  1. the thing have really liked about the new oc is that everyone seems to say this guy actually works to his players' strengths. and while every coach says this about themselves, not a lot of people usually say this about the coach. so i am optimistic about the oc being able to utilize a special skill set.
  2. i am incredibly open to jackson. though, i know nothing about him other than what is posted here and what i hear on the radio. i wouldn't be opposed to a mobile qb, i just don't want a running qb. i am not calling jackson a running qb, but i know that others have. i am definitely intrigued by this guy.
  3. hopefully the people making these decisions are good at differentiating between the two. i really want a qb that can hit someone on the run. i have seen other teams do it, so i know it is within the rules.
  4. that's kinda where i am. i feel really good about the kind of men that mcdermott wants on his team. and i also feel like beane has the right approach when it comes to finding value in the talent. hopefully these guys turn out to be as good as we hope they are.
  5. i was thinking about rodgers, but he was sitting behind favre. if we go with a journeyman veteran, i don't think he will be quite that caliber. but i am really hoping that this staff identifies their guy and goes for it. but i can also appreciate that each qb has his own price. i am sure they would give up much more to grab darnold than they would for rudolph, and i am trusting the process that they will make the right move for this team.
  6. i would be pretty weary of drafting someone that high only to sit him for multiple years, but if he sat for a year, year and a half...that could be fine. i would just be worried that if he is not going to be better than a journeyman, stop gap qb, within the first two years, then this is definitely not the guy we need. but..sitting until the guy is 100% ready to go would be nice. (even though we ridiculously overreactive fans will be screaming for him long, long before he is ready)
  7. i think the best way to move up would be to sprint to the podium before anyone else gets there and yell "DIBS!" and if that doesn't work, i would try a trade.
  8. i don't really know anything about these guys other than what i hear on the radio and read in these posts. but i do like what i have heard about rudolph, and i also like that he could be had without trading anything away. he seems to be a very "safe" or "boring" pick, but i don't see anything wrong with that. if he can execute the offense that our coaches want to run, i would sign up for that. a lot of people have opined that he is a rich man's peterman. i think that could be ok.
  9. i agree with this. i am definitely not somebody that would be involved in the fiery table shenanigans. but bills fans, the real bills fans, are proud to be bills fans through all the tough times. when everybody else picks on the team we stand by them. many of us are strangely proud of the seventeen years of pain, anguish, and losing football games in some of the most creative and excruciating ways possible. it's easy to root for a winner, sticking by your team through the bad times...that's a fan.
  10. i believe we are 'Murica's team. i mean...who else is renowned for setting friends on fire, throwing them through tables, drinking alcohol from orifices, and the public "services" that have been well documented? we are definitely something. but nobody can say that we are not the most passionate fanbase around. or...maybe that we are all just bat crap crazy. either way.
  11. indeed. spread it out and look for the path of least resistance. much better than jumbling up 22 guys in a twenty foot box.
  12. there were a lot of things i loved about Chan's offense. i loved the cast of characters running it also. they were a bunch of lovable underdogs, most of which had more heart than talent. i always said that fitz played the position the way i wanted it played...with lots of guts and gusto. unfortunately he didn't have the best arm, accuracy, or judgement. but i always wondered what that offense would look like with a bit more talent. still have a soft spot for Chan and the boys.
  13. i tend to think that you need a qb that gives you (and more importantly, his coaches and teammates) the feeling that, with the ball in his hands, you are never out of it. there is always a chance. somebody that has the drive, the will, and the ability to lead the team to victory, no matter the situation. i know this is all rather vague and conceptual, but this is the guy you need. just my opinion here.
  14. this is fairly exciting. now, which draftee is best suited to run this type of offense? and can we get this guy?
  15. hate the pats. feel a bit of a kinship towards cleveland and pittsburgh. cleveland because they are cursed, pittsburgh feels like that successful older brother that is a giant douche...but we still hang out on holidays.
  16. heads up play rushing to get to the next snap.
  17. this is why i was screaming for the offense to be a bit more aggressive. i kept feeling like the first TD wins the game.
  18. yes, that was an incredibly generous spot.
  19. yes. yes i am incredibly upset. i kept thinking "we are doing everything we can to lose this game". a piece of my soul dies with every friggin' punt. belligerence is close at hand.
  20. very proud of the boys. the limits of my sanity were tested by that game on multiple fronts. i may not be coherent for much longer. beer is helping me. or hurting me. or killing me. i so wanted this game for kyle williams. damn the refs. damn marrone. and damn you sir punts a lot!
  21. McCoy was an absolute beast all season, including this game. on a good overall team, he is an MVP. tyrod definitely has his limitations, and the game plan was incredibly conservative.
  22. maybe it was all staged. and he was released, knowing he would be picked up by the evil empire. and his mission is to take out brady "accidentally" in practice after feeding belicheat a buttload of false information. thus...beginning the crumbling of that BS empire!
