The Bills beat the Bears because.... (karma reasons only)
Gugny replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
The only thing I can think of is that I was able to don me my Bills apparel and get to the grocery store before all of the Christmas Eve activity began for the day. Watched the beginning of the game at my house. Girlfriend and I headed over to my parents' at around 1:35. After Buffalo scored its first TD on the pass to Davis, I said, "I'm gonna take a quick leak before we leave," then I said, "maybe I should wait until Bass kicks the extra point .... nah, he's got this." When I came out of the bathroom to see the 7-6 score, that's when I knew that my actions were going to dictate what happened in this game. While we were packing up her car, I noticed that my Bills flag was laying in a bush; the wind had managed to pull the entire flag pole out of the holder. I said, "I'll get that before we leave." Well, I forgot. Then I forgot to text my son to ask him to fix it. I decided that I did not want to wear my jersey to my GF's family's gathering. At about 3pm, I changed into a flannel shirt and we headed out to her family's house .. about 15 minutes away. The game was blacked out on the NFL Ticket app, and my girlfriend has the lower tier of Sirius/XM that does NOT include the NFL stations. Luckily, we have a local FM radio station that broadcasts Bills games. At the point when we left the car to go inside, the Bills were winning, but not by much. Had they fallen behind, the jersey was in the car and I was prepared to change back into it. Get inside and the TV isn't even on. I wasn't about to ask them to put the game on when I was clearly the only one there who cared about it. I will say that nearly everyone was wearing a flannel shirt, so that was a good call. I listened to the game on my phone (quietly ,,, I put the phone, speaker side up, in my shirt pocket on the side of my good ear) via the Sirius/XM app. Of course, I sat next to one of the guys I'm more familiar with and his mouth went like a duck's ass. WOULD NOT STOP TALKING. So when he finally came up for air every couple minutes, I'd just put my phone to my ear to hear what was going on. The app also kept the score updated, so I knew the Bills were in control. My karma game was much like the Bills game. I did so many things that SHOULD have led to a loss, but in the end, I did enough (going to the market; watching/listening whichever way I could) to pull it out in the end. And it was all my pleasure! -
I would guess that I’ve been one of Síngletary’s biggest fans on this board since he was drafted. I think he’s been fantastic. I agree that he’s underrated. That said, money needs to be spent on the o line. Make the o line better, keep Cook as RB1 and get a lower-priced free agent vet to mentor/spell Cook. That’s just what I would do. Not saying anyone is right or wrong.

Oh, so do I. I just think there are certain things that need to be taken into consideration. High winds, sub-zero wind chills, expedited travel ... I think those are noteworthy factors. It was a team win. Josh made a couple bad decisions; there were lots of penalties; we turned the ball over three times ... and the defense made sure those turnovers didn't hurt us. Can we turn the ball over three times in a playoff game and expect to win? Likely not. But this wasn't a playoff game. The Bills ended up winning in a blowout. They still control their own destiny and have been the only team favored to win the Super Bowl since the end of last season. That's some good sh!t, man.

I remember when I used to focus primarily on the negative stuff. That's no fun. Three total TDs is what I choose to take away from yesterday. Yes ... they were sloppy. So what? They won by three TDs on the road, in freezing temperatures.

Hopefully the one who passed for 2 TDs and rushed for one more, yesterday.

Singletary should be gone. Don't give RBs big money. That's why Cook was drafted. Do it all over again in a couple years.

Christmas storm could be “Paralyzing” for Buffalo

Appreciate the updates from people living through it as it's happening. I wish the best for all of you. -
I think this rule is stupid. I hope he wins his appeal and they change the rule. Gambling is being shoved down our throats every time we turn the TV and radio on. Give me an effin' break.

Treatment of opposing team fans(your experience)
Gugny replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
I once went to a DEN/NYG game at the Meadowlands. As a favor to my Broncos fan friend, I agreed to wear an Atwater jersey so he didn't have to be the only one sporting Denver gear. The Giants fans near us were complete a-holes for the entire game. Telling us that we f*ck our mothers and our cousins. Calling names. It was non-stop. Went to the Bills at Jets back in the tuhROD era. All in all, the Jets fans around us were decent. There was one young punk Jets fan who kept being a dick. I ended up stealing the hat off of his head and he cried for security. Cletus and I were relocated, but not kicked out. Promo was sitting near us, too, but didn't get the hook. Only other road game was Bills in Cincy. Fans were fantastic and kind pre, during and post game. -
Opponents' 3rd and long scare anyone else?

If only the Bills had the mentality to win close games. Sigh ... -

It's happening across the NFL. 2022 has already seen more close games than any previous year. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/nfl-games-have-never-been-closer-heres-why/ When it comes to close contests, 2022 is shaping up to be an all-timer. So far this season, 92 games (90 decisions and two ties) have been decided by 6 points or fewer, the most through Week 14 in NFL history. To put that in perspective, at least half of all games played in nine out of 14 weeks were decided by 6 points or fewer. All these close games have led to some incredibly exciting finishes. The most recent example is Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s last-minute drive Sunday against the Houston Texans, a win that saved the Cowboys from the embarrassment of losing to a 17-point underdog. On Thursday in L.A., we were also treated to an improbable Baker Mayfield-led comeback against the Las Vegas Raiders — a win that came just two days after he joined the Rams. And there have been 75 more game-winning drives where those came from since the season started. In fact, teams are on pace to record 101 game-winning drives in 2022, 12 more than in any other season since the merger. And even after adjusting for the added games from a 17-week season, the pace is historic: The NFL is averaging 5.5 game winning drives per week. Mercy. -
Tampa Police: arrest warrant issued for former Bucs WR Antonio Brown

Like we've seen all too often, I fear this will eventually lead to something horrible happening and people saying that, "signs were missed." How this man can legally own firearms is beyond me. -
His explosive diarrhea game is legit.

Did anyone ever expect a man named Dakota to be an elite football player?

The one area where I feel like I might take too much time is the spices. They're never in any logical order and sometimes I get stumped. But I do try to make sure I'm not in anyone's way. Many times, there will be someone else having trouble finding a spice, so I'll tell them what I'm looking for/ask them what they're looking for so we can help each other out and speed up the process!

I'm pretty sure this is a SeaBiscuit quote.

I've gotten into the habit of quickly checking that the cart's wheels all work. If I have room, I'll check the alignment, too. I hate a cart that pulls to the left or right.

I know I am an outlier, but I have always loved Belichick's interactions with the press. -
I don't blame him for most of this year's fumbles. To your last question ... no - I don't think we've lost a game due to an Allen fumble. But to my earlier point, that's why I'm saying it's not necessarily a concern right now ... but giving playoff offenses extra chances isn't something anyone wants.
