can bring the heat. Burrow moves well in the pocket and can help himself with his legs when given the opportunity, but he is not Josh Allen who is as dangerous improvising off broken plays than he is executing from the pocket. Running an O behind a suspect line is a much bigger challenge for Burrow and the Bengals than for Allen and the Bills. Having said that, I'm not sure we are the team to pressure Burrow, being without Von and with a weakened secondary.
  4. Tua probably already doesn't know where he is. Fin fans won't be happy until he doesn't know that he should be somewhere.
  5. Without Von and with a weakened secondary I didn't say we were the team to beat them by pressuring Burrows. They barely beat the Ravens with their replacement QB and a middling pass rush. They got two gift TDs on bad turnovers to start the game too. A lot of this boils down to matchups and what I'm saying is that they match up poorly, very poorly, against a team that can bring the heat. That's why they are not winning out this year imo.
  6. Bengals' O-line cannot protect Burrows against a good pass rush. That's why the Bengals are not winning a championship anytime soon.
  7. Looks to me like Daboll was a lot better at managing Josh's overly aggressive tendencies. If anything our OC seems to add fuel to the fire. He has no gameplan, or maybe has only one.
  8. You forgot - 2b) if all else fails refs lend a big helping hand (just ask Broncos). The Kansas City Thiefs.
  9. Docs at UC medical Center say upon regaining consciousness last night Damar asked who won the game.
  10. Not just crowning Russ right in front of a ref but the world's worse PI call on CS that completely changed the momentum. Chiefs are the new Patriots in that regard, especially at Arrowhead.
  11. Not the Gronk action, not at all. Just finishing through to the whistle (and not after the play, like Gronk).
  12. Not a popular opinion no doubt, and I may be wrong, but I didn't think Hurst's action was a cheap shot. Johnson's injury seemed to happen on initial contact which was just a good block and looked to be a head trauma. I don't think Hurst passing over Johnson after that did any damage. I didn't see him kneeing Taron. Celebrating over a player that is down is not cool but I don't think he meant to be taunting an injured player. If I'm mistaken then somebody needs to make a note of his number and follow up maybe when he least expects it. That's how hockey works anyway.
  13. I agree with the OP (and others) - good time for Diggs to have a 100 + yards game.
  14. No way we are running straight into the teeth of that front. Play action passes over the middle intermediate depth. Greg Cosell says Knox is the man to watch. I think Diggs may have a big game.
  15. Well you maybe don't make a living off of it but it's a nice thing to have. Mike Evans is a vertical threat who can make contested catches. Mike Williams doesn't just make contested catches. I sure had wishful visions of him in a Bills uni before he signed again with the Chargers. I wish Gabe Davis could win more contested passes (but it seems he can't). Its an important skill for outside receivers, especially the big ones who typically get less separation. And "making contested catches" is here a bit of shorthand for all of the skills that kind of receiver should have - the ability to use his length to win by high pointing the ball, the body control and physicality to box out DBs and, yes, strong hands. I would love to have George Pickens. There appear to be some quite good slot/power slot receivers in this draft (though that's not where the cream of this years class is). If any of them turns into an elite player of course you'd be overjoyed to have him (and regret having passed) and that position is also a need what with Beasley's absence, McK's inconsistencies, Crowder's injury and the teams reluctance to give Shakir a bigger role. Still if I had to choose between equally promising slot and big bodied vertical threats I'd go for the latter. Its just harder to find. I see the Bills taking a receiver later in the draft, and not before Rd 3 but probably later (unless they love a guy who falls).
  16. Mahomes has three pro bowl O lineman. Josh Allen doesn't have that.
  17. If memory serves in no way was Wilson a consensus can't miss prospect, not even close. Sure everybody loved his arm strength, ability to throw off platform, mobility and general athleticism. But he was also regarded as a risky boom or bust type prospect by many. I don't know what his coaches asked him to do but his weaknesses did not improve even in his one good year. And judging from his tenure in NY they probably can't be coached out of him.
  18. As I think they should. This is said to be a strong class IOL (O'Cyrus Torrance has been mocked to us in the first) while the WR group looks to be weaker than in recent years and mostly slot/power slot receiver types when what we need is a big bodied vertical outside guy who can make contested catches. Johnston would be the ideal pick but he's very unlikely to be there for us late in the first (assuming WR was the priority position of need for the Bills, which is not the case). Tillman likely won't be there when we pick in the third. He lacks Johnson's athleticism and speed but he could well develop into the Hodgins receiver type except much better (faster, stronger, more physical/aggressive). If the Bills want him it would have to be our second imo (if at all). Don't know that they go there.
  19. Almost forgot (how could I). Darnold also had to deal with Adam Gase. Nuff said.
  20. Well maybe Baker needs a strong hand at HC but there can be no comparing him with Wilson. When it comes to QBing skills they are not in the same universe.
  21. Darnold had neither the receivers or the run game (or defence) Wilson had. Things might have turned out better for him in NY. Wilson is a bust and is not fixable imo.
