Sammy Watkins Vs. Ohio State
swnybillsfan replied to buffalover4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
from this highlight film and others i have seen, i love the way he runs with the ball after it is in his hands. the blend of speed, agility, balance and power is really something special. can't wait to watch the red, white and blue highlight film at the end of the season! -
Doug Whaley Approval Poll
swnybillsfan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think under the current model, the coaching staff/front office are counting on EJ to be a game manager/distributor, and grow into a franchise quarterback. then i think that alcohol sales in the western ny area will be at record highs and the readability of this board will be at an all time low. -
Doug Whaley Approval Poll
swnybillsfan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
definitely approve. all of this moving and shaking may or may not work out, but he definitely has an aggressive plan and i like it! -
the potential seems to be there for the best five of these guys to be a punishing, mauling type of o-line that can impose their will and tire out a defense. obviously this is a best case scenario, but there does seem to be a nice blend of beef and ability with the guys we are all hoping emerge as the starters. certainly they should be capable of opening some good holes for our running back stable, it would be a thing of beauty to watch this team get a lead and be able to just shove a defense down the field.
-
i am still pretty happy with chandler. while not a player that strikes fear into the hearts of opposing defenses, he has shown an ability to find a seam in the defense and has had fairly reliable hands. i know last year he had a couple of very inopportune drops/fumbles, but for most of his buffalo bills career he has been steady. the others are complete unknowns, but as long as we have chandler, i feel ok.

I am drinking the Whaley Kool aid and it is gooood!
swnybillsfan replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i agree that whaley has done everything he possibly could to stack the deck in this team's favor, it is now on the coaches and players to make it happen. if this team does come together, it will be a thing of beauty! -
i just love the fact that whaley seems to be bombarding certain positions with talent. a lot of this talent has a certain amount of risk attatched to it. But if only half of these guys pan out, i think we'll be in really good shape. i also really liked the fact that whaley really seemed to be dictating his way through the draft rather than letting the draft "come to him". very aggressive, and whether it works or not, i am happy with enthusiasm in which he attacked this draft.

there has also been talk of dixon taking on the duties of FB in this offense, for whatever that is worth.
-
i really hope these two are on the right side together and just blow some people up. this seems like the plan of running people into the ground and having the defense gasping and back on their heels in the fourth quarter. beat them down and then unleash sammy, spiller and the flash!
-
the thought of what this offense could become if half of the what-ifs pan out is very exciting. it sounds like it will all start up front with a gang of maulers that have a bit of nasty to them. i love this draft, and i really want richardson to be motivated and if not win a spot, push the ever-loving crap out of the guy ahead of him. lost in that group of non threatening tight ends is the fact that lee smith is a great blocker and that chandler is a very good reciever. if the are playing completely complimentary roles, i think they will provide plenty of production. and i am really hoping these maulers are going to open some GAPING holes for our platoon of running backs.

RD3, Pick #73: Preston Brown ILB, Louisville
swnybillsfan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i was kinda hoping for a te in this draft, but i am happy with brown. i think he brings a lot more to the team than any of the tight ends that were left on the board at that time. -
RD2, Pick #44: T Cyrus Kouandjio - University of Alabama
swnybillsfan replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i can't remeber who said this, but a while ago on wgr one of their guests was talking about linemen and said something i couldn't get out of my head..."out of all this year;s offensive linemen coming out for the draft, nobody moves the pile like kouandjio." (i have to think i am paraphrasing there, the the jist is there) -
Doug Marrone and the Culture he is Creating
swnybillsfan replied to The Plunge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i like doug marrone quite a bit. but beyond the Xs and Os, the most important thing he can do is get all his guys believing in what they are trying to accomplish and how they are going about doing it. also, he has to get them to believe in each other. as i have said, i like marrone a lot, and i liked the compete level they showed last year. hopefully he and doug whaley are on the same page and are in the process of building something great. -
also, who's to know what kind of performance he would have given playing, unhappily, on another franchise deal? would he be playing all out, or would there be an underlying element of self preservation?
-
i can't disagree with this, but i feel so bad i don't know if i can, in good conscience, rip on my brown fan friends. who am i kidding, i will be giving them the business.
-
i am really feeling confident in doug whaley and his staff right now, and after these next couple picks come in i have a feeling i will be even more confident in his ability and vision.
-
can't help but feel bad for browns fans. they really are pushing for most cursed sports franchise, if they hadn't clinched it already.
-
i would love niklas here. he is a big target (6'6" 265lbs.), has good hands, and can help out with the blocking. i wouldn't mind a trade down here, but i would rather just take the extra pick right here and now. we know we are short handed next year, but they are going for it right now.

unless he leap frogs graham i think it means he is now auditioning for 31 other teams. -
RD1, Pick #4: WR Sammy Watkins - Clemson
swnybillsfan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it is definitely costly, but foolish? only time will tell, but i like it. it's on par with "kiko see ball, kiko get ball". -
RD1, Pick #4: WR Sammy Watkins - Clemson
swnybillsfan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hell yeah, let's make a playoff push and then see who wants to go and who wants to stay. -

don't care about the agent, i care about the person/player. the agent executes the wishes of that guy, not the other way around. byrd wanted to go elswhere and peters was a dooosh...that is all. -
RD1, Pick #4: WR Sammy Watkins - Clemson
swnybillsfan replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i am happy giving up next year's 1 rather than this year's 2 just because i know what i want in round 2 this year, and i have no idea what is gonna be there for the 32nd pick in next year's draft! -
