DE Mark Anderson in Buffalo (SIGNED)
Calgary_JG replied to SKRAAPY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL! F5 haha! I know Buddy said he wanted to be done by last Friday but he also had a quote about how they would be patient with free agency and could find some value like they did with Nick (it will be told that he will be the real saviour of the Bills) Barnett last year. This screams like the perfect deal, you get quality depth a bit later in FA. Not to mention how awesome it would be to scoop a real producer from NE. There have been very few weeks in the past 18 years that a Bills fan could walk around like they owned the joint. I love this! Git 'er done Buddy!! -
Nix on PFT live: Spiller & Jackson to compete
Calgary_JG replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Run DMC was considered a bust in his first two seasons and broke out in his third. I'm thinking Nix and Gailey have that in the back of their mind and they're going to do their best to give Spiller the chance to prove himself. It sucks for Freddie b/c he showed last year that he may be the best RB in the NFL. I'm hoping that Gailey finds a way to make them both successful...imagine two 1000 yrd RBs in the Bills' backfield.... -

Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill
Calgary_JG replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just as an update - ESPN reported at 10:58 PM ET that Mario Williams is staying in Buffalo another night. This was first reported in the early evening, were they waiting to see him go to bed to be sure? And better than that, it's an AP report, not a word of anything from James Walker. In case you were wondering though MIA signed a no name DB...big news. TG's all over this on twitter...jus sayin' Here's hopin for some good news tomorrow! Go BILLS!!!! -
Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill

I'm actually watching the Sabres game in hopes of seeing something happen. Although a COL loss would help my Flames a bunch. This has got to be the longest FA visit in history... -
Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill

Just wanted to be part of this, I was following all day at work but couldn't log it there. This is by far the best thread I've been part of! I left work to the report that he was on his way out of town tonight but come home to him staying again!! I love this...if he ends up at the Sabres game everybody better start a Mario chant -
you have to understand that a prerequisite to being a Toronto sports writer is to be as negative as possible. I'm sure these guys weren't hugged enough as a child or something but if you think sully is negative, there are about 30 of these idiots in toronto who try to out do each other. it's best just to ignore it all

I didn't realize that CIN was 4-2 until reading something about the Palmer trade and it occurred to me that the Bills have played an incredibly difficult schedule thus far in the season. The record of the teams we've beaten is a combined 13-10 and the two losses are a combined 8-4. Add it all up and the teams we played through to the bye are 21-14 or about a .667 win pct. To be 4-2 through that stretch and to have lost two games we should have won feels pretty damn awesome. Remembering how Chan got the team focussed through the bye week last year gets me pretty revved up for the next 10 games. GO BILLS!

The Fairmont Royal York is a sweet hotel and isn't as pricy as it sounds. It's about three blocks from Rogers Centre. The Renaissance Hotel is the hotel in the Rogers Centre.

I just saw a Larry Fitzgerald "catch" that was wayyyyyyy more incomplete than Stevie's today. (the jump ball on a 48 yard gain in the third quarter if anybody wants to check it out). I would love to see the league compare these two and explain how one is a catch and one isn't. At least it took the sh*tty blind refs to cost the Bills this one.

That was the worst call I've ever seen in my life! somebody get me that ref's home address...

Can Bills fans survive losing a couple of games?
Calgary_JG replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A buddy of mine asked me if I thought the Bills could go 16-0 and I told him that the only thing the NE game proved is that the Bills can gameplan and hang with any team in the league. We're going to lose games this year and the sooner people realize that the better. Let's not forget 2003 when we were 2-0 and the national media was picking us for the SB and NE was a has been. The season's long so lets just buckle up and enjoy the ride. Go Bills!!! -
Check out the cover of Sports Illustrated

Don't forget that the mighty mighty Patsies have to see that...that they have to listen to how everybody loves the Bills on every national sports station...that's gotta be a blow to their egos -
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/15649376/power-rankings-elites-exposed-lions-bills-at-door I gather there will be more than a few confused power ranking writers this week trying to justify how to or how not to put the Bills ahead of the Patsies
-
17 seems to be the consensus except for on ESPN where we're 27th. I can't stand the power rankings because they mean absolutely zilch but I can't help but get a bit po'd by the ESPN one. Not because of the ranking, that's fine with me, but if you check out how they voted, stupid numbn*ts John Clayton (who apparently hasn't actually watched a football game in 5 years) had the Bills ranked 27 and KC 15. Like I said they mean nothing, but how do you justify ranking somebody 12 positions better in the league after they got their a*s handed to them by the team you think is 27th best and then go cash a big paycheck as a "senior correspondent"...! that really burns my furnace! Go Bills!

