Thanks as always for a great write up. Really enjoy these.

What do I know about anything, but healthy or not, I cannot remember ever thinking that Edwards had potential to be a great qb. I honestly can't think of one game where he showed that sort of potential, outside of maybe that KC game a couple years back that ended that losing streak.
But, that's just me. I hope he improves like hell under Gailey, but I just don't see it.

Tim,
On behalf of all of the Buffalo Bills fans that don't have schizoid paranoia and are fair and reasonable minded individuals, I'd ask you to reconsider. People with myopic viewpoints and egocentric beliefs that they are "entitled" to certain information are the minority here, not the majority. I think the majority of us realize that you have a demanding career with insight and information the general public is not privy to and we respect the demand on your time, not just professionally but personally. And that every minute you spend here on this message board, is a minute you could be spending somewhere else; on another PUBLISHED and PAYING story or column, with your family, fishing, BBQing with a beer, or whatever you do in your free time and that we appreciate whatever valuable information you're able to provide. It's the rare few that for whatever reason feel that they "deserve" some explanation. I don't want to over-step my boundaries here, but on behalf of many BILLS fans I want to thank you for your perspective and tell you that what information you can share is more than we'll get anywhere else.
I realize that in your profession you need to be thick-skinned regarding your opinion, but I apologize for the dopes on this board that challenge your reported facts. I absolutely love the Buffalo BILLS, but many of their decisions over the last few years have left me very frustrated, and I believe that much of that frustration has come to a swirling frenzy of shared delusions that have bonded many people together in cyberspace on this board....but no excuse, your integrity should not have been challenged...I humbly ask you to retain your interest and occasional input on this board and hope that you can continue to provide facts and opinions for the future: both are valued for different reasons, both have space on this board, and both should be shared regardless of the relegated few who only represent the fringe of Buffalo fans. No matter what, thanks for your time and efforts.
Matt in Utica
What he said. Thanks Tim.

This is seriously unbelievable. I think I mentioned on here the day Jauron was fired how much I wanted Marty. He was the perfect coach for us.... perfect coach for Buffalo weather. Perfect coach for a small market team. A Buffalo guy. A tough guy. A winner. Best friends with the new GM, with the same philosophies on how to win and build a team. And most of all, a good, respected coach who WANTED TO BE HERE.
But old, cheap, senile Ralph Wilson "wasn't comfortable with him." UNBELIEVABLE. Seriously, unbelievable. Pathetic. A joke.
Whatever you want to call it... even if Gailey does well... just terrible. Totally, utterly, as the internet kids say, EPIC FAIL. I'm such a big homer that I convinced myself that Gailey might be the right choice. I'm such a big homer that I truly believe the games in Toronto are just to create extra revenue so that they can stay in Buffalo. I'm such a big homer that I still think JP Losman will be good. But holy crap... at the moment, this one seems unforgivable.

It breaks my heart that he could have been a Bill.
I know it's cliched to say this, but if we had drafted him he would have been forced into early action with no talent around him and no veteran presence to learn from, no matter how bad of a mentor Favre was. He wouldn't be what he is today in Buffalo. But he is a hell of a player.

I've always loved Warner. The Bible beating doesn't bother me although I understand why it would rub others wrong. But honestly, how many times a year do you hear it? Once? And thats when he does make the playoffs?
Mainly, he's a great guy, great story, and a total gamer. Hard to not like that combo.

Always really respected and liked Kurt Warner. With the retirement reports coming out, I hope he has one more run left in him.
-
I can't remember who was on FOX Sports Radio, either Glazer or Lombardi's kid, but they discussed him a few weeks ago and had nothing but glowing things to say about him. They had me convinced.

Holy crap, soprano!! My entire year is complete!!!!! Welcome back!
-
I'd rather have Marty, but getting either one would keep me warm in the offseason.
-
You know, it'd be really great to see how Brohm could handle playing in these conditions.

Right before the commerical they showed Freddy wearing the d-3 eyeblack again... did his appeal go through, or is he just giving a big f-u to the league? I hope it's the latter.

so JP was in for one play? That was as bad as Trent's series today...
He looked lost and almost took a sack but got it off in time. I don't think they wanted him in there as new as he was so they sat Russell for one play after the injury.
-
Frye out, Russell out... 2:26 to go...
Played one play. Incomplete pass then they brought Russell back in.
I did get excited seeing him come in though.

FWIW, Thurman's wife tweeted this during the game:
"Hmm my baby and Jim got dissed in the locker room, wonder by who "
So I guess Jimbo was there as well.

It SEEMS that Fitzpatrick throws to his wide receivers (i.e. Evans and Owens) more on average per game than Trent Edwards does. I also KNOW that Lee Evans has 2 touchdowns in 1-1/2 games with Fitzpatrick at QB. This SEEMS to be a better average per game than with TE. 2 touchdowns in 1.5 games roughly equates to 21 touchdowns over a full season, whereas 1 touchdown with TE over 4.5 games equals about 3.5 touchdowns for a 16 game season. It also seems that there isn't as much "checking down" with Fitzpatrick than there is with TE (see catches by running backs and tight ends). No, I don't think Fitzpatrick is the long-term answer at QB for the Bills, but I DO think that he gives the Bills a better chance to win week in and week out right now.
Agreed with all the "SEEMS"... although I guess perception is reality with some of the numbers that have been thrown out there.

I've been flipping around but from what I've seen Mike Williams looks pretty good; am I way off base? He is certainly as big of a frame as I remember him being, although not as overweight.

Come on Trent and Freddie...

Blue Throwback Freddie Jackson

What the f are you talking about?
I'm talking about that throw.

holy sh. if it's not losman/hamdan/wildcat time now, it's never going to be.
-
At least we now know one thing worse than last year's dallas loss... a wide right 47 yard field goal... that'll do it right there!
Amen. What a classic Bills loss.

OMFG
the fix is in after that call.

Could it possibly be that we took Spiller not for a need this year, but for the long term vision of our new front office?
