  1. i saw eastern promises listed above, how about "a history of violence"? vigo was pretty good in that one as well.
  2. i believe that i have heard it explained that a large part of their hurry up philosophy is about pushing on the defense with the offensive line at a fast pace. the theory being that by run blocking early and often, you are being aggressive and have a chance to wear defenses out, making them more susceptible to the big play.
  3. Smoking Aces. never really heard of it when it came out but i really enjoyed it.
  4. one of my favorites. there are so may parts of that movie that had me laughing out loud with no one around.
  5. i loved "frailty". it was such a well done movie, and i got sucked right into the movie...and of course you're going to like your suggestion the best.
  6. does "idiocracy" count as a sleeper? that's another movie that i had never heard of before having watched it. that is always the best, seeing a movie and having no preconceived bias or opinion. and by the way, "idiocracy" is one of the scariest movies i have ever seen. just imagine that future!
  7. my all time favorite chick flick was "definitely, maybe". don't know if it qualifies as a sleeper, but there was just something about that movie. maybe it's ryan reynalds, because i also really liked "just friends". both really good as far as romantic comedies go.
  8. whatever it was, i really liked that one. and it flew completely under my radar as i had never heard of it until a couple years after it was out and was very pleasantly surprised by it. i have never seen the greek wedding...seemed a bit too chick-flicky just by the title.
  9. little miss sunshine.
  10. i was one of those.
  11. i think he was trying to say that the op's stance is much better than the constant p!$$ing into the punchbowl that has been happening quite a bit around here whenever someone wants to let loose with a bit of optimistic pondering...he did start his statement with "it's better than..."
  12. "Waiting". if you have not seen this movie...you need to see it.
  13. i have only seen bits and peices of L.A. Confidential, but i love guy pierce in everything i have seen him in...and i am a russel crowe fan as well. "Dragons" was a quirky movie with lots of flavor and character that was just right in my wheelhouse. and the biggest beef i had with the transformers movies was just the fact that i do not like shia labouf. loved the action and the FX, and always love me some john turturro, but i kept waiting for the song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf_qfX9cKsQ
  14. Cannibal: the musical.
  15. not really sure about that...the feast movies were just action packed, vulgar, offensive gore-fests with some gratuitous nudity thrown in. kind of a collection of monster movie throwbacks that parodied itself a bit by not taking itself too seriously.
  16. Boondock Saints once qualified for this. Ravenous, Shaun of the dead, Feast I, II, and III.Lock, stock, and two smoking barels. Memento, Clive Barker's Nightbreed. And recently i watched a movie called Oldboy that was all kinds of disturbing.
  17. i have a soft spot for the transformers since i grew up with the toys and the cartoon. loved how to train your dragon so i am really looking forward to the sequel. 21 jumpstreet for me came right after the transformers, so this has nostalgic value as well, but i really enjoyed the 21 jumpstreet of a few years ago. guy peirce is one of my favorite actors because of movies like Memento, the Count of monte cristo and of course Ravenous, but he also seems to pick a clucnker from time to time.
  18. those actually look pretty cool. i assume they are not on the list of contraband that is barred from the stadium.
  19. does it count that you just mentioned it? this sounds about right. bunch of guys having "minor procedures" to get things "cleaned up".
  20. how 'bout jack black and kyle gas? we could be known as Tenacious B!
  21. can't do it. there is just no possible way for me to pick one movie as my favorite. i don't even think i could pick one favorite per genre.
  22. one of my favorites. don't know how much the older crowd here would like it, but it is a great remake of seal's "crazy" as done by mushroomhead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhOUo2DWOWs
  23. freddy's game is not as a speedster. he makes the most of what is there and often times something out of nothing. he will not outrun or juke many but with a head of steam and a view of what lies ahead he is still incredibly dangerous. if this o-line can open some holes and give him a clean first few steps...man, i would love to see that!
  24. i see what you are saying, but whaley is doing everything i would want my gm to do, and that is why i say i strongly approve.
