  1. by that time most of the guys you really have to overpay to get should be signed. but also, the market should be set for the mid level guys and maybe the guys that thought they would get huge offers will be starting to come back down to earth a bit. i really kind of hope the go for the "good fit" guy rather than the "big name" guy. but if they go for a guy that's both, i'm good with that too.
  2. just get the biggest, strongest, fastest guy with great hands in the prime of his carreer that comes on the cheep. aw heck, grab 2 or 3.
  3. i'm more interested in how he throws the ball and how he sees the field. things like anticipating his recievers breaks and feeling the pressure in the pocket. knowing when to run seems more important than how fast you run. having said all that, after watching qb's of varying speeds run free through the bills' defense this past year, i understand the effect a decent set of wheels can have.so, to make a short story long, it doesn't mean more than the rest of the qb skills, but it is a nice compliment. that's kinda what i was trying to say but got caught in a ramble.
  4. would this be a better situation than drafting chance warmack if levitre leaves? it seemed to me that glenn showed a lot of promise last year and did not seem out of place at tackle. all i'm asking is which combo better serves this team?
  5. i think we love the players that are cut/let walk and hate all the players that are signed to extentions. bills pro bowlers (alternates) are bums and the players that get snubbed are underapperciated. black is white, up is down and we are only happy when we are miserable. and we always need at least one player, one coach, and one member of management to blame all of our problems on. i am so done with this team...championship!
  6. it just seems to me that if he were really good, he would cost a lot more than a third. and if the eagles are willing to part with him for a third, seems safe to say we should have no part of that deal.
  7. i heard and interview with barkley on jim rome a while ago. didn't really push the meter one way or the other. i also remember and interview rome did with geno smith earlier in the year and he really impressed me with the way he came across as a bright kid with a lot of interests.
  8. no thanks. sandcastle has speed and agility, but i hear he is the biggest p@$$y to put on a pair of spikes since dieon sanders. not to mention his overinflated sense of self worth that is inevitably leading to multiple holdouts. as for mr. wilson, you're a class act and i wish you nothing but the best.
  9. now imagine where that draft would rank if the bills would have used the pick they used on maybin to go a different direction, almost any direction.
  10. i dodn't remember the event itself, but the movie was pretty good. i imagine for anyone around at the time and able to understand the magnitude of the accomplishment, it must have been incredible.
  11. it would just feel wrong. it would be like bizarro world and i'd want to boo him every time he made a play, and then i'd have to slap myself and say "oh, wait...crap!"
  12. dieon sanders is the greatest player of all time, just ask him, he'll tell you. and that's only one reason i can't stand him.
  13. no thanks. he's getting older, has been dropping quite a few balls in critical moments, his wife or girlfriend seems to have no brain-to-mouth filter. and if that's not enough for you, there's always that patriot taint that's on him like the stink of a dead fish in a hot trunk.
  14. i'm still fearful that if you wait until pick 10 in round 2, then the guy you wanted, along with your 2nd and possibly 3rd choices will be gone as well. in a draft that is argueably very thin at qb, i am of the opinion that that makes it even more important to identify your guy and take him early.
  15. just given the physical and extremely violent nature of the game, wouldn't this be like a stuntmen's union sueing for arthritis? or is this a very serious issue surrounding the possible psychotic disorders stemming from years of brain trauma? guess it depends on whether you are a "glass is half full" or "glass is half full of p!$$" kind of guy.
  16. i'm actually conflicted on this one. part of me wants the cheaters to be punished and not be allowed to compete because they are breaking the rules and gaining an advantage on those that are doing it "the right way". the other part of me thinks that these are grown men and they can put whatever the hell they want in their bodies because in the end, they may be trading years of their lives for millions of dollars now. so one part of me really wants to yell at the other side, i just don't know which one it is.
  17. for me, i don't really think that the marijuana in itself is as much of a problem as the extremely poor decision making. regardless of my (or anyone's) opinion on marijuana or it's laws, if you choose to smoke pot in college you could risk money and draft status in the nfl. and if you smoke a lot of pot, get thrown off your team, go into rehab only to come out of it and keep smoking more pot...then i would say you are pretty much pissing away not only a prestigious carreer, but a lifestyle most of us can only dream of. maybe if we had a 7th rounder i would take the chance, but we don't, so i wouldn't. but hey, i've been wrong before.
  18. if it truly is a necessary evil to keep the bills in buffalo, then i am fine with it.
  19. it's because of the potential run on quarterbacks that i really think that the bills will have to identify the guy they like the most and grab him at 8. i would absolutely love a trade down/back up into the 1st, however you need willing partners and you also have to hope that no other team is trying to pull off the same thing. also, if you try to pull this of but the qb(s) that you like have all been taken, that leaves you with fitz, free agents or a trade. but...who knows what will happen?
  20. i have always liked the red helmets, i grew up watching the bills of the late 80's and early nineties. the uniforms were great with the red, white and blue. the exciting teams and constant playoff and superbowl appearances didn't hurt either. but having said that, i like the look of the white helmets. just get rid of the collars on the unis and i'll be happy.
  21. very good points. a big, physical guy that can punish db's as well as help out as a blocker is a wonderful weapon to have. not to mention, a good tight end is usually a qb's best friend. and if the bills are going to grab a rookie qb, i'd like to see a couple big targets for him to rely on.
  22. this seems to be pretty accurate. hopefully the guy they want is there for them at 8. pull the trigger and make the best of it!
  23. i was very impressed with bolden, he just looked to be so much stronger than anyone trying to defend him. big, strong dude with stickum hands, yeah, i'll take one of those.
