  1. i am normally delusionally optimistic, but this year i am torn between superbowl and tank. between the tt redemption story, peterman saving us, or grabbing a stud qb and a boat load of talent in next year's draft. subsequently...i have several half full glasses in front of me.
  2. big sam adams rumbling into the endzone. it took an eternity...i was in the stadium and savored every damn second of that! every. damn. second. yeah, but for that day, we were on top of the world!
  3. i love me some freddy jackson. class act, hard worker, huge heart...and just enough talent. i still have fond memories of him stiff arming a dude for about 25 yards down the sideline. freddy had lost a step, and had a habit of trying too hard to fight for the extra yard (and eventually fumbling) toward the end...but he was "a buffalo guy". he understood how much this team meant to the fans and he fed off the energy. he was also an incredible blocker. he left it all on the field every game. i want to see him on the wall! LOVE me some freddy!
  4. i would say there are many, many games where tyrod and the offense did their job, and the defense and/or coaching staff let them down. however, i would also say that i have seen tyrod's limitations as a qb completely hinder the team by not gaining first downs/scores when needed, and given the opportunity. love tyrod as a human being, but i have serious reservations about him as the team's qb. peterman may not ever be more than a backup, but finding out would be a lot mor fun than treading water in another 7-9 season.
  5. or maybe playing tt is a smokescreen and he knows that peterman uses the te a lot!
  6. i will root for every team playing against a team that owes us a draft pick, and eventually...the 2018 buffalo bills!
  7. with the whole "buying in" philosophy, i don't think it is just lip service or a catchy phrase. i think these guys (mcbeane and staff) really want to get a core of guys with not just the talent, but the determination, dedication, drive, and desire to work together to achieve a common goal. i understand that you need talent to win. but i also believe that a collective group that is willing to give everything they have for one another could be an amazing thing.
  8. this is where i land. don't get cute, don't sell the farm. pick the guy you like the most at the spot you have landed in. and may god have mercy on our souls.
  9. so...he was declared starting qb because some watery tart threw a sword at him?
  10. young talent is what will essentially be the "core" of this team. there is something there that did not gel with what the coaching staff/front office believe that core should be made of. whether it be skillset, motivation, love of the game, personality, work ethic,...who knows? but they are definitely rebuilding this team. hopefully when the dust settles, there will be a steady foundation that will last for years to come.
  11. because qbs have to have it in their arsenal to keep defenses honest, and to take advantage of broken coverage. if you cannot go downfield, then the d can just load the box, stop the run, and disrupt all of the short stuff...like teams did with trent and then later, fitz.
  12. for what it's worth, i have really liked what i have seen from reilly. seems like he has enough talent, and more than enough effort.
  13. it depends. does he get a lot of garbage time stats? does he look lost? or does he drive his team down the field late in games? does he have command of the offense? does he spray the ball all around the field with timing, touch, and accuracy? if he is the man, he will show you enough to know what to do.
  14. everything i had heard of him told me he was a good guy. i always wanted him to succeed. i guess i still do. he seemed like a classy guy, just wasn't gifted with the natural size that is probably needed for the nfl life.
  15. that was NOT playoff caliber! it starts with ONE, but that was not the right flippin' one!
  16. do you think that these guys will be heavily involved in the pass game? i mean, get the ball in their hands with a bit of space, good things could happen. i know shady has good hands, and i believe dimarco is supposed to be a decent pass catching fb. j will has been running strong. and tolbert is a battering ram. i kinda hope these guys are collectively used quite a bit in the passing game.
  17. i think i like this much, much better than the red helmet. all blue could be a sweet color rush theme. you could be right. with the proper design, it could be great. but...i hate the all red.
  18. i think there is certainly a lot of that. i also think there is a large contingent of fans who came to see tyrod's limitations as a qb last year and are clamoring for a more traditional qb that operates, and feels comfortable, from the pocket. peterman does not necessarily strike many as the next big thing. but i think he does start the conversation of "could he be a competent qb that could run this offense more effectively than tyrod?"
  19. i think the immediate question is, if tyrod looks bad (or mediocre, limited, ordinary, or without the sought after improvement) and peterman improves upon his performance (shows command, anticipation, and is comfortable running the offense), would the rookie get any work with the first team in this preseason?
  20. it may be more of a system fit/place holder thing some of us are wondering about.
  21. you can either try to billieve, or not. every year i can concoct a scenario theat leads us to a lombardi trophy! delusional optimism can be a wonderful thing!
  22. sorry brother (or sister), i was attached the moment he was drafted.
  23. sammy has super glue hands, i can only hope zay has the same. and when sammy got the ball in his hands, he seemed to transform into a running back. i like sammy, and wish him well (after we get the high 2nd), but zay is the guy wearing the bills jersey now, so he is my guy! here's to hoping!
  24. i voted yes. these guys seem to be just what the pegula's were looking for, and selected by them...not leftovers. not chosen by advisers. chosen by kim and terry. they have a plan. they have conviction. they have faith. whether or not we agree with any of this, i think the pegulas are ready to put their faith in the people they trust and "trust the process".
