I find it interesting that Taylor Lewan is looking like he may be the best of the LTs. He was and remained throughout the evaluation process slotted behind the other two but he started to open some eyes with his superior combine and his performance seems to continuing it's upward trend after now in his early pro career. Good for him!

Wasn't watching the game so I don't know how well he did. But didn't he throw two picks. In one game. And didn't Foles throw two all of last year. Just looking at the stat line MS didn't seem that impressive, though of course that is sometimes misleading.

Bargaining power was the first thing that occurred to me as well. We will know that's the case if indeed they wind up locking him up. I agree. But can he do that? The problem that I have is that with these young players, the O-line such as it is for now, Nate calling plays etc...I really don't think that Peyton Manning or Tom Brady would have played any better these last four games. Maybe worse. That suggests to me that Orton is maybe hot right now but that eventually he will find his right cruising altitude, unless, of course, he's a late bloomer and suddenly in the top half of starting QBs in this league. That sure would be nice. Anyway we've got 8 more games to try and figure all of that out.

If Orton has a stellar year he will be in demand. He doesn't have to play for the Bills, though he may want to. The suggestion that he's some kind of deadbeat just looking for a chance to play QB anywhere is absurd. Idk what kind of contract he may be able to parlay a strong performance into but I can guarantee it will be more than 5 bucks per. Oh and by the way that's why he's here. He has a plan and a personal agenda. He knew perfectly well that the Bills were basically one player away from being able to compete. He thinks he's that player. He's not stupid and Kyle Orton is the last person on earth who would ever sell Kyle Orton short. Kyle wants money and as much of it that he can get. By year end if he leads the Bills to the playoffs he will have Whaley right where he wants him. Smooth.

I have no idea how to weight the different factors that might influence his decision. Don't know the guy obviously. Most folks like money. A lot. I know that if he keeps playing like this he will have options. Somebody will have to pay him a more than 5 bucks. Thing is the teams that might want him as a starter are probably not as good situations as Buffalo, as far as the prospects of the teams going forward are concerned. Common sense suggests that he should be sensitive to that. That could translate into a home town discount, though a lot would depend on what all else was on the table.

I think that's right 3rd/12. I think KO fully understood what he was getting into here and liked what he saw. Young players with talent looking for veteran leadership. I have no doubt that's one of the main reasons he decided to come to Buff and that he likes the yet developing story about his being the guy who helps turn the franchise around (with the Pegs). But Orton is his own man and he will decide what he's about next year. If he continues to play like this he will be in the drivers seat at year end and he will be in demand. He's always been a better QB to me than Josh M was in Chicago or anywhere else JM has played. The question is, what will he want? One thing we can be sure of is that Kyle Orton will not sell himself short. He actually, and perhaps foolishly, thought he could compete for the starting job in Dallas, despite Jerry's deep love for Romo.

There is something I'm missing. Maybe somebody can help me out. I've seen the option for 2015 referred to as a "player option" that Orton is said to "hold". That suggests to me that Orton decides whether he is a Bill or not next year. If so, and if his play holds up for the rest of the year, either he agrees to a new contract or he waves goodbye. Annualized his numbers after four games and somebody will pay him a lot more than 5bucks to be their QB next year. If it's his decision I have even more respect for him as a shrewd operator. Means he has come to Buffalo with the intention of leveraging his opportunity and has outsmarted yet another GM.

What was it exactly he was supposed to be doing? Was that part of the play design. Was he trying to hide? Gotcha. He was being small or smaller or inconspicuous. Except I was worried somebody shot him dead.

My guess is its $. And there is nothing wrong with that. He's at or close to the top of the food chain as far as DTs are concerned given his age and more consistent play, but the character concerns are real though a lot less than somebody like Haynesworth who landed a huge contract. I know I takes a few years for DTs to fully come around but my impression has always been that he's a guy who can pretty much flat out dominate whenever he makes up his mind to do so. Is his spotty play in prior years just a question of development or motivation. Important question.

Woods is quite capable of having a big game. Our receivers are really pretty good. That's really what separates of from the Jets. True they have Percival but he's not acclimated and, who knows, he might punch Geno in the mouth before the first half is over. Now if we can just fix that pesky O-line.

All the better. Rex will try and take Sammy away. I'm beginning to think (hope) that maybe Hogie can be a lot better than I thought. KO seems to have good chemistry with him. QB always gets the kudos but in reality that was a heck of a catch last week. Just a lacrosse player I know but who could have known that a guy from Coe College was actually a great player.

Bold prediction: Hogie has a monster day on Sunday.

For similar reasons we're lucky Orton is here. Never understood the Locker love. Always seemed just another athlete pretending to be a QB. Works in college but not where it needs to. Actually in his case didn't even work in college.
