  1. this is usually the case, but if cleveland is pretty sure buffalo will stink this year, next year's pick could be a top five pick for them. it is an intriguing question, and i think it would come down to how much of a gambler their gm is.
  2. if the rookie qb is in and looking good, and maybe the pats are finally on the downside of the dynasty, then i think it has a chance to get loud and wild. we all want to beat the pats more than anything, and to do it on a monday night, after hours of tailgating? and it is the Halloween game...so there is that added bit of craziness. could be fun. (if the pats are still the pats*, then it could be disastrous. especially if the rookie growing pains are in full swing, or if mccaron is playing and everyone is screaming for the rook)
  3. that was subtle. but it made me laugh. thank you for that. i was going to ask if Lamar was a "kitten" magnet, and maybe he stole the op's lady?
  4. i would definitely like to see them take a stab at a talented wr. they signed a couple linemen in fa, so at least there is competition. but so far we have re-signed jeremy kerley and kailen clay. another young buck with some speed would be nice. (i would like to see some more offensive linemen come in to battle it out too, but i am also wondering if john miller can resurrect his career this year)
  5. i agree. somebody should start a poll!
  6. price gouging and big sales are losing ground to the edlp. people are shopping the supermarkets for the weekly specials, then going to their local supercenters or dollar stores to get the rest of their supplies.
  7. Clive Barker's Imajica. i must have read it a dozen times. it is a sci fi/fantasy. absolutely enthralled, every time i pick it up. The Dragonlance Chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. incredible characters and wonderful storytelling in the fantasy genre. if you like these then there are many subsequent spinoffs. some good, some amazing.
  8. the job will not allow it. damn the man!
  9. i could be talked into any one of these quarterbacks, because they all have potential. i am just prepared to lose my voice from screaming with excitement when the commish gets up to the podium and announces we have taken a qb!
  10. i think we, as fans (most of us), will show patience for the rook. as long as he shows flashes of greatness, we will be just fine. we know this team has holes to fill, and needs to surround the qb with more talent. we also know that it will take a bit of time to get acclimated to the NFL. i am a Billiever, and i trust the process.
  11. and he is stinkin' rich and doesn't even like football! he was sent by the hoodie to destroy us!
  12. at this point i think you go young, hungry, and cheap. get a guy that is chomping at the bit to make his mark. older receivers with a familiar name are probably not the best plan. but, i've been wrong once or twice before.
  13. indeed. despite having been " exposed" during his tenure here in buffalo, tyrod has many strengths and is a great guy to have on your team. if the OC is willing to design an offense that is suited towards his strengths, there is no reason that they cannot succeed. especially with the talent that the browns seem to be accumulating. and i still wish him nothing but the best.
  14. it will all come down to what teams view him as as a passer of the football. a mobile qb is a wonderful thing, but accuracy and ball placement are what will win you the big games. that's why we have been hearing the new catch phrase "winning from the pocket". jackson could be amazing. if he can be successful slinging the ball, and use his legs in advantageous spots, he could be absolutely lethal.
  15. tennis may be a good thing to have in the repertoire. he would have the hand'eye coordination to drop balls in tiny, tiny windows.
  16. don't worry...one more week. then i'm sure that nobody will post anything that makes your head spin.
  17. i like that they are looking at the TE position. clay is great when healthy, o'leary is coming into his own. but i have always been an advocate for stocking up on TE's. this guy specifically? i don't know. but i would love them to load up on pass catchers for the new qb.
  18. i agree with this statement. fred was never the fastest guy on the field. or the strongest. certainly not the best athlete. but he was determined. fought for everything he got. gave everything he had. and was the heart and soul of this team for years. he was a great all around back. respectfully, i disagree with this. i think freddy was more than just a sentimental favorite. he was the exemplary overachiever. he and kyle williams are basically folk heroes. those two go up on the wall for what they meant to us, the fans, as much as for what they did on the field.
  19. he always struck me as a good kid. seems very positive and energetic. i really hope he can find his groove this season. i will be rooting for him. waves of defensive ends crashing the qb! keep them fresh, good strategy.
  20. no...his head is disturbingly large. i has to be to hold not just his vast football knowledge, but also his incredible pompousness. it might just be me, but he definitely strikes me as one of the douchy antagonists named "Biff" or "Chaz" from those bad 80's ski movies. you know, the guy with the sweater tied around his neck?
  21. the peterman quote is dead on. accuracy is most important. velocity is important because between the release and the target, there are insanely talented defenders. and you need to sling that ball to the receiver before they can get their grubby little hands on it.
  22. and i will be right there with you. i am a Bills fan for as long as they are the Buffalo Bills, and i will support whoever they put in a red, white, and blue uniform. but doing everything you can to get the guy that you want at the most important position in the best game in the world (well, minus that whole futbol thing) is pretty damned exciting! (and if we stay put then i will love all the talent they surround the new qb with)
  23. i am usually against trading up, especially when burning up so many assets (allegedly). however, the qb position defies all logic. if there is a guy you want, and view him as a cut above the rest. do whatever it takes to grab him. it could be the difference between roethlisburger and losman.
