  1. The terms of this deal make it good, IMO. It's a hell of a lot better than giving deGrom a 5-year deal. Mets will be playing the season with a 40-year-old and a 39-year-old as their aces. I'd love if they could hang onto Bassitt and Walker.
  2. I feel like they surrounded him with talent and he was too wrapped up with being a star to actually work at being a good QB. I very rarely wish failure on anyone, but seeing this little prick crash and burn makes me chuckle.
  3. I was planning on watching Bad Santa 2 that night. Saturday night regular season games EAT D...!

  5. From what I understand, the income tax piece brings it very close to Scherzer money. Consecutive injury-shortened seasons also likely played a role in less money, too. Five years is insane. What the Rangers did is exactly what I didn’t want the Mets to do. I love Jake, but my main concern has not just been “injuries,” but the fact that it seemed like every injury was different. I’ve always thought that his build could never support him throwing 100+ MPH for any sustained period of time. When he’s healthy, he’s nearly unhittable. But the fact of the matter is that he’s only healthy for 50% of the season. I do agree that he likely wanted out of New York (city, not team), but this was a pure money move in the end, and I don’t begrudge him for that. It’s a business. It’s a shame, but I get it. Mets will be a better team for this. Rangers will, too, but how much? If - in all of 2023 - the Rangers win more than a dozen of his starts, I will be shocked. Cohen did the right thing by doing nothing.
  6. My reaction when I heard the news was, "F*CK!" But that is all sentimental. He grew up a Met and has earned a first ballot induction into the HOF. He's been nothing but a pure professional during his entire career and I've enjoyed every day of his tenure. But it's a business and the Mets letting someone else overpay him was the right thing to do. It's his last big contract and I don't begrudge him one bit. I'm glad he's in the AL and I hope he kicks ass. But with Scherzer in the rotation, it's time to get younger around him. It'll be a win-win for the Mets and for Jake.
  7. In which way are we talkin', here? Everyone knows I'm cheap, but I'm not sure what else you might have heard. Well ain't this cute? A Patriots fan telling me how bad it would be if the Bills bent the rules. Bless your little heart!
  8. I get it, man. But I'm not about to bust someone's balls for not wanting to pay $9 to watch a football game. The rich get richer ... NFL, Amazon, players ... and we're left paying to watch games on TV and paying hundreds of dollars to see a game live. I'm for the little guy.
  9. Alrighty, then. Welcome to the board, Mr. Bezos!
  10. It's wonderful to be here It's certainly a thrill You're such a lovely audience We'd like to take you home with us We'd love to take you home
  11. Here's my problem with how Josh Allen runs ...
  12. You're siding with Amazon on this one, eh? Amazon made $469.822B in 2021. I think they can do without the 9 bucks.
  13. Now THAT is a sincere apology!
  14. Yeah, I definitely agree with your reasons (practice and healthier defense); I just think Josh looked more "with it," last night than he has in the weeks since the Green Bay game.
  15. I know it's an unpopular/controversial opinion, but I do believe Josh Allen had been playing concussed since the Green Bay game and that he's finally cleared the cobwebs.
  16. Quite the investment for that Shark, too! Everybody wins!
  17. Pretty cool story, actually. They made their debut on Shark Tank last year and this is going to help them immensely ... https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/big-hat-company-noggin-boss-brian-robinson-josh-allen/fgoiqcjfffmkkwshzi7yw7xq What is the big hat company? The big hat company is called Noggin Boss, a Phoenix, Ariz., based company started in 2019 by Gabe Cooper and Sean Starner. The hats made at Noggin Boss are mostly customizable, with users starting with the color and size. Prospective buyers would then have the option to add a patch or customize the hat further. The patches do not feature any sports team logo, and instead are generic pictures like a shamrock, a flamingo, a lobster, #1 Mom, #1 Dad or others. However, the site shows fans wearing hats that feature sports logos like a Cardinals logo, 76ers logo and others, though those are not commercially listed on the site. Noggin Boss on Shark Tank NFL players wearing the hats in big spots have helped Noggin Boss take off, but the big boon for the company came when the Cooper and Starner appeared on the ABC show "Shark Tank" in 2022 to promote the product and attempt to get an investor. The two were able to get Daymond John to invest $50,000 for 30 percent of the company.
  18. Why are you even bothering with this guy?
  19. A noodle arm. An attitude problem. A special teams coach and defensive coordinator for co-OCs. A stupid first name.
  20. Yep ... which is a new development. I've been listening to albums in order with regular Amazon Prime for years. I can't even shuffle songs by one artist/group anymore. There have always been bands for which you needed Amazon Music in order to play an album. The Police is one. But I was okay with that, because I could just say, "Alexa, play the Police," and she would shuffle their entire catalog - so I had Police music for hours and didn't care that it wasn't a specific album. Now, I can't even do that. Now, she'll mix in "similar artists," which is a complete ***** joke.
  21. I did not. I did, however, pee at my parents' house and my girlfriend's apartment earlier in the day.
  22. I had limited time, pre-game, so I was not able to get takeout wings, which has been my M.O. for night games this season. I was, however, able to don me now my Bills apparel, order a pizza for takeout (this place is right down the road from my house and I haven't tried their wings yet - so I opted for the pie), grab the pizza, then shoot across the street to a convenience store only to buy a single can of seltzer. So the takeout pizza and the convenience store seltzer took the place of my normal wings/grocery store run. I have little-to-no doubt that my ingenious adjustments to my normal routine were rewarded via good karma. You're welcome.
  23. THREE CONSECUTIVE DECADES of having a first-ballot HOF QB and just two Lombardis. That almost sounds impossible.
  24. Such a beautiful, unique voice. RIP.
