  1. Agree with all of this. Fun to discuss but hard if not impossible to draw meaningful conclusions comparing the greats of different eras. With respect to Ali/Tyson, nothing against Mike but anyone who fails to realize that Ali in his prime would have dropped him like a sack of potatoes knows nothing about the sport of pro boxing.
  2. If he is signed and sticks Choice is probably out of a job, tho MO is a fullback and Choice has been pretty decent as a reserve running back.
  3. Wouldn't mind MO at all. 5'10 225 ran a 4.48 40. Did a good job filling in for MJD last year. One of the best ST players in the league and a pro through and through.
  4. Yeah and same for Jerome Simpson who may well be cut loose by Minny. Will be interesting to see how the Finns make out this year.
  5. That team is a mess. Ivory has the potential to be a playmaker but he's very injury prone. Now this. And Sanchez needs a running attack in order to have a chance of being effective. They are headed for a five win season. Only downside - here comes Clowney!
  6. When it comes to FA WRs history suggests that you are better off growing your own. That guy Meachum that everyone was slobbering over last year will probably wind up getting cut in San Diego.
  7. I also think this means Geno starts sooner than later, maybe day 1. They probably made a mistake rushing Sanchez but Geno has played more than 16 games or whatever it was in college. On the other hand Geno seems emotionally fragile and he is playing in a shark infested snake pit, if such a thing exists. Should be fun to watch. I see the Jets winning no more than 5 games this year and drafting another q b in 2014.
  8. Yeah I sort of got that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. Sent me reaching for rubber underwear. Oh well I'm sure MD is man enuf.
  9. Except Randy is 6/4 and ran a 4.25 in school and a 4.27 at the combine. Also Randy was never a physical player. DR can punish DBs. Should make for lots of fun seeing if he makes it this spring/summer. Without the baggage he would have prolly gone in that run that began late in the first with Hopkins and continued into the early second. Not bad for an UDFA.
  10. Possible. Make the Rams and Vikes think you're going to pick Austin and scoop two first round picks for #8. Browns might beat us to that trade however, especially if we blow this Austin smoke.
  11. I love great guard play as much as the next guy but to pick Warmack ahead of a guy who is a legit threat to make big plays with every touch makes no sense to me.
  12. Any QB selection is bound to be controversial this year. This is a better and more sensible draft than many others I have seen, including those produced by the so called expert talking heads. Good job. PS I love Thomas too and would like for the Bills to draft him, but I also agree that he is a later third rounder than where we will be picking. I don't think he will be there in the fourth when our number is up. If the Bearcat TE is there I think he may be our third round pick.
  13. I don't think we could afford to chance it before the 4th ( assuming no extra picks as a result of trading down) and I expect him to be long gone by then.
  14. Rams are most likely trading partners assuming current draft order and that Browns don't take Austin. 16 and 46 makes the most sense. I'd rather just pick Austin. Now if 16 and 22 were in play...
  15. Which is why I wouldn't say we should pick him until 5 or 6. There is a real risk that he will never be the player he might have been. On the other hand after APs rehab he might be a five + year starter. You will need to spend a pick. Lots of teams would be all over him as a UFA.
  16. He's such a good football player. Does everything the position demands and does it all well. Having said that if he falls a lot because of injury I'd like the Bills to draft Lattimore. Same type of back as Fred.
  17. Take him in the 4th then. As far as the teams are concerned its old news. If they did not know it before the combine they knew it after. If you smoke dope all the time you are going to flunk the test. And HB smoked a lot of dope. Mind you, smoking dope, while not smart, is hardly a heinous crime. We are not talking Laurence Philips or even Rolando McLain here. He just needs to smarten up. He seems to understand that and why not its not rocket science. Tow the line and you are rolling in money. Don't and you are pumping gas. At the end of the day either you believe in the kid or you don't. Personally I think the very latest for him is prolly around our third round pick.
  18. There can be little doubt that a great safety who can cover and lay the wood in run support would do wonders for this D. If we were talking Barron I might agree. Don't see Vaccaro as in the same class of player and the Texas program really makes me very nervous.
  19. I hear you re Tavon but if he beats the press the odds of him scoring go way up because he is then man on man in space. If the D cheats to cover this risk opportunities open up for other WRs and RBs. There are different ways to beat the jam, not all just physicality. Footwork and moves will do it too and Tavon has the best moves since Barry Saunders.
  20. I understood him to be saying picking Austin at 8 was a Matt Millen move. There is stuff on the net including other team message boards ridiculing Matt Millen as a picker, for example an all WR draft. We know why people make fun of Matt the GM. I didn't see what this had to do with the Bills possibly picking Austin.
