Front Seven projections?
swnybillsfan replied to The Now Moment's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
also a huge character guy, mentor, leader, and definitely a "coach on the field". i like having this guy on the team. -
i am really interested to see what they end up doing with Siran Neal. his versatility is rather intriguing. i wonder if maybe they are going to create a Bryan Scott type role for him.

So why was Leonard Johnson not resigned?
swnybillsfan replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is probably about right. i think they may have wanted to go younger, faster, and cheaper here. and the guys they still have on the back end seem to have a good chemistry and plenty of veteran presence and leadership. -
i really think rosen turns a lot of people off by not being all about football all the time. it's as if he really likes football, and wants to be great at it, but it is not the all encompassing, be all, end all. i think that for him, it is a piece of his life, and not his whole life. i really believe that most football guys are going to want a guy that eats, breathes, and craps football. and i don't think that rosen it that guy. having said all that, i loved this kid and wanted the bills to grab him. but i am all aboard the josh allen train now!

Nice Article on Austin Proehl
swnybillsfan replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sounds like the kid is humble and driven. i like that combo. i have always wanted one of these smaller, shifty WR's to work out. maybe this is the guy. i will be rooting for him. -
isn't that Quinn Early's nephew? i think he went to the South Hampton Institute of Technology. always the first guy in the building. broke the record for off side penalties in a single season. and is the school's all time leader in that category as well.

one of my favorites as well. nicely done!

they are definitely implementing their system, with their guys. there is a certain make up they are looking for in their players. and i think most of the guys they have kept, and all of the guys they have picked, have this. last year and this year are the foundation and the frame work. next year, when we have all that cap room AND our full slate of draft picks (thanks to using this year's draft capital and saving next year's) i think we will be looking at a serious contender.

Edmunds lined up under center at the 6 inch line...4th and goal...i would kinda like that. or maybe kyle and harrison lined up behind edmunds!
-
i will also be interested to see if miller can bounce back. and i really like the teller pick. the knock is that for whatever reason, he was not himself this year. if anyone can reach him, i billieve it is McDermott...the coach. McDermott the ot intrigues me because he is friggin' uuuuuuge!

What This Draft Taught Bills Fans
swnybillsfan replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i very much agree with all of this. and as far as #2 goes...it seems like this year they really swung for the fences with their trade up/picks in the first round. both guys seem to be "process guys", but both guys also have that "holy crap, if it all comes together, this kid is gonna be a friggin' stud!" thing going for them. -
you posted this as i was typing my comments.

i think this has something to do with it. and also, i think siran neal could end up being a hybrid player for them. drafted as a safety, but has played corner and linebacker. good size. i assume he is a pretty good athlete. he could be a part of some three safety packages, where the third safety plays up in the box. possibly even some additional pass rush from different spots? plus, i don't think this is anywhere near a completed roster yet. i firmly believe the jump is coming next year, with another draft, and the cap room that will be opening up. it's all part of the process.

RD 5, Pick 166: Wyatt Teller G - Viginia Tech
swnybillsfan replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hopefully McDermott will be able to connect with this kid and get that effort level back up. i like the pick quite a bit. -
i definitely thought it was a possibility. but hell, there was a time i was hoping ryan nassib would still be there for us at 8! did you just pull a Snatch quote? if so...cheers!

Current Bills on Chopping Block

Barry? i never liked that guy. do you think he can still play? -
Current Bills on Chopping Block
swnybillsfan replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i was wondering if washington could be used to try to trade for a position of greater need for the team, since it seems that we now have more depth at the dt position. kind of a depth swap with maybe a receiver heavy team? i was thinking they would want to keep and develop peterman as a backup, and try to flip mccaron for a pick or player if he does well or if allen looks good enough to take over in the near future. -
Opinions on why we passed on Rosen?
swnybillsfan replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think this is it. Allen has the advantage in all the measurable categories, and i think they love his attitude. he also seems intelligent. coming from a farm family and knowing all about hard work is probably also a positive. he seems very aware of the areas he needs to improve in, and i would bet that in the meetings with the team, he seemed very genuine, coachable, smart, and ready to get after it. he has the qualities you can't teach, and i bet the staff believes they can correct the weaknesses. -
Harrison Philips interview
swnybillsfan replied to Bills4life1924's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Harrison strikes me as a guy that this fanbase is going to love. that whole "can't wait to play in the NFL so i won't have to hold anything back" sentiment will go a long, long way. -
could the curse finally be lifted? will the sports gods embrace us once more?

Josh Allen Background Video Stories
swnybillsfan replied to aceman_16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
so...Allen being a "california kid" is equivalent to Buffalo being NYC? i think the positivity will start to surpass the negativity for the most part. this guy seems like a good kid. he's got the tools and he is going to work hard. people are going to want him to succeed. people will Billieve! -
i think this is adding to the framework of the foundation laid last year. the qb and the lb are what this regime considered "must haves", cornerstones for the future. next year is where it gets interesting. coach has tweaked his staff, and they will implement an offense closer to what the head coach's vision is for this team. the guys get one more year in the system (and the rookies from this year get acclimated). next year though...beane has retained ALL picks for next year's draft, and the team will have a ton of cap space to lure free agents to come play for a team with direction, focus, a young stud qb (hopefully), and a defense that could also be on the rise. my glass is half full of some very, very good stuff!

don;t get me wrong, i wanted jason peters off my team because of the contract thing. i was hoping the door didn't hit jairus byrd on the way out. i was ready to cut kyle orton for turtling two yards before the first down marker. and i was pretty disgusted by stephon gilmore trying desperately not to break a nail on route to signing a huge contract elsewhere. but any guy on my team that is giving his all...nothing but support and respect from me.