Finally got to watch the first half of the Jags game
Calgary_JG replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got to watch it last night too and I was impressed with Batten and Carrington at OLB. That play on Monroe was awesome, and Carrington had one where he sniffed out the cutback run and stopped it for a short gain. It seems to me that those plays went for big yards last year. I liked how Freddy schooled Poz on that long pass play, that sums up Poz, good...but not great. Enjoy it Jacksonville. I also liked Anthony Elzy. He picked up a ton of blitzes in the second half, I'd have to go back to count them all. Too bad he got the axe. -
At What Point Do Nix and Gailey Own This Team
Calgary_JG replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read the article and he makes some good points but the comments about dumping Walker and Captain Checkdown are a bit out of line. Those guys were underperforming and dumping Edwards actually made the Bills better. I also don't buy the argument of "well we might have done better had we had Lee Evans (or whoever)". In all honesty the Bills are not going to win this year so there isn't much point in overpaying for veteran players who won't be around in two years. To suggest that the owners are saying that they don't want to win is a bunch of bunk; however, having said that, when you don't invest in talent you end up 10 years without a playoff appearance. -
I thought of this too with the whole OLine shuffle. I mean if we're just trying things out we may as well give him a shot too. I've never been one to say that we needed to fix the OLine first as we had too many other holes to fill but now that the D seems to be on steady ground I'm glad to see that OBD is starting to pay attention to the OL. I think we're all kidding ourselves to think that that this season was going to show a lot of promise. Chix is still trying to figure out what they're working with. This is a 2012 project you ask me.

Two positions short of being a great team?
Calgary_JG replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, I think we should sign the OL from the AFC probowl squad this past year. Oh wait, that's right THEY'RE UNDER CONTRACT TO OTHER TEAMS!!! F8ck! I love the trolls on this board who think we need probowl players at every position or else we suck. There's a sh*t wack of talent on this roster. You're worse than those dolphags that were chanting for Orton last week -
Brad Smith...Update...signs with Buffalo
Calgary_JG replied to Mike In Illinois's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely LOVE this move...take a playmaker away from the JOKES, get a guy who can actually be your #3 QB but is awesome in the return game and lining up on the field???? I'll take that deal anyday. I remember him burning us too many times to not like this move. The Bills for too long have not had talented players on the roster, this is awesome! If we add an OT and a TE this offseason will go down as one of the most exciting in recent memory -
Schefter Reporting on Some Cuts
Calgary_JG replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Todd Heap got the axe today too... There seems to be some good talent available. I like the idea of moving Wood to C and getting a good interior lineman. That and a TE...I guess we'll find out soon enough -
Owners tried to slip things by the players
Calgary_JG replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw an interview with Josh Cribbs and it was basically the same thing. Rich Eisen (I'll give him his props) actually questioned him and didn't just coddle him like usual, but Cribbs had no answers. All he did was say "it's a process" a thousand times. I guarantee De Smith and the rest of his crew told the players to fan out and spread the message that any extension to the lockout is not the players' fault so they come up with this "they tried to slip this stuff in at the last minute" garbage. I'm impressed with the comments on here and how they're not all anti-owner like in the past. Smith negotiated this agreement and now the players seem to be trying to save face almost to not make it look like the owners "won". Come on guys, let's get down to football. GO BILLS!!!!! -
“The people making the rules at the NFL are idiots”
Calgary_JG replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love the hypocrisy from the players on this one...they refuse an 18 game schedule saying the owners don't care about their safety but when rules are instituted to keep players safe they say "I'm a football player, don't tell me how to play football"...morons.
