  1. Luck and Russel Wilson also are megastars. They just don't act like that.
  2. You're right. He's a colossal talent when healthy but no doubt disgustingly full of himself. His fashion photoshoot was more hilarious than Sachez's. Ever see that thing he does with his arm and wrist in his practice throws? What flare! You would never see Luck act like that. Maybe what we find out in due course is that he doesn't have the ideal personality to lead a team of adult professional players in the long run.
  3. Not a big TJ fan and I would like to see more of Easley for now. But, in fairness the guy is almost always under thrown and never hit in stride. If his hands are good (and I know he has something to prove there) he could take the top off any defence IMO. I just don't see him ever going over the middle much so at best he is somewhat one dimensional.
  4. Without DA the Pats are very likely losers Thursday night. That's good IMO. The reason is that the Pats are vulnerable this year. They are vulnerable because Brady's supporting cast is much diminished and very possibly also because Brady's looks less consistent in his execution. Everyone has showered him with praise for his clutch performance last Sunday, but he also made his share of mistakes and poor throws. He responded poorly to moderate pressure. Sure they will get better but what I saw Sunday was an 8/8 team that would get its butt kicked by any number of genuine contenders. Jets will not sustain a winning record throughout the season and will implode later. I'd rather see the Pats not separate from the rest of the Division and I think that's the way it plays out. It's also our best chance to be playing meaningful football in November-December for a change.
  5. And it should be mentioned that Tavon Wilson also sucks. They did a lot better with that 7th round pick, although he is a criminal. Wish they would cut him.
  6. True. Specifically in referencing Kolb, Warner has said that no QB could succeed behind that line. Kolb will face his share of challenges in Buffalo, Mostly an inexperienced receiving corps. He may well show as a good game manager. Fitz's skill set was more limited IMO. I'm glad he's gone. I think Kolb starts ahead of EJ. EJ is not Luck, RG3 or Russell Wilson. He needs grooming. The big unanswered question is how he will respond to it.
  7. I've always liked Rex. There's not a mean bone in his body and he makes me laugh. Oh and he's a great DC.
  8. I cannot imagine that Florida LE could fail to indict AH if he admitted to shooting someone there. They have said that they will not proceed without the complainant in the civil suits cooperation. I find that pretty remarkable in itself since his claim, a public document, alleges negligent use of a firearm/or alternatively the intentional infliction of bodily harm. I did not see where the claim was supported with an affidavit or other sworn statement although normally this would be the case and in any event if the civil case is to proceed his allegations will eventually have to be entered into evidence under oath and be subject to examination by AHs lawyers. With a detailed sworn statement I would have expected the DA to act. It's clear that the "victim" just wants to hit AH up for cash and not pursue a criminal action. But I would have thought what he wanted was pretty much irrelevant. The gist of it is that shooting somebody in the face is also a matter in which the People have an interest-peace, order, good government and bodily security.. After all if he did it once he might go out and do it again to somebody else-oh wait! I wonder if Burriss was the complainant when he shot himself. Or maybe there are no laws in Florida.
  9. Like them or not, the strong majority of opinion on the Pats message board is that he's a disgrace to their uni and is done as a Patriot.
  10. Just a guess but I wouldn't be surprised if the four of them went out to buy drugs and Lloyd was killed by a drug dealer. Ah and the other two just high tailed it out of there and kept quiet about it. If that's what happened not sure what charges AH might be facing. Commish is sure to get him tho.
  11. I'm confident that AH will be good to go in September. September of 2020 that is. Maybe. Stick a fork in him. With the whole world watching the cops in Florida will also have to investigate the earlier incident. While the "victim" may not have been cooperative while he tried to hit AH up for cash, he has now filed a claim that no doubt alleges facts supporting at the very least negligent use of a firearm and perhaps an outright battery. If the claim is supported by an affidavit of the complainant they are furthermore sworn to. If the cops don't get him, the Commish surely will.
  12. Well you know I'm not sure all native Americans feel that way about it. ....zzzzzzzzz...
  13. Well you see it's because I don't think they should be aggrieved. Judging from your comment I would say that you are nothing more than a speck in my rear view mirror.
