  1. 40 touches? i'd be dancing a friggin' jig if they could get 30!
  2. i was pretty disappointed with the balls thrown his way. hitting this guy quickly while he is already in motion would be great, throwing the ball at his knees at the line of scrimmage when the ball is snapped...ugh, i hate that friggin' play.
  3. there were moments in this game when i was thinking to myself, "what exactly are they trying to accomplish here?".
  4. i think that fitz gets a lot of the blame because of the design of the team going to hell in a handbasket. this team was supposed to be successful because of the pressure that the front four on defense were supposed to bring (which was also supposed to mask our other defensive shortcomings until the unit as a whole had time to gel). also, on offense the team was supposed to be a more ground and pound style of team with freddy back and healthey and cj gaining valuable experience last year. injuries to freddy and cordy glenn and craig urbik have really hurt at times this year, and along with the dissapointment of the defensive front have put fitz in the situations we were trying to avoid. if he were just running the offense i think he would be fine. asking him to win us ball games...not so much. just my opinion, i could be wrong.
  5. i still like donald jones quite a bit. he has speed and strength and has seemingly worked on his hands to the point of being reliable. he has earned the position he is in. tj graham does need to get in there and get some touches, he has flashed some good things out there, and i think it's up to the coaches to design some plays to take advantage of his speed and quickness.
  6. i generally don't. and as far as affecting my mood, it's strange, but the positive effects from a win last much longer than the negatives of a loss.
  7. astro, i didn't recognize you! i was just reading down the line and i thought to myself, "hey this sounds like something astro would say?. then of course....d'ho! guess i should read as well as look at pictures.
  8. if i recall correctly, he brought some excitement back to buffalo in a time when we sorely needed it. watching him at his best was a lot of fun, at his worst, not so much. but thank you for your service and happy half century!
  9. this man is not trying to disrespect the fans on my opinion. to me, he's a guy that is extremely frustrated with himself and has a standard for himself that he is not living up to. from what i've heard from mario, he is not the smoothest guy when trying to express himself, and i can see where he may come across as extremely arrogant and uncaring, almost contemptuous. he knows he has to play a lot better, and he knows that his team is counting on him. but he also lives in a completely different world than we do. having said that, i hope that he comes out pissed and inspired after the bye.
  10. not really much of either, just a poor schlubb that loves my bills.
  11. you may have been thinking that you are really getting annoyed with all of the completely negative posts out there right now. look on the front page and it's all about who sucks, who's a bum, who needs to be fired, who's done with this team and why annyone who still loves the bills and wants to root this team on is a moron. i commend you for trying to bring a little light to the darkness that is overshadowing TBD these days.
  12. then why watch this team play? why not just take a break and have someone let you know when they are good again, or gone?
  13. he may not be, but i am 37, a bills lifer, and always billieve there is a chance. i may be setting myself up for more and more sports heartache. but i can't do it any other way.
  14. i believe i qualify as a noob, at least partially. but i've been around long enough to have read and enjoyed a few of your posts. so i thank you for your time and wish you well. and, i hope that someday soon the bills will make you want to shout!...something other than profanities.
  15. there is a chance. what needs to be done is going to be an extreme uphill battle against overwhelming odds, but there is always a chance. whether or not it can be done is almost irrelevant. i will always hope, i will always billieve, and as long as they are still the BUFFALO bills, i will love this team.
  16. i agree with the op that if they can come together, buy into the system and play as a team, then the season is still very much alive. the boys in blue really need to use the bye week to take a step back and look at themselves and find out what they are truly made of. here's to hoping...
  17. so...when are the regular officials coming back?
  18. yes, the defense was awful today. they didn't give up 600 yards or 50 points but they were dreadful. as far as "when it mattered most", i think that with the ball in your hand and the game on the line, that's when it "matters most". should it have come to that? hell no! did it come down to that? unfortunately, yes.
  19. it wasn't just the pick, but the ineffective drive with 1 minute and game to go. once again, having said that, i am still a fitz guy. the defense is definately the reason we lost, i'm just stating the argument that fitz didn't win it with the opportunity.
  20. i would have to say that i refer to his brother because if you take him out of the equation then a few posters here are inferring that he is a fat, lazy, unmotivated slob and i just don't think that that is the case.
  21. i am a fitz supporter, but i actually think that this game really did come down to fitz. he played really well for most of the game, but when it mattered most he was at his worst. i really wanted this to be the game that got his confidence back and got the fans and media to get off his back a little bit, but, i think he is in for a rough couple weeks. having said that, i still support him.
  22. yeah, i think most of us, especially in hindsight (cue the captain!), would have liked to see chan stick to his "i'd ;ike to run it a lot more" philosophy and just run to the end of the game and a victory. then we could be enjoying a 4-3 record and the ressurgence of the ground game and a great manage-the-game performance by fitz. but, crap...
  23. i guess what was trying to get at was that he has always had the large lower body, but right now it seems to have a bit more jiggle to it and he doesn't seem to be moving it around as well.
  24. he's always looked heavy, but he doesn't seem to be carrying his weight as well, if that makes sense. i'm not going to get down on him at all because of what he's going through. but i do hope he can come to peace with it, and i believe that when he does, that is when the "beast" will return. in a sense, he must heal the man before he can unleash the monster.
