  1. The thing most likely to queer the RGIII deal (and I'm not saying its likely to happen) is injury. True he is about the same size as Steve Young, but SY took a beating. No telling now if RGIII will be as durable or less so. The prospect of career limiting injury can affect all players, certainly QBs, but is less likely to bite A Luck or Cam Newton.
  2. Problem is that Chan has proven conclusively that he cannot do any of that, whatever the reason. So he needs to go IMO.
  3. Didn't he get that extension after 4 games? Doesn't it take the league about 4 games to figure out what your doing on offence and make adjustments? Does Fitz have the ability to permit changes in scheme or gameplan to counter those adjustments? Yes, yes and no. That is all ye need to know.
  4. Should be a high 1st round pick in this draft class. Wouldnt feel good about starting him right away though. He would be better served by holding the clipboard for at least a year IMO. If we stay where we are now in the draft order we should be in position to get Barkely, Smith or Wilson either by standing pat or maybe moving up since we could well be within striking distance. Need (and have) more time to decide whether that is the right strategy though given this years draft class. Last year was a no brainer.
  5. Take the points and the Jags. They have upgraded their QB position and even without MJD they have some playmakers.
  6. IMO DJ can develop into a decent # 2 receiver, or at least a solid starter further down the depth chart (esp if Stevie is in reality an outstanding # 2 and we still need to find a true #1 receiver). DJs ceiling is maybe just a notch below Pierre Garcon, which is not bad. Truth is he is probably a better and more useful player than Meachem, who has been a bust in SD and now replaced by Denario Alexander. This team has more than one spot to fill in order to be fully competitive talent wise with playoff caliber opposition. But they are pretty close. The problem is at the QB position. Get a bona fide starter under centre and this offence in particular could really tear it up. It would give the D a much needed lift as well. The whole team would play better. Quite possibly much better.
  7. He has a more diversified skill set than you are giving him credit for. He was fired from GT in part because he refused to throw the ball - even though he had Calvin Johnson on his roster. I think another poster had it right. Chan wants to show the world what a genius he is by not doing what anyone with half a brain would do. He hasn't figured out that this means he winds up doing what only someone with no brain at all would do. Smart boy. He has managed to lose the team. Jackson, even Fitz are calling out his gameplan and playcalls.
  8. The coaching is a big question mark for me too. I look around sometimes tho and I wonder if its just us. What is Andy Reid thinking with a pass happy gameplay with a lousy O-line and a stud like McCoy in the backfield? Why is JG passing three times in a row on 2nd and 1 on the Giants 20 with the game on the line? Is Felix Jones really that unreliable?
  9. He doesn't. He gets his share. Unfortunately it's a generous portion.
  10. I can see how somebody might say this with a straight face. Many playoff and even some SB winning teams have under performed even through to the bye. And this team has talent. It's a few players away from being very talented as a group on both sides of the ball. Will they get it together? I hope so of course but I am not holding my breathe. With Fitz at the controls the limitations are just too much to overcome for them to go on a run. He would have to eliminate game changing mistakes and play with some consistency. I would like to think that he could do that but I very much doubt it.
  11. It's one thing to say it when you win all the time and another to say it (frequently) when you lose all the time.
  12. Nix won't be making any moves soon IMO. I think he's in shock, eating jello and watching Barney & Friends.
  13. Agreed. And do you think DW has an understanding of what goes on the offensive side of the ball? There is nothing unusual in a HC turning things over to a coordinator, especially when the HC himself is a specialist on one side of the ball. Rex Ryan had no clue what Brian Schottenheimer was doing.
  14. My personal experience supports your view. I'm from Montreal and was a huge Expos fan from the get go. I have not followed them since they became the Nationals.
  15. I'm not from WNY but to me the Bills are and always have been the Buffalo Bills. I would hate to see them move. It would also be a disaster for Buffalo and Buffalonians (is that the word?). The Bills give the region an important presence on the national stage. Hear the words "Green Bay" and what comes to mind? Cheese? Not really. More like football - and respect. I don't mind listening to Bill fans complaining. They are a good and knowledgeable fan base that will not fail to criticize poor management and poor play. If it were otherwise all would truly be lost.
  16. Fitz deserves no blame whatsoever. Who ever accused him of being a guy who didn't care or didn't try? The blame is on Chan and Buddy for crowning a backup QB with compromising shortcomings a NFL starter on a team that was expected to be competitive. Fitz is actually in a tough spot. Chan has put him in a position where he can only embarrass himself and be a lightening rod for scorn.
  17. Orton > Fitz Matt Moore > Fitz Fitz > Billy Buffalo
  18. Buddy was crystal clear about TJAX being insurance so that instead of getting fired when they ditch Fitz at the end of the year Buddy and Chan can sell TJAX to the fans and the owner thereby insuring that they both get an extension.
  19. Fitz has little to do with any success our offence achieves. He actually holds it back. Now start telling me how great his individual stats are. Oh, I take it back. Now he is middle of the pack (sorry I forgot the most recent flavour).
  20. You are wasting your breath. They really just don't get it. When he craps out again against Houston it'll be "we'll sure, Wade's D is the best, just look at the stats".
  21. Fear the Beard I love it when you say Chan played to Fitz's strength by letting him hand the ball off a lot today. Just wait till he plays Houston after the bye. That will be a long afternoon in Fitzland.
  22. Jenkins is looking like the best corner of his class. Would love to have gotten him on the cheap. True shut down corner and for a 180 pounder he can lay the lumber.
  23. I don't fault him for that. Ball went through a maze of players and hit him in the gut. It happens. His safety play has been atrocious however. He has been no help at all to the corners, especially Williams. He needs to sit.
  24. The D is bad but can improve. Fitz is bad too but it should be apparent to all that he cannot get better. He has maxed out - at bad. Titans give up about 34 a game.
