McCarron starts preseason game 2
swnybillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i am hoping that Allen gets the second and third quarters with the two's. it would also be cool if Baker would do the same. -
i think this is exactly right. the problem here is when we are losing, i have had a few beverages, and i start yelling at the tv. i know this is the right course of action, but it may be very hard to take if the offense becomes stagnant at any point. if we are going to struggle, i will want to see the kid sling that ball. but i also believe that once you put him in, he is in there for good, there is no going back.

i find myself agreeing with the "i NEED more Allen" crowd here. he was far from perfect, but he was fun, exciting, and showed all the reasons that one would be hopeful for. he showed the ability to make throws that so many quarterbacks just physically cannot make. there was a little bit of fire, and a whole lot of effort from him. i liked what i saw in the debut, and can't wait for the next installment!

i believe this to be very true. it sure is. and we all have different motivations for doing our jobs, and put in varying degrees of effort. -

yes, yes he certainly did. or does. but i think Mario was always a hot and cold player. more talent than desire...by a lot. if he had a motor like kyle williams he would have been the best to ever play the game. but i don't think that was ever his goal. -

i think most people that get the big money are also driven by the competitive nature and the burning desire to be the best. to make it to the hall of fame. to be immortalized among their heroes. it's not just the money. it's the glory. -
very much the same at the show at Darien Lake. complete mission to rock their set as hard as possible with no messing around. no encores, no breaks. i think with a show and venue like that it was all business during an allotted time. they came. the rocked. they kicked some serious @$$!

Interesting Astro Tweet re: Beane

i would consider it both. it was incredible that he chose Buffalo. then the contract was such that he could never be worth the money. there were amazing games and baffling disappearances. he was incredible with schwartz, horrible with ryan. he was quirky when we were successful, and a disgruntled diva when we weren't. it was the very definition of a "mixed bag". -
i will be hitting 43 later this year, and the last show i saw was TooL in pittsburgh in 2002 or 2003. i have always loved metal music (not that burp metal that the Barbarian listens to) but as i get older i keep thinking that the only bands i would want to see, i am too damn old to go see! but this show was great. very relaxed throughout most of the day, and then got more and more intense as it went on. as yo said, all bands really brought it! it was pretty obvious that they had all been doing this for decades. and metal heads are much like Bills fans...bat crap crazy, but mostly friendly and good at heart. but going to this show really, really, REALLY made me want to get upi to the Ralph (i don't think i can ever call it New Era Field) and do some serious tailgaiting!

i actually winced at that. absolutely horrific!

it's quite a few days after the show now, but i gotta say, i loved it! Anthrax was a lot of fun. Napalm Death was really good (though i really knew nothing of them) and Barney was pretty funny talking in between songs. Testament was fantastic, they just sounded great. Lamb of God was incredible. and while i was never a huge Slayer fan, they sure made a believer out of me. they were Phenomenal! and the crowd was great all day and into the night...until Slayer came on. that's when the people that head been power drinking for 12+ hours came in and made the world their mosh pit. it was insane, but never out of control. loved it. five days later and i still don't have my voice all the way back. ps...paying $12/beer when i have a cooler full in the parking lot sucks!

Peter King at Bills Training Camp - Video
swnybillsfan replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
everything in that report seems to line up with the local reporting. i guess i just really like the McDermott culture. hope we get all the right guys buying in. And may the best qb win! -
thanks Gug. i am very curious about this show. i know almost nothing about Napalm Death. Lamb of God is probably the heaviest band i listen to. and i kinda grew up with Slayer, Anthrax and Testament. i hop that Tom Araya still has his Santa Claws beard going, that is just too funny...Santa cranking out some evil thrash tunes!

i am going to this show friday night at Darien Lake. i have a feeling this is going to be the "i'm too old for this ****" concert. still love the music, but there is no way i can survive a mosh pit, or a circle pit, or any other kind of pit.

Zay Jones Impacts Local Family
swnybillsfan replied to thenorthremembers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Zay Jones maybe showing the character that made him McDermott's second pick? i great gesture by the young man. Stay classy TBD. -
Khalil Mack holding out... in Buffalo
swnybillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i wouldn't go for Mack. he is a fantastic player, but i want to build an offensive juggernaut. i would like my defense to be just good enogh not to lose championship games. get me some serious offensive talent. -
i can't even download the radio.com app. it says my phone is not compatible with the app. which sucks, because i drive a lot for work and it was nice to listen to the on demand playback from the wgr app. i can listen through the website, but it seems to need about 99% of my phone's power to do so.

LAMP: Cardale Jones last night (nice guy)
swnybillsfan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
my daughter met him the year he was drafter at the Kiss the Summer Hello concert at Canalside. she got to go rub elbows with some Buffalo Bills and some of the musical guests in the vip tent when she did the Bald for Bucks thing. she was more excited about megan trainer and a bunch of people i had never heard of. but she got her picture taken with Reggie Ragland, Adolphus Washington, and Cardale Jones. -
despite the family atmosphere (perceived or otherwise), this is still a professional sports team, and a business. every year the team is different. but it's the core group you have to hope buys in. if they buy in, and perform well, then that can be huge. all the other role players, and the narratives around them, change. and sometimes a few of us wacky fans make a bit more of it than what is there. anyway, i really like seeing that kind of enjoyment from the players.

i would vote for the seemingly innocent 12-15 yard pass to Brandon Tate (i believe) when the sideline blew up . that was pretty well representative of the season. but between the two choices given, gotta go with Kyle. this past season really solidified his place in the hearts of Bills fans. we have always love to root for him. great guy, great story...but this past season he kinda rounded that corner towards "Buffalo Bills Icon".

WGR is ditching its App for Radio.com
swnybillsfan replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
radio.com app is still not compatible for download with my phone. anyone else having this problem or am i just using the first ever non flip phone? -
that's why you bring them BOTH back. and bring back Chan as the run game coordinator. and i guess curtis modkins as rb's coach?
