  1. i really like the sound of this combo, potentially a very fast moving, hard hitting pairing. also potentially a bit over aggressive? could be fun. with this news, i am just hoping that someone on the coaching staff is nudging a veteran or two to kinda take mr. rogers under their wing and keep some positive influences in his life. i would love for this kid to turn into a great story of turning one's life around. and even though they're only in shorts, it sounds like chemistry is being made here.
  2. overall it seemed a bit overdone. but i'll be laughing about "he put blood, sweat and cry into it" for a long long time.
  3. i wouldn't think any of these players would be cut because of age. if anything, a few may be cut because they are not at the top of their position group. fred is still a good player who i think has a few great plays left. bryon scott offers versatility. lindell may have some stiff competition and t.jackson seems to have a steep hill to climb for the no. 2 qb job (i doubt they would keep him as no. 3). and if the youngsters pass pears by in ability i wouldn't be surprised to see him go. and as far as not signing any vets over 30, i don't know as there were any of them on the market that they would consider to be of good value. we'll see what happens after camp cuts around the league.
  4. i strongly disagree with this. the bolded really has me wondering about your place among us in the human race.
  5. i would agree with this. there is nothing to indicate anyone should be worried right now.
  6. i am a bit of 2, 3, 5, 6, 11, and then after the game, a 20. wow, no wonder i'm a bit messed up.
  7. then let's hope they are throwing out two losses!
  8. not remotely, it is the presentation of false information meant to boost the confidence of bill belichick. this guy will be cocky as ever and the bills will be primed to pounce. the gloves are off and the patsies are going to be taking one right on the chin in week one!
  9. well, there could be situations that call for five of these guys on the field at the same time. and people will need a breather from time to time. regardless, it'll be troup's job to show the coaches that he needs to be in this group when the final cuts are made. i wish him the best as he seems like a good kid that caught a bad break. but the onus is squarely on his shoulders now.
  10. i;m going to say that the team will show flashes but also take their lumps. growing pains at times are going to be incredibly painful. but, i believe in this coaching staff and the direction they are trying to go, and i think there is definate talent on this team. worst case scenerio- 5 wins and a lot of pain. best case-9 wins, significant growth and a feeling of good things to come. homer goggles-11 wins, dominate the division, and show brady and belichick there's a new sheriff in town. and of course i am wearing my goggles!
  11. just taking a stab...because he has apparent physical ability, a noted work ethic, high character, intelligence, desire, and most importantly, he is OUR qb. if this team has even modest success this year and he is a part of it, then the national media will be giving him credit he deserves and probably some he doesn't. it will be a story, and we know how the talking heads love a story. so you're saying there's a chance!
  12. he was very diplomatic in saying that nothing was set in stone and that it was only running around in shorts, but yes, he did seem to be very happy with his young linebacker thus far. raw does indicate that there is ability there, and that if refined could develop into something great. and second round is not exactly an udfa that you take a flier on. do i expect these two to run away with rookie of the year honors, no. but i do think we will see some very nice things out of both. and hey, you never know.
  13. completely true. CJ needs to get the majority of the rb touches because of the shiftiness and breakaway speed. he really could be a superstar in this league. and freddy should get his as well, there should be plenty to go around. spiller has the speed and the moves, freddy has that grit and veteran savvy. both can break runs in their own way and both are very good out of the backfield as receiving options. i really think that the majority of freddy's fumbles last year came on the 5th, 6th, and 7th efforts. he was really trying to do to much. i admire and respect him trying to do everything in his power to get the win, but there comes a time when you have to just go down. much like a qb holding the ball to long or forcing the throw when he feels like he has to take it all on himself. there is a time and a place, but you really have to pick your spots.
  14. for whatever you want to say about stevie, it seems that he really understands the relationship between the fans of the bills, the community of wny, and their team. he just seems to embrace it all and i believe that is why we love us some stevie!
  15. absolutely agree that CJ needs as many touches as he can handle, and with the addition of some of the weapons around him, he may be even more dangerous this year. but, as good as he is, and as good as he could be, i think freddy is still very important to this team. his value to the locker room should not be taken lightly, his role as a mentor to the youngsters, and just the drive and work ethic he has shown throughout his carreer. he may be approaching the end of his carreer, but i believe he still has tremendous value as a player on this team.
  16. i've been waiting for this guy to emerge for a while now, but in fairness, i've been waiting for the coaching staff to figure out what to do with him. i hope this staff finds a home for him and that he is comfortable with it because i still think he can be an asset to this team, aside from his giant paws blocking kicks.
  17. does this mean that in between picks we could watch new episodes of "ow, my bawlz"?! sign me up dude, i got my gatorade ready cuz it's got electrolites!
  18. i have no issues with choice really. it's just kind of a matter of in with the new right now. believe me, i don't subscribe to the notion that everyone on the roster before 3 weeks ago is crap, i'm just hoping to have as much competition as possible for all of these positions. and i do like a fullback with speed who can run it from time to time. i loved c-mac, but if the bills are looking for a more multi-dimentional fullback, then let's get one!
  19. and rookie gm of the year! rookie president? what odds are we getting on the sweep?
  20. low center of gravity and fast could be interesting, those bowling ball types can be hard to tackle.
  21. you're right, guess i should just leave well enough alone.
  22. i'll buy into your premise not only because i am a huge optimist and full-time kool-aid drinker, but also because if the bills improve to a modest team these players have a great chance to be recognized and even hyped by the national media. all of the new organizational structure, coaching staff, and a lot of young players led by a rookie qb could have a lot of people taking notice if this team were to leap up to the middle of the pack.
  23. i am absolutely excited. but, i am not expecting a deep playoff run this year. i am expecting to see a new attitude overall for this team, and i am expecting to see some leaders emerge. i am also expecting a healthy dose of growing pains to go along with some flashes of talent this year. regardless of record, i think we, as bills fans, will be entertained and should feel a bit better about the future.
