Well for sure we didn't win because he started in place of Edmunds.

I saw a scrambling Brisset of all people completely break Dodson's ankles with a non-move in the open field.

Aaron Rodgers talking with the Jets
starrymessenger replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's on a secret mission to destroy the Jets and the Packers because he is a nihilist who actually hates football. Douglas will sign all these guys, create competing factions in the locker room, then Aaron will change his mind and retire to a 500 acre spread in Wyoming, completely screwing GBs cap situation. Douglas heads to the airport where a jet has been kept on standby for a trip to Baltimore where he gives Lamar most of what he wants and then the Ravens match. Perfection. -
McGovern is outstanding in pass pro. Though tall for a guard he is great at keeping his pad level low to gain leverage, uses his hands extremely well, maintains an even, level base, anchors well, makes excellent decisions when having to decide which of two gaps to cover, is overall technically sound (see Cover 1). Likely only average in run blocking but clearly well above in pass pro. I bet he (and his agent) are looking two or three years down the road when they may reasonably expect him to be signing a bigger deal at 27-28 yrs old. Interested in seeing his use as a fullback/blocking TE. We do some of that already.

Tremaine is a good, solid player and teammate. I'm happy that he's getting paid but at that price I'm also happy it's not us who is having to pay him. As far back as his draft scouting reports, and pretty much continuously since, his perceived lack of instincts (accounting in the opinion of some for the lack of big plays) has been flagged as a weakness. The Bills obviously hoped this aptitude would develop but it would seem that the needle has pretty much remained where it always was. To me the Bears are paying as though this issue had been favourably resolved. I see no evidence that it has. It will be most interesting to see the Bears fans reactions as the season progresses now that Tremaine is replacing Roquan, who imo is better. Bears picked him ahead of where Tremaine was taken when they were drafted. I'll also be interested to see if the Bears use him in the same or in different ways than the Bills. The guy's physical attributes are so impressive that some change to his responsibilities might lead to better results.

Bears to trade #1 overall pick to Panthers
starrymessenger replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's gotta be CJ Stroud. What nfl GM would make a move like that for a 180 lb 5'10" QB? Can't believe they would do this for Levis either. If Richardson has the ability to process or if that ability is there to be developed he will be a lot better than all these other guys. -
Could Dion Dawkins be an "elite" Guard??
starrymessenger replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's actually not that great a LT imo, though he can play the position. I think he could be a very good guard. I don't know how he would react to the suggestion that he move inside. Probably not very well. -
He’d be a decent get in the fifth. Poor man’s Dont’a Foreman. Would like Foreman a lot but he will get paid about the same as Singletary.

Mims is a very good player who has not been getting a lot of attention. That may change now with his 4:38 40. I was hoping to nab him in the third if we did not draft any of the more highly rated wide receivers in the first or second. He's probably as good or almost as any wideout in the draft imo.

Report: Dolphins exploring “moving on” from Tua
starrymessenger replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Concussions, especially for a QB, are a deal killer for me. The league isn't now where it was when Aikman was playing (and it's a good thing). I think prudent risk management would suggest moving on from Tua asap. Personally I'd love to see Lamar in Miami. Don't really want to be in a Division where one team always wipes the floor with the others. -
Back when I was hoping he'd be there for us in the third. I now think he will be off the board when we pick in the second. But with him, Mayer and Musgrave there will be a great TE there at 27 imo if the Bills are so inclined.

This year's class of RBs is really good. Get all you need in the fifth or sixth.

I like Flowers a lot too. In fact I'm not sure he isn't right on par with Addison as a prospect. Some folks just can't get off his size as a weakness. He's just a tad north of 5'9" and weighs 182 pounds. That's only one inch less and just a couple of pounds lighter than Antonio Brown. What if he becomes AB (without the head case)? Are people going to complain about his size then? Dubs. And while many feel that this WR class is "weak" I'm sure some valuable starters at that position will be drafted this year. Addison won the Belitnikoff in 2021 while at Pittsburg a year the class is said to be so much stronger. He can play - and at a high level. JSN is going to be a great slot receiver, guaranteed 80 catches, 1000 yards every year including year one. More than half the good nfl WRs are smaller guys and that may well be the direction the game is headed. There just aren't that many alpha dogs out there. Mind you I'm not complaining either if the best TE in this years class is there at 27 and we take him. Or Bijan. Point is with likely first round runs on QB, DB, edge, there should be some excellent players to choose from at positions of need. I just don't want them to outsmart themselves again ala the Bernard pick. That TooToo guy worries me. He's so smart, such a process oriented guy etc...sounds exactly like Bernard. So if Bernard was a fifth round pick taken in the third maybe TooToo who is projected in the third will be a first round pick on McD's board. Please God no.

His “accuracy” reminds me of Josh when he first came into the league. When his mechanics are good he is accurate. Like Josh was. I think inconsistent rather than fatally inaccurate. As for as the mental side of things I suspect, like most QBs coming into the league, hes got a ways to go.His physical ability is elite. I would love Darnell in the third.
-
He’s the guy as far as I’m concerned. Josh Allen 2.
-
Didnt yet see what his 40 time was. if as some have projected hes a 4.5 40, we would have an outside chance in the second. but he could go a few spots before that pick. Reminds me a little of George Pickens who went later second last year. Greg Cosell likes Tillman. He also liked Pickens a lot.
-
Tillman is interesting. It’s possible the Bills just dont think they need another undersized receiver. If so this is one big boy who should be available in later rounds.
-
i dont know that JSN will be there at 27. No question if hes still the 2021 guy you are getting a top shelf slot receiver who is plug and play. I think he may be a Raven, esp if as I suspect Lamar is history in Baltimore. My issue with him is I see Shakir as our slot guy and he can be a good one. So I would prefer a wr who can bring something different as a playmaker. Also just throwing it out there but some observers feel that JSN will not be the same YAC guy in the pros. If there is a drop off (reasonable to expect) the question is how much.

not good in pass pro - yet
-
Confess I'm a little surprised by these times. Flowers thought he'd run in the low 4.3s. If this pushes them down great.
-
He's short, 5'9". But he just put on some weight (12 LBs) so he's up to 182 LBs. Weight wise that puts him in the same class as most of the rest of this generally smaller class. I think he'd be a great # 2. Still prefer Addison. One of those guys will probably be there.
-
Don't disagree on TE. Flowers is expected to run in the low 4.3s as well and under no circumstances is he limited in his athletic traits. Both he and Addison are great athletes. Hyatt has no proven ability as a route runner. He ran all of four routes in college, all vertical. The vol offense was schemed to give him a free release all day long. That's not happening in the pros where much better DBs will be pressing, jamming, punching. In terms of proven ability Hyatt is to me a one trick poney. Maybe he will develop into a Will Fuller (without the head case) but even then I think both Addison and Flowers are likely to have more impact sooner.
-
JMO but I think Flowers and Addison are on a whole different and higher level as pro prospect receivers. Also, Diggs is getting a little up there in age so that you have to think about his successor as the team's # 1. That's certainly not Hyatt imo. To me he is a high risk of busting while Addison and Flowers are much safer picks. I can just barely remember when we drafted a big receiver called Hardy (I think) ahead of DeSean Jackson.
