Bold prediction : Tyrod will get traded if...
swnybillsfan replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i was actually pondering whether or not peterman might be a better "fit" for this offense eventually. his strengths seem to be more in step with this west coast-ish offense, and especially after they traded sammy away and picked up what many are calling another "possession type" receiver in matthews. with a strong run game and an increased emphasis in the short to intermediate throws (conceivably over the middle), might peterman (whom all the expert draft guys were calling the most nfl ready qb) be the guy to run this offense until "the guy" is selected by the new staff? -
i would hope that the new regime would be honest and up front with him. he has been a great player, a great person, and by all accounts a great teammate and leader. it is apparent to anyone who has watched him play that he gives his all every time he takes the field. he and fred jackson are two of my all time favorites to ever put on a bills uniform. yes they get paid millions to play a game, and yes it is "a business". but these are people. some good, some bad, and some that transcend the game. some are more than just a football player. when i think of what a true buffalo bill is, i think of kyle williams. i would love to see this man lead this team onto the field for a playoff game at the ralph...new era field. but whatever happens, his name better be up on that wall the moment he retires. thank you kyle, for everything. i think people like kyle because he is a buffalo bill, and a really good one at that. but i think people LOVE kyle williams, because of the human being he is.

Beane & McD Press Conferences
swnybillsfan replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i like to think that this is about finding the right fit and value for the team. i have no idea what these guys' attitudes were like off the field, no idea what their commitment was, how much of an influence (good or bad) they had on their teammates, or how much money they were seeking in the near future. but i do like everything i have heard from the new staff, and i like the way they are situating themselves for next year's draft. i think this year may be hard, but at least it feels like there is a definite plan in place, and i love that! -
LAMP Look at what I just got!

that is very awesome. i always liked naaman. seemed like a good guy. great story. and to have an action figure made of you...that is awesome! -
i am in this neighborhood. i remember watching brown in the beginning of his career, thinking this kid could be a really solid player for years to come. then rex came to town and brown looked lost at times. he also seemed to be a lesser athlete in rex's defense. i have no idea how, or why, or if i was just imagining things...but i just kept thinking "this is NOT the same kid that was flying all over making plays in schwartz's defense". i believe he is a much better football player than he has shown the past couple years.

I'll say this for Fitzy
swnybillsfan replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think this is right. we see other qbs, great qbs, make similar decisions but throw lazer beams and get away with it. a bad decision with brilliant execution can make for some incredible plays. fitz didn't have the arm or the accuracy to thread the needle through tight coverage, nor did he have the ability to stop himself from trying. being down by multiple scores at times and feeling like he had to put the team on his back and "earn that paycheck" didn't help either. still love the guy. -

i love fitz. seems like a great guy with a terrific sense of humor. by all accounts was a great teammate. he played the qb position as if he had about three times as much talents as what he was given. he has a toughness, and he always gave everything he had. one guy i would absolutely love to have a beer with someday. -
I'm impressed with the stadium wall!
swnybillsfan replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i have always felt a kinship with my fellow buffalo sports fans. and here, at the wall, there are a lot of great personalities. dialogue, discussions, arguments, gentle ribbings, and some downright borderline shenanigans! but, for the most part, the passion...and compassion...shines through. i don't often post, but i check in frequently. and i appreciate all the contributions from every last one of you out there. Cheers Billievers! -
fred jackson is one of my all time favorites. the man has a serious fire. i know he is nearing the end, but... what if freddy signs on for just one more year? what if he has enough left to give a few great effort runs, catches, and key blocks this year? what if the return of fred ex inspires some of our vets to give one last, great push? what if the passion for the game ignites a fire in the youngsters? what if his presence gives some of the emotionally unbalanced and dellusionally optimistic fans a little something extra to cheer for? what if...we win the whole...effing...thing?

What type of coaching do you want to see this year?
swnybillsfan replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i would love for the coach to be strict but fair. tough but positive. work hard but have fun. understand what the way that football is played these days (importance of the passing game). a good understanding of clock management, field position, situational football. i would love to see these working hard and having fun. -
Rumor- Bills will entertain trade offers for Watkins?
swnybillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i am far from a sammy hater. i actually like him a lot. how i feel about what was given up to get him is irrelevant. he is a game changer when healthy and motivated, and i think he really wants to be one of the best ever. but does he want to be a buffalo bill? if the answer is yes, then do what it takes (within reason) to keep him. if not, then get the best possible value while you can. -

all i know is that i have seen teams with great qbs look like they are playing a different sport than we are many of the past years. and i also have vivid images of trent running out of bounds on 4th down, fitzpatrick's flopping ducks (and i love fitz), ej getting his guys cut in half, and tyrod (and i really do like tyrod) not being able to see guys running free down the middle of the field. it is a bit of a dream i have to get a great qb, but i think it is one i have to cling to. -

what i am getting at is that brady has taken a bunch of guys (and yes, gronk is a monster, moss is a HOFer, and the rest are far from bums) and maximized their potential. a qb that can read a defense, anticipate, and hit a receiver in stride, is far more valuable than even the best wr in the game. a great wr can make his qb better, but a great qb can make his whole team better. -

it is but a rumor, and we have no idea what kind of factors are involved here...injuries, attitude, family, finances? i am kinda thinking of it like hockey, don't want to lose him for nothing. -

having been destroyed by tom brady and his band of misfit toys for the past 15 years, i will respectfully offer that if you have the right qb, the rest will fall into place. -

i think i am with you on both counts. both guys seem like good human beings. both have their strengths and limitations. hopefully competition will breed success and let the best man win. 49 now. and i will let the kid take a few practice snaps, and maybe even a couple in a preseason game, before i start piling on. but i am a billiever, and this is the off season...a time of hope, optimism, and pure delusion...so i will dream big! -

he does seem like an incredible d-bag. but i wonder how much is him, and how much is this wrestling heel persona he has created for himself. -
