No disrespect for the Raiders but they are banged up (including R. Seymour has sore ribs), they are travelling almost three thousand miles on a short week. If we don't take them down there is something wrong. Bills 27 - Raiders 13 BONUS PREDICTION FOR BILLS FANS - BOLTS WILL TAKE DOWN THE PATS TODAY 37 - 28.

Bills looking to extend Fitz
starrymessenger replied to Rockinon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. The problem is that the higher numbers would be closer to the negotiated comp. And it would likely be 4 or maybe even 5 years. People saying to sign Fitz now probably haven't cosidered the extent to which the organization is committed. Especially Buffalo which might not then make a big investment in a high draft pick for grooming into a franchise player. So for now its probably not even clear that signing Fitz to this kind of deal is something that you should be doing at all. I too would wait until the year is over. -
New Contract On The Horizon For Fitz

Everybody likes Fitz but one game is too early to crown his a$$. -
We are getting Cool Props

TB, in his first game back from year long injury, through 2 perfect 4th quarter TD passes to his TE. We blew it (McKelvin) but he (Brady) still needed to win it. -

Let 'em laugh. The Bills are a wild card candidate but even if they fall short this year, if they stay reasonably healthy some teams looking for a wild card berth or home field advantage later in the year will not be laughing when they play Buffalo. -
hissy fit with bruschi and ocho
starrymessenger replied to brenty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are exactly right and thats why it seems so unfair and ungenerous on Bruschi's part. But tweets are the road that 85 has travelled in the past when he was an entertainer. Thats enuf to attract attention from a crew that is totally intolerant of even the possibility of deviation from the template. The message is simple - you don't even tweet "nice" things here. You don't tweet at all. You shut the $% up and stick your noise in the playbook. I actualy don't think Bruschi was being mean. He was just being a Pat. Personally I like and admire the way they do things in NE. When the day comes that the Marcellosaurus grinds TBs face in the dirt their insufferable arrogance will only make it more appealing to me. Unlike you, I like 85. Hes a lot like our guy. A joker, a decent guy, and a very good football player (though I think he may have lost a step). I just don't know how things will work out in NE. As for Bruschi, I can understand people outside NE not liking him. But I'd love to have a guy like him in his prime wearing a Bills uni. And Rodney Harrison is a scumbag. -
His tackles in run support on Sunday were straightline plays. When (if) he shows that he can take good angles in space at the second level he will have improved the main deficiency in his game. Do that and hes overall a very good safety.

hissy fit with bruschi and ocho
starrymessenger replied to brenty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given the innocent content of the tweet Bruschi's reaction can easily be regarded as a blind sided cheap shot. But Bruschi has a point and probably a purpose. 85's penchant for the spotlight, his clowning around and his interfacing with the football public at large is completely inconsistent with the Patriot way since BB has been running the show there and ruling with an iron hand. In NE you are a professional football player not an entertainer. You focus on your job and nothing else. Above all, you don't provide distractions. Whoever you are, even TB, you are just a cog in a wheel, being the Pat's system, just another team player. This discipline and dedication largely accounts for their success. And Pats players, including retired alumni, are typically pitiless in their treatment of guys wearing a Pats uni who don't quite fit the mold, including where they underperform relative to expectations- remember TB's open and public disdain for Joey Galloway who just couldn't suck it up anymore after a great career. It will be interesting to how 85 reacts to this public humiliation. Will he become more disciplined, or will this type of environment break his spirit? Maybe Bruschi did him a favour. BTW Rodney Harrison is a scumbag. -
This seems like an over-reaction by Miami
starrymessenger replied to Lothar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree he is the fall guy. -
Somebody said they saw a clip of him speaking to a group of trainers at the preseason game with Detroit and pointing at his chest while on the sidelines. Seems like a really good kid. Just can't catch a break. Prayers are with him.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
starrymessenger replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great Post! KC didn't show up, but the good news is we did. If we can avoid injury to key personnel we'll be looking like a football team for the first time in many years, a decade. -
If we hold them to 120 total rushing yards or less (however you parce them out), we can reasonably expect to beat them IMO.
-
Last year they used lots of two and even some three TE sets (on this year's roster they carry only two due to TMs injury). They also have two big blocking backs. I expect them to run the ball tomorrow, lots.
-
Agree The Marcellosaurus is the best name by far.
-
I too was impressed with Heard. Found it funny that MJ got all the attention. Heard's almost as big as he is. Definitely a guy to watch.
-
Didn't say he was a good run blocker though.

brandon-meriweather cut by the pats

Except he is a playmaker with 12 interceptions as a pro. Donte is not and does not. Like Donte, he takes bad angles, and he's tough and physical. -
Tyler Thigpen or Levi Brown?
starrymessenger replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
TT is Chan's boy and recruited him again as soon as his Dolphin's gig was up. Chan does not like Levi, who clearly has more upside of the two. Chan likes guys who execute his instructions to the letter. Hence his love of Roosevelt. Levi frustrates/irritates Chan, IMO. -
The bills would have likely taken Gabbert

At the time I thought it was Demaryius Thomas, who Gailey had at Tech. Never thought it was Tebow, and Nix later denied the Tebow rumour. -
More Cuts per T. Graham
starrymessenger replied to BillsFanThru-N-Thru's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Think you are right. Thought Jasper actually looked good on a couple of plays against Lions. And that was a big improvement because, as you say, he had shown nothing. Given how raw he is showing improvement over a few preseason games is a vcery positive sign. He belongs on the PS asa developing player. -
Big, good speed and good, if not great hands. Kid sure loooked nlike a great prospect to me. Certainly liked him over NR, who is small but not fast - usually a deadly combo (even if it works out once in a blue moon).

Don't, I say DON'T try and understand this because it is guaranteed to drive you crazy. Hue Jackson went temporarily insane on the sidelines the other night when the Raiders played the Saints. Why? Because he tried to understand the folowing fact situation: Its third and one. Trent throws two yards behind the line of scrimage - result, you guessed it (if you didn't see it)- fourth down. You see, Hue should not have tried to understand this. It is dangerous to his health. Hopefully he has now learned a valuable lesson. Ergo, Kyle over Trent.
