  1. i think you gotta leave hogan where he is. he has clawed his way this far and i think that he deserves to get every available snap at the spot he has fought for and earned. there is definitely a role for him on this team and i don't think that it is in the defensive backfield. get him involved in the offensive gameplan and watch him go.
  2. i am going to optimistically trust that the front office is amassing talent at the skill positions knowing that the youngsters on the o-line and at te are progressing more than we know and also that they have lined up some under the radar free agents and have scouted extremely heavily in these areas for the upcoming draft. remember, there is a very fine line between optimism and alcoholism!
  3. i am really hoping that ej wins the job and plays well. i think he is a great kid with a lot of physical talent, i just really want to see him "let it loose", whatever that means. i guess i would like to see him try to make plays and play with a bit of fire rather than trying to "play it safe". i guess i just want a definitive answer on him one way or the other, but i am absolutely hoping he is our man.
  4. if memory serves here, i believe i remember some freakshow...j.j. something or other...bending the entire buffalo bills offense over a barrel and making them squeal. i still have nightmares.
  5. well, at least i can root for fitz when he plays the pats and dolphins.
  6. and all three are very large human beings. hopefully with the right combination of talent, ambition, coaching, and cohesion, these boys can turn into something. i really loved that whaley drafted these big boys last year, and i really want to believe that they are a salvageable group, whether starters or back ups. having said that, draft a couple more and maybe a tight end or two and let's see who is standing when the smoke clears.
  7. am i the only one here that actually enjoys schopp and the bulldog?
  8. this one has the opposite effect on me. i loved this album when it came out but i can't listen to axel rose anymore. his voice attacks my ears like fingernails on a blackboard. but that's just me.
  9. how many still have bon jovi IN their music collection?
  10. i have to go with tool. i have always liked them but there was a point where i threw on some headphones and started a sculpting project in school(about 7-8 years after the album's release). the album was aenima, and listening to everything without any outside interference was absolutely incredible. from that day forward they were much more than just a band to me.
  11. not the heaviest band, not the heaviest song, but i like it quite a bit.
  12. i really like this cover of a-ha's take on me.
  13. ok, i guess i have to go with the hard rock/metal covers here... mushroomhead-crazy (seal) machine head-hallowed be thy name (iron maiden) volbeat-angelf@ck (misfits) disturbed-land of confusion (phil collins) devil driver-sail (awolnation) and it's not metal, but i absolutely love the dave matthews band version on "all along the watchtower" and stevie ray vaughan doing "little wing".
  14. for the most part, i really don't like the jim rome show. he conducts some really good interviews, but his opinions and delivery are just not for me. i would much rather have another local show in that slot. hell, bring back the hobby and throw it in there for three hours. (but only if tom sitch gets an hour for comic book and super hero stuff)
  15. i would definitely not cut freddy jackson. what he brings to this team is so much more than just on field production (which i think he has plenty left, just use it wisely!). and i believe that manny lawson has plenty to offer in the rex ryan 3-4 base defense. i am sure there is some fat you could trim, but i would hope you are looking elsewhere.
  16. this is rather troubling. if this guy is constantly making these horrible life decisions while in the NFL, what kind of choices will he be making when he doesn't have a job in the league? this young man apparently has problems on top of his issues.
  17. seems to me that manny lawson was a very good player in pettine's scheme, which is derived from rex's scheme, therefore he should be primed for a perceived bounceback year. lawson is long and rangy, and can be a real asset for this defense. brains, work ethic and length should be a good combination.
  18. i kinda hope that the rams have their second coming of the "greatest show on turf", and that nate hackett is happy and on his way to becoming a respected oc in the league. i have really enjoyed everything i heard from coach hackett. he seems like a good guy that the players all like and respect, and it definitely seems he was held down by his head coach. i really would love to see this guy become the second best oc in the league next year, behind roman, of course.
  19. i have to go with barry sanders here. the man did things on the field i have never seen another human being do. he was the greatest running back, and most spectacular athlete i have ever seen play the game.
  20. i would be very interested to see what nathaniel hackett would do if left to his own devises. the guy speaks with energy and enthusiasm and his players seem to have a really high opinion of him. and the general opinion of him has been that he has a good understanding of the game and has innovative ideas. the million dollar question is whether or not that was his vision of the offense or coach marrone's. seemingly it was the latter, but who knows.
  21. i think it would be very beneficial to see what a different coach (coaches, staff) could do with ej manuel. everything that anyone liked about the kid is still there (arm, size, mobility? work ethic, attitude) so it makes sense to think that somebody with a different approach may be able to tap into that potential. bring in some more competition and let the new coach and his staff decide who is the best man for the job.
