Smart People, take me to school. Chan vs Fitz
starrymessenger replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only thing wrong with Chan's O is the guy he picked to run it. That is the fatal flaw they talk about in discussing tragic heros. -
Yeah, you've got to love the way he B word slapped his D last year when they were underperforming. He obviously has the ears and the respect of the players.

I would throw Granny off a speeding roller coaster for Jay Cutler.

I think Nix has trusted Gailey....too much. Fitz will be Gailey's downfall IMO.

Nix and Chan are not on the same page
starrymessenger replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree that Buddy and Chan may not be on the same page. I don't think either that they are tied at the hip. Hard to see Buddy extending Chan at year end if the team has not shown significant improvement. I think that Chan has had a big influence, for better or for worse, in personnel decisions. Spiller was his waterbug. Brad Smith was his decision IMO. I think Buddy brought VY in. Chan never wanted him. I believe it was Chan who sold Fitz to Buddy and Ralph Wilson after 4 games last year, thinking, wrongly IMO, that he had found the guy to run his O. Buddy has given Chan a lot of rope and unfortunately Chan has put that rope around his own neck. Personally, I sort of like Chan's offense. The main problem is that he has tied himself to a QB who does not have all of the skills needed to properly execute it. Ultimately this is the fatal error in the plan that threatens to bring Chan down. It's sort of a shame actually. -
He tried to sack Cutler himself. Talk about screwing up your assignment.

Was Mario being a crybaby, you be the judge
starrymessenger replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mario is a whiner. If its not about the refs missing calls its about some minor but somehow debilitating injury. Its just the way he is. Get used to it folks. I expect him to bounce back this week. -
Anyone who would take Fitz over Jay Cutler either needs a new brain or has an agenda.

Will We Win On Sunday
starrymessenger replied to DefenseWinzChampionshipz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know what we did to the Broncos and Tebow last year. Rex Ryan will likely use him more effectively than Fox did in that game (though I understand that Fox too is philosophically a run first guy). And no I don't call Mario a nasty. For sure a top DE and maybe the most physically gifted player on the roster, but his motor runs off and on, unlike the other Williams. -
Will We Win On Sunday
starrymessenger replied to DefenseWinzChampionshipz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I worry about how we will match up against their improved ground and pound. Say what you like about Tebow but he can run the ball. Our linebackers and young secondary could be badly exposed. The only true nasties we have on D are Kyle and Marcel. The more Sanchez plays, the better our chances. If Tebow mostly sits, I think we win. -
Any interest in Josh Gordon in Supplemental Draft
starrymessenger replied to Smiley Dear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A few years ago the speculation was that the Bills were trading up for Tebow. Buddy said no and he was telling the truth. They wanted Demarius Thomas. BeyBey was a Chan favorite. If they think he was a possible first round talent, I would not be surprised if Gordon was a Bill tomorrow. He has only been working out for three weeks. He can definitely improve on his 40 time with a little conditioning. He really is big and fast. -
You can bet lots of pro talent evaluators had a bead on him long before the draft. It's the national football media that's slow on the uptake, before they spend more time with the scouts and execs. That's why you see so many changes in what's being reported as we are down to the wire. Gilmore is clearly one of the two top corners in this years draft based on all the visual evidence. He tackles better than Claibourne, he is better in run support, and executing blitz packages. He is much bigger, and much faster. His hips are less fluid transitioning and though his ball skills appear to be good, the other guy is off the charts and clearly better in deep and man, though not in zone, coverage. I will be interested to see how he does in press when the pads go on. All in all a top prospect and deserving of where he was drafted, even if there were a few position players as good or even maybe better, tho not for us given our needs i.e. DeCastro, who was a steal, no pun intended. Really love the Brooks pick too. He is a red ass player.

Trent Edwards the Eagle
starrymessenger replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In a preseason game last year with the raiders Trent threw a quick out on third and long. I remember the look of utter disbelief on coach Jacksons face. I had to laugh, but really it was sad. -
Trent Edwards the Eagle
starrymessenger replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So tell us how you really feel about Trent. I feel sorry for him, still trying to be something he can never be, an NFL quarterback. It's sad. He should go back to Cali, sell insurance and play golf. That would make sense at least. -
Where are you now Bills Fan?

Stephon Gilmore Signed by the Bills

Roger Maris was the same way. Used to say "I was born surely". Actually I'm like that too. -
Skip Bayless Says .....
starrymessenger replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear ya but for a long time Vick was not a good QB either. I'm intrigued to see if he has matured and what, if anything, Gailey and Lee can do with him. -
Buddy's Success in San Diego
starrymessenger replied to Forward Progress's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buddy is putting a powerhouse team together in Buffalo. There are a few (not many) pieces missing. If they can be found the AFC East passes thru Buffalo in a couple of years. Buddy has just had a great run what with FA and the draft. But he is not doing it all by himself. Something has happened to the organization. We have better coaches. Better scouts. We have Whaley backing up Buddy. We are spending money and taking risks. We are doing things the right way for a change. It is pretty much a complete overhaul. After so many years of sucking I'm not sure I understand why or where the impetus is coming from. Nor do I understand why it took so long. I guess it must be Ralph. -
Gilmore & Glenn High Bust Potential?
starrymessenger replied to 3putt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nawrocki is the guy who said Cam was garbage and going to bust. He thought Maybin was a sure fire HOFamer. Enuf said about him. Nothing to worry about Gilmore. He is a phenomenal athlete. His ball skills might not be on par with Mo Claiborne but he is faster, a better tackler and more dangerous coming off the edge. He is also extremely serious about his profession and has an outstanding worth ethic. He was a good student and is of impeccable character. For those who have'nt noticed yet he is also extremely confident. He is a very low risk pick with great upside. I think he will shine. Glenn's upside is probowl left tackle. His downside is probowl RT or guard. Also a first rate person. Actually, the Bills had an absolutely fantastic draft. Talent, value & need. Check. -

ACC...ok right I got it. -
RD 3, Pick #69: WR TJ Graham - NC State

So he was "worried"? Talk about a panic overreaction. If you are going to move up for a WR why not a real one like Randle. -

Rest assured there is none. There is only the homer police. Would like you to believe anything.