  14. If any native Americans are offended by the team name, simply put, they should not be. No offence is intended. As for "political correctness", I despise it. In many respects, the KKKs agenda was politically correct, for example temperance. Lots of crazy notions were politically correct in Germany in the 30s. Political correctness often has this element of coercion and oppression. To the politically correct, I would say "just get out of my face already". Changing the team name would involve a failure to recognize that society has in reality moved well beyond the attitudes and conventions that most of us would consider objectionable and unacceptable today. And for the outliers that remain anchored in the past, there is probably nothing that is going to change them for the better anyway. They have in any event been left behind and will eventually be no more than a speck in our rear view mirror. I'm Franco Italian, and I could care less if Jerry renamed his team the Dallas Degoboys or if the Red Legs became the Frogs Legs. I'm not offended by "Bills Mafia". Like the poet says " if the sun refuse to shine, I don't mind. If the hippies cut off their hair, I don't care".
  15. The judge overreacted IMO. A stern admonishment followed by an apology, both of which occurred, would have sufficed. As for 85, for sure he is capable of behaving inappropriately relative to societal norms, and generally making poor decisions - for example having anything to do with that nutcase he married. But in my book he was and remains a good person, a very funny guy (albeit lacking in taste sometimes) and a (formerly) great wideout. If we can get 5 or 6 of his best years from any of our young receivers I'll take it - gladly.
  16. I agree. And if that Bills team had managed to eke out a couple of championships, with Bruce's numbers otherwise staying the same, I doubt we would even be having the discussion.
  17. Right. Earnie Shavers. It's wrong to go on like this on the Bills board, but I can't help it. He's one of my all time favs. With regard to his punching power Ali said "Earnie hit me so hard, he shook my kinfolk back in Africa". The great Larry Holmes " Earnie hit me harder than any other fighter, including Mike Tyson. He hit me and I was face down on the canvass hearing saxophonist Jimmy Tillis." Ron Lyle "hardest I've ever been hit: Earnie Shavers. The ground came up and met me. That's all I remember". James Tillis " Shavers hit so hard he turned horse pi$$ into gasoline. He hit me so hard he brought back tomorrow. When he hit me I was seeing pink rats and cats and animals smoking cigarettes.I was in the land of make believe." Now if only Kiko can hit like that!
  18. I'll keep it short because not Bills related, but you're right. Short time line is likely the problem. Tyson may be the most devastating puncher in recent memory, but there were many others before him - Ernie Shavers, who was not a champion, Sonny Liston who was, George Foreman in his prime, etc...Mike also had quick hands, good footwork and technique, but he was a thug who could not fight from behind. Like most bullies he lost a lot of steam if his opponent got over his fear of him. He was a psychological front runner. Football, like boxing has an element of intimidation, but the best players are not thugs, even if some thugs are decent players, like Romanowski. Best heavyweight boxer ever? JMO, Joe Louis- M. Ali. Flip a coin.
  19. Or because he stuck to Womack like an old fly on fly paper and when he finally got off the block Lacy hit him like a truck. That's Warmack. Fat fingers vs Ipad.
  20. Yes. That has been said many times. Not what I was thinking though.
  21. You're probably right of course. Somehow I still think of him as a great player without a position. Maybe that makes no sense.
  22. Just think for a moment about the kind of offence NE runs with TB and then try to imagine Tim Tebow under centre, Hilarious, right? In Denver they completely overhauled their system to accommodate Tebow's skill set. They are not going to do that in NE. So if Tebow is going to play QB in NE it will likely be in short yardage situations, in effect a third down back with whatever scheme diversity might be added by a possible read option capability. Tebow is a pretty fascinating guy. Not only is he a great athlete, but he's a great football player too. Unfortunately for him their is no regular in line starting position for him to play at the level the game is played in the NFL. But I guess that Josh and Bill have the best shot at finding something useful for him to do.
  23. I actually think this might be the outcome. Quite a turnaround for this franchise if it happens. EJs physical skills are extremely impressive. As are his intangibles. His ceiling is very high. But don't sleep on Kolb. He will be as good as the protection he will be afforded. Something more than the 2.3 seconds he got per sack in Zona.
