  1. Watson looks bad today but hes a much better passer than that. I expect his game will improve sooner than later, and when it does he will again be one of the best dual threat QBs in the league.
  2. I think Daryl Williams was better at it than Taylor. Much less obvious.
  3. The player has to look out for himself because nobody else will, not the fans, not the owners.
  4. Yes I know that Reid is probably the HC best known for calling his own plays, but one would expect that EB had a lot to do with the prep that goes into the playcalls. The OC change could be something to watch going forward.
  5. I wonder if EB would have called the game differently. Don't remember him ever taking the ball out of Mahomes hands in crucial game situations. And for what? A poorly executed jet sweep? And I've got to question going for it fourth and 25. Especially with patently underperforming Toney, Moore (who they drafted ahead of George Pickens) and Watson, not to mention a good Lions pass rush.
  6. Well maybe he should cut back on his workload. I mean is it bigger than other OC's? The guy whose workload concerns me is McD.
  7. I think he also just lacked being a badass, a person with bad intentions. His athletic traits are elite. If he had more hasty he could be legendary. What has been said about his tackling technique is accurate. I think the reason for it has everything in to do with personality. The few times I saw him hit with an edge he was an absolute wrecking ball (although once his victim was Dane Jackson). The Bears got the player we know, for good or ill. That's not going to change.
  8. Can't say I've followed this player so I'm looking at a tiny sample size but his preseason looks pretty ugly. If that is who he is I'm not surprised he was cut. M. Cunningham however would be a good get imo though if they now want their QBs to execute from the pocket, which impacts play design, blocking schemes etc... that's probably not what he does best. To me teams should all have a developmental player for the most important position.
  9. We should trade Bernard to whoever would take him against an exchange of late round draft picks in 2034.
  10. Yeah I don't very much like Rudolph but I think he's probably less accident prone than Kyle. Not saying much unfortunately.
  11. Defender got his had on the ball. First one was a drop.
  12. Renewed my subscription yesterday. Took the 1 year 19.99 per month option. Regret that I missed this thread when posted. Product now is annoying to watch with repetitive DAZN adverts and obnoxious soundtrack. Interestingly last year Thursday night football was carried live on RDS Quebec. Wonder if it will be this year.
  13. Torrance looks to have great instincts for playing the position. He's also a good technician with a good head that has clearly taken well to the coaching he has received. Can't imagine him playing tackle. Right now his footwork is good except that he could benefit from having more foot speed. If he is vulnerable to outside speed rushers playing the guard position.....And we haven't yet seen him pull and lead block at the second level, where again foot speed is important (he can pull effectively to help out on the left side of the line). The good news is that once he gets his hands on you the rep is over. He's unbeatable inside. Hes going to be a starter at guard for a long time. He's a rook and the League is a big step up in the level of competition. He looks like the kind of player who just gets better.
  14. What Allen was able to accomplish is rare, maybe even unprecedented. And clearly not all supremely talented youngsters make it, especially when it comes to playing the all important position. I wouldn't call it an opinion because I haven't done more than see from a distance a little of his game tape, highlights, pre-draft film studies. But my impression is that he looks a carbon copy of Josh Allen at the time Allen came into the league. They have the same physical attributes. They have a similar developmental history, which is to say that they are totally green lacking the prep that first round QBs have normally enjoyed. What's more, the things that require work are again exactly the same, notably mechanics/footwork when the question is accuracy passing the football, developing touch etc... An important similarity is that the tape shows that both are capable of executing properly, making the right reads, and accurately throwing the football with good mechanics - as with Josh the hope is that with coaching and hard work his game can find the level of consistency needed to succeed. Allen's incredible athleticism puts him a cut above the competition from the get go. It's an essential attribute. It bought him time to learn the position. Richardson has that. Richardson is reputed to have a good head on his shoulders. We'll see how it works out.
  15. He will be great...if he can read a defence.
  16. Well in the matter of intentionality there remains a difference between criminal negligence causing death and capital murder.
  17. Sure. AR is an all time great. Tua is more likely a marginal bit player by comparison. But as others have noted it will be interesting to see how a 39 year old Aaron makes out behind that O-line.
