  1. i am revisiting the cordy glenn giddiness just thinking of this.
  2. i think they are going to evaluate everything this year and if need be, pull out all the stops for a qb next year. i guess i am fine with that. maybe tyrod, cardale, and a flyer on kelly or some other late round qb this year?
  3. i wanted mahomes. now i have to really hope he sucks, or i will be a special kind of miserable.
  4. i am almost completely the opposite. i want them to get a qb at 10, or else just roll with cardale as the developmental guy. of course there are exceptions, but this is my gut feeling/knee jerk (pre) reaction.
  5. in the simplest terms, i really hope they pick a thrower of the football or a catcher of the football. i want to billieve that this team is going to join the modern nfl with all the rules shifted toward the forward passing game.
  6. i am definitely intrigued by mahomes. watching some of his footage, he almost seems to have a bit of the ol' "flutie magic" to his game. my thought is simple that if you do not have that qb on your roster that is undoubtedly "your guy", you need to keep looking for him. and you have to swing the bat to get the big hit, so there is that.
  7. i just don't see any scenario where we can get the first pick. our guy is a life long coach, who just got his first head coaching job. his strength is supposed to be attention to detail. i think the team may be, overall, a bit more focused this year. even with losses, injuries, and a tough schedule, i expect this team to do at least as well as they did last year, and if things go right, we may be "in the hunt" through thanksgiving. and if there is a qb that is worth the first pick in the draft next year, i cannot see how anyone would ever trade out of that spot.
  8. this is where i am. after going to the white helmets, i do not ever want to go back to the red. and those color rush unis...we definitely lost a bet to someone, somewhere. those things are hideous.
  9. there is nothing wrong with being optimistic and hopeful about the upcoming season. i mean, this is our team. if you don't have at least a little faith, and hope, what's the point? i mean, i guess that you could just be that guy that walks around peeing in everybody's punch bowl.
  10. before his passing, i loved the man for keeping our Bills in Buffalo. after his passing, the stories of his generosity, kindness, and passion came out, and i felt a substantial sense of loss and pride. even now, when i think of all that Ralph C. Wilson JR, has given us, i can't help but feel a bit misty eyed. thank you Mr. Wilson.
  11. i was actually wondering about this. if the offense is truly designed to suit his strengths, there is no reason he can't have a "breakout" season. the man does have strengths, and if his weaknesses are minimized, who knows?
  12. i know nothing of this man, yet i really want him to be on my team this year. just the size and what i have been reading from the good folks at TBD make me think this would be a nice pick up. i would love to have a bunch of good weapons to surround our qb with.
  13. i am so done with... my unbalanced desire for this team to get a great TE stems from having watched this team get exploited by great TEs. and also by some pretty good TEs that the team decided to make look like HOFers on a given sunday. i like chris gragg. he kinda seems like a charles clay clone. to what degree, i have no idea. but he is about the same size, and has a similar skill set. i would not be opposed to having gragg come back and ideally, (if he progressed and took the "next step") having multiple "multiple" TEs.
  14. wasn't he here when cb db was a strength for our team? seems like we had quantity AND quality in the defensive backfield for a while. and it wasn't that we thought he was bad, he was just further down the depth chart with a lot of talent above him.
  15. buddy nix and chan gailey were so much fun to listen to. they were an absolute hoot! and the team itself was a bunch of lovable underdogs. i kept hoping they would just make it to the playoffs because i thought they deserved it. chan really seemed to get the most out of his guys, but there were serious limitations. buddy just might have taken one too many laps on the retirement tour. and yeah...stupid phone call!
  16. thanks. always makes me feel good to put a smile on somebody's face. man, i will always have a soft spot for fitz. and for stevie. fitz just seemed like a great guy to sit and have a beer with. and stevie really seemed to embrace buffalo. i always loved having these guys and freddy on my team. hard working overachievers. and did you know that fitz went to harvard? and actually wore his wedding ring on gamedays?
  17. i like the idea of two TE sets. especially when the two TEs can block well and be a threat, not just an option, but a threat, in the passing game. i am with ya here. i would love for the team to take a stab at the most important position in the game. but i also like the "stocking the offensive weaponry cupboard" philosophy of taking a freakish TE in the first. i guess my dream scenario is this guy howard (or one of the stud WRs) in the first, and have Mahomes fall to us in the second. but i think with whaley in "win now" mode, qb may not be a priority.
  18. i would be happy with him at 10. i have never seen him play, but i like the idea of a big, fast TE to put on the field. but i only like this idea if we are going to have an offense that is going to pass the ball a lot. if we are a run heavy offense this pick would just make me incredibly mad, because of the lack of use.
  19. yes. i liked brad smith. at least, i liked the idea of brad smith. but i have seen what NE has done to us forever with TEs and i really want one of this big bastards on our team. of course, then i kinda need a qb who will throw him the damn ball!
  20. for some reason, whenever i think about these converted QBs...i think of all the wacky gadget plays that could be run. but then i think back to the mularkey days and want to shove something very sharp into my eye. having said that, i love an underdog and who wouldn't love to have a 6'6" athletic TE on the field?
  21. i work in olean. love the Beef n Barrel. just thinking of that beef makes me drool like Homer J. Simpson dreaming of donuts!
  22. my concern with this is whether or not we can get that level of play (but with a higher ceiling, using more of the field) from a rookie in this year's draft, and whether or not the front office is willing to take that risk.
  23. oh, but what a wonderful snack it is! and it leaves room for a beef on weck!
