Last night Tony and Rodney (no friend of the Bills) went out of their way to say it was a horrible garbage call. I agree with them. DB lost his balance and fell over backwards.
Lots of people thought TS in Denver couldn't play. Some thought Broncos should deal for Tyrod. News flash! TS can play (within a system to be sure - sorta like Brady). Oh and he was a 7th round pick projected by many to be a priority FA.
So how do we know Peterman cant play again? We dont know.
All the NE fanboys are predicting that the Pats will quickly turn it around. They have done it before etc...But the truth is that the problems of this team run deep on both sides of the ball so it goes beyond Brady. And when the system starts to break down so does a system QB. They will win the East this year but only because the Division is weak and not because they are the best team in football. They are not the best team in the AFC - I think the Steelers may be. They will lose 5 maybe 6 games this year imo and there is no way they repeat as champs. In fact they will not be going to the big dance probably for a long time.
They may beat the Saints (or maybe not) but I certainly don't expect to see them dominate as many think. On the contrary I think the problems will continue to be evident and I don't think even Belly and C. can turn this one around.
I don't mind the rotation. Keeping guys fresh makes sense to me if you have the horses to do it effectively. But no run stuffing zero tech is worth the money MD is being paid. He is (or should be) a disruptive 3 tech. McDermott's scheme allows for using MD this way so I expect to see that as the season progresses.
Donald probably better deserves it. I don't have a problem with large contracts but before inking one the team has to understand who and exactly what they are buying. The Bills were on notice concerning Dareus. Chan would complain about always "having to stay on him". I remember a long soundbite where Drayton Florence dressed Marcel down on the sidelines saying he had to raise his head/motivation to the level of his talent or else etc...and that was in 2011 if memory serves. Would obviously love for the light to go on but I'm sceptical at this point. Looks to me like he's been paid and has lazed out. Someone mentioned Sapp. Thats the player Marcel could and should be but just isn't. Unless he turns it around big time I don't see Sean putting up with it.
He made fantastic throws last night when he needed to. And he was happy to let the left side of his line and the running game take over when he didn't need to. I know its early but I see him as the clear front runner in the pro prospect sweepstakes.
