  1. If he's 6'1" I'm interested. But Yolo says he stood right next to him and that he's no taller than Wilson. That's 5'10 5/8" I think. Someone else says they saw him standing next to Flutie and Doug was taller!!! We will find out soon enuf. I really strongly doubt that McBeane drafts a short QB.
  2. The point is that you really haven't seen much this year, and not enuf to come to any firm conclusions or enuf to "hate" the kid, as you say. His stat sheet so far is not good, not good at all. Josh Allen's stat sheet sucks too, big time as a record of a whole year's activity, meanwhile he will likely be one of the top three QBs taken in this year's draft. Now I'm not saying Peterman is Josh Allen. He most certainly is not. All I'm saying is that the stat sheet does not always tell you all you may need to know about a player. He's a late round developmental pick. That means he is not a blue chip prospect but that is no reason to hate or verbally abuse him, as some around here do. Go down the list of NFL rosters. You will find a number of mid to late round guys serving as backups or work in process players. A few are starting. A couple are excelling. So they all clearly have and have earned their place, at least according to the professionals who manage these rosters. I guess they should instead just be reading 26's posts to find out what they really should be thinking and doing. Some fool changed his handle to "Peterman Threw Five Picks". What's the point of that? He also threw five TDs to beat the national champions his senior year. Almost all players not called Bruce Smith have strengths and weaknesses. That's why it's often necessary to put them in a position where they can succeed. I don't think that Peterman has gotten the benefit of that yet, to put it mildly. So we need to see more before we can properly evaluate him is all I'm saying. Peterman does not walk around with a cannon tied to his shoulder. Fair enuf. But neither does Case Keenum (an undrafted player BTW). In fact I'll bet Nate has a stronger arm. Keenum is having a great year playing at a high level in Minni. It is possible that Nate can develop into that kind of player and in the right O find similar success. Note I only ventured "possible". It's readily apparent that NP has a lot to learn. But it also looks as though at least for now the Bills feel that there is something there to work with in the hope that he develops. Personally I begin to trust in their good judgement as talent evaluators. IMO they have shown themselves to be pretty shrewd so far. Some people like to rush to categorical conclusions. I'd rather keep my powder dry and play the long game.
  3. Exactly. It was a dumb playcall. That's prolly more on Dennison than Peterman. I'm really not at all sure that Andy Dalton or Drew Brees would have made out much better. Of course they may have had the sense not to attempt it especially against a first team all pro corner either. In NO Peyton and Drew scheme to maximize Brees's efficiency, putting him in position to succeed. He doesn't have a strong arm so they don't ask him to do the things that Matthew Stafford can do (or Joe Flacco used to). Brandon Cook complained about Brees's armstrength saying it limited his own game. That's why he was traded to NE. Brees will be a first ballot HOFmer. Come to think of it I don't know that Alex Smith is comfortable making that throw either.
  4. Josh Allen has the highest ceiling of any QB in this draft. If he can, or can learn, to read a defence, go thru progressions and process quickly he will be a great QB IMO. Next John Elway.
  5. With him what I'm saying is that it might not be about the team, but more about the city where he plays and lives for the next likely 5 years. The G-men and other teams are actually concerned about his committment to football.
  6. Well with all the picks the Browns should get better too pretty soon. Rosen is said to be an elitist type of guy (not blue collar). And in fact he has said he doesn't want to play in Cleveland. Wouldn't surprise me if Buff and Cleveland pretty much look the same to a Southern Cali guy. I suspect he'd like NY tho, and I'm sure the Giants are giving him a lot of thought. He's the best passer in the draft and he's good to go.
  7. Maybe my bad but didn't he say he didn't want to go to Cleveland. Or was I just making a logical assumption (who would?). Regardless why wouldn't the Giants keep the pick and take him. Eli's not for long and might be gone this offseason. And you've got to know that Rosen would love the Big Apple.
  8. If he doesn't want to play in Cleveland he might not want to play in Blo either. He wants NY and I think NY wants him.
  9. Well you can always exit the thread. Nice avatar tho. There is that.
  10. He doesn't carry a big gun but you do have to question the playcall (again). Throwing outside the numbers against an all pro DB with the game on the line? That spells trouble for lots of NFL QBs.
  11. Some of the Peterman hate is the converse of Tyrod love, no question. Some Tyrod fans need Nate the way the Pres needs Hillary. But there is more to it than that. I'm not ready to write hm off though and I don't think the Bills are either. Time will if he's got anything worthwhile to offer.
  12. Possible, but I don't think the pick lacked zip. The DB is one of the best in the league. I give him some credit.
  13. I can wait till hell freezes over, and I think I might have to in your case.
  14. So who do you want? A person, not a concept. Cat got your tongue?
  15. A lot of these Smith posts make no sense. Alex Smith is a good starting calibre NFL QB. Something not seen in Blo for a long long time. With AS, another good draft and FA we compete for the division next year. He'd be the perfect mentor to Nate and whoever else we draft. What's not to like? Last time he went for two seconds. Might be worth on second today, or a third and a seventh? If Andy takes a third great. Dont know about this year's QB class. Some say that last year's with Mitch, Watson and Mahomes was quite a bit better. That could be true. To me Rosen will be a good pocket passer. Darnold is very raw and has evident flaws but a higher ceiling. The most intriguing guy is Josh Allen. He has the highest ceiling. If he can read a defence, go through his progressions and process what's going on around him in real time he will be great. I expect that's what scouts and GMs are trying to figure out. I don't think Beane would draft a diminutive QB so Mayfield is not happening IMO. Don't know that Rudolph is good enuf to be taken as "the guy". Maybe they take a kid they like on day three. Would love to know what the thinking is at OBD.
  16. Not imo. McD is young and inexperienced and as a HC makes some mistakes, but he's a good coach who gets his team to buy in. I also think this admin will do a good job of evaluating talent in the draft and in FA. We can expect to be better next year.
  17. Bills are on their way back. Will be better next year. Target? Division champs!
  18. Well I continue to hold out hope for Nate. But I do wish I was as shrewd a judge of talent as some of those guys who already know NP will always suck and should be driven out of the league.
  19. Not possible- I'm a very stable genius. Maybe the biglyist one ever.
  20. Actually this is true. Bills WR do a terrible job of helping out their QB. Happens to Tyrod all the time on broken plays.
