  1. bowe would be nice. i would like a qb. alex smith if going the free agent route or drafting glennon or geno smith. then maybe look to bolster the lb's go after maybe a combo of bringing in a veteran and drafting one.
  2. sj13 is tearing it up this season, he's pretty much the only wr that is consistently catching anything. i love that he seems to be one of the few players playing like they want to win. its a pass heavy league but does that mean that getting 1000 yards rushing is a bigger deal? both stats are equally impressive. if it wasn't every team would have 2 or 3 guys who've managed to do it.
  3. not feeling a usc qb they haven't had a great track record in the nfl in the last 10 years or so
  4. please the decision has already been made. blow outs in either direction won't mean anything. chan is either done the first day of firings or hes around for another season. 2 games aren't going to make the difference.
  5. wake the dead- comeback kid This is our city of the dead Another life holds it's weary head We hope, we try, we live, survive Counting days, trying to get by Waiting for the calling Anticipation in the air We hope and dream of difference City sleeping, unaware Break the silence, wake the dead Running through these streets alone I'll kick and scream, let's break the hold 'cause I swear, and this won't render useless I promise you, we've come this far And I'm not stopping, I'm not stopping now I'm not hiding in shadows Wake up, Send out this message, it's clear You said, you said, you said This time was gonna be different Wake up the dead Coming alive, something stirs inside This isn't over yet Shake off the dirt Swallow regret Stop living under the weight Living under the weight of regret Your regrets Don't lose hope Don't let it happen to you Don't lose hope Which side are you gonna choose? 'cause I believe, I believe it's in you. Rise! We said, we said, we said This time was gonna be different Wake up the dead
  6. i've found the players page on nationalfootballpost.com to be pretty good at analyzing the play as well. i really like this kind of in depth stuff. i often times look for this kind of stuff while watching games. that's why a few years ago i watched a lot of packer games, dom capers does a pretty good job with blitz packages. i noticed again ari that wanny used some of these strange packages but then back off them.
  7. what are you talking about? he is going to be a beast his contract year and on his next team
  8. if they do it i'd be fine with it, if they don't its not a big deal. tebow is polarizing, he does have some tangible skills but he doesn't have the arm strength. wait don't they say that about fitz (lol fitzgibbons)? i don't know if they will do it after all they have a wild cat qb......unless there is a super quintuple reverse that involves all qbs on the roster! in that case make it happen. i can't see that failing ever!
  9. he would line up on the line often standing, much like clay matthews does in GB. he was and is primarily a pass rusher. using him at a lb would be pointless as he would just be pass rushing. kirk morrison however should be playing lb. merriman just needs to make a couple of plays
  10. oh yeah and if you don't understand how important a wrist is to a de
  11. i think he is actually injured. the surgery will not help him immediately. the thing is you watch his form in previous years and notice how his arm movement is key. he doesn't use his swim move effectively this season. sure against scrubs the guy can switch up his technique or just use pure speed. however that's worthless against a semi competent player. even on the few plays where he has switched sides on the line he is unable to make the kind of moves that he had previously made. just compare the game footage its pretty easy to see. the thing is he is on track to having a 10 sack season. which would be pretty good. the defensive game plan however he can't do a thing about.
  12. i thought moore is looking like he should be starting. i noticed over the last 2 games he got pressure and did ok on containment. but you can see he's trying to prove that he wants to play. if players don't have their head in the game of have some kind of mysterious injury then bench them until those problems are remedied. there will always be another guy who wants to play. i will go play if they'd let me. let the people who want it play. just because a player has a huge contract doesn't mean he should automatically get the slot. but i also think this goes on coaching staff. if they can't motivate players then what are they doing?
  13. if it helps him get on the field and play like he is supposed to be playing then i say go for it. it also removes any excuses he might have going forward.
  14. i like it, i wonder if there would be some kind of naming rights deal. or would it be the ralph 2 until ralph is no more.
  15. i am reminded how bad the 49ers were when they did the spending spree a few years ago. it took some time for that team to get it together. i don't think that firing wanny will really do anything. i think the defensive players need to realize they are being made to be a joke. yeah i'd prefer a defensive coach who'd live and die by the blitz. but i've always liked that approach. i don't think there is a good defensive mind out there right now who wouldn't want to switch the scheme back to a 3-4. the talent is there, the scheme is weak, you can't just use a nickel d on everything. which was weird because against ari there were all kinds of variations that were used. i think its that wanny coaches too conservatively. he doesn't want to get embarrassed and then does because the defensive scheme is too weak.
  16. yeah you know its funny how this team has had worse starts. but it doesn't matter. do i think they will win the next 2 games? i am happy when they do better than winning only 2 games. which is exactly what they did the first year i watched them. picked up what was supposed to be an amazing defensive player, had a couple of players who were supposed to be amazing and yet they only won 2 games. sure its not fair to compare that team with this one. seeing as that team didn't do much for a couple more years. and the current team has already won more games. 85 was a rough year.
  17. its not looking good here. the defense is a mess, kelsey gets through but is often the target of where to run at. mario is showing us his best albert haynesworth impression. i've always been a fan of having a defense that is too agressive. seeing as that hasn't been the case in quite a while, i think as wanny you have to think, well i am about to get fired i might as well try to put together something good for my next team. open up the blitz packages, get on the sidelines, and get fired up about things. even if the defense is getting killed because of blitzes its not like they can't fall any further than the worst rank defense in the league.
  18. run the ball, when the safeties cheat up throw the deep pass. the run the ball when the safeties drop back. or if we look at what most teams have done this season, whatever they want. i'd mostly run directly at kelsey, there is always a huge hole wherever he is.
  19. there is a lot of talent on this d. wanny is still tinkering with the game plan. i thought that moving mario around was a good idea, even some of the strange formations used were pretty good. i remember one where no one had their hand in the dirt and it was a 5 man rush. though 6 or 7 were on the line/faking blitz. wanny took that very vanilla nickel scheme and made changes, i like that he made some changes to the over all game plan. i am interested to see if he is still willing lean heavily on the nickel formations or if he's going to run more of different looks. gilmore seems to be handling man coverage its the other defensive backs that seem to have issues, usually against the slot reciever and TE. having a lb cover the opposing teams #1 wr is never good news. that has to be accounted for.
  20. nope he hasn't been relevant in years, hasn't produced a winner in years. i don't see the point of bringing him in at all.
  21. i noticed that and thought it was pretty awesome.
  22. its tough to see, but most sources seem to think that's what happened. carrington is having a pretty good year when he get his reps.
  23. pretty much thought this is and was a good idea. not shocked it happened.
  24. i knew this would be the case as soon as anderson was injured
  25. he's pretty good, i say pay the man. but mid season extensions seem to be trouble
