My deep fryer has a little tap. I just save the container that the oil (I use peanut oil) comes in, let the oil cool overnight, then empty the oil from the fryer directly into the container. And that goes right into my recycle bin.

He had 1130 receiving yards in his final season with the Vikings. That's quitting?

I've got no problem with him leaving early. He knows that McDermott was just gonna come out and blah, blah, blah them to death. He also knows that piss poor coaching is the primary reason that his and Josh Allen's prime years are being wasted before their eyes.

What Would You Rather Do: Cris Collinsworth Edition

I also had to turn the volume down. He was unbearable yesterday. I would rather have Yoko Ono sing “Black Dog,” directly into my good ear for 4 hours straight than listen to Collinsworth call a KC game.- 68 replies

Bills/Chiefs Atlanta - Official ROLLCALL thread
Gugny replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm on record for stating that Mixon should never have been allowed to play in the NFL. My comment was specifically about the tearing up the ticket incident. -
I think now might be the right time to discuss Zay Jones' spiritual awakening ... Mark 14:51-52 “And a young man followed him, with nothing but a linen cloth about his body. And they seized him, but he left the linen cloth and ran away naked.”

Great memory!!!! I, like most, was never a Marrone fan. But the passion with which he discussed bologna in this interview is one of the greatest things I've ever read. https://www.espn.com/blog/jacksonville-jaguars/post/_/id/23749/doug-marrones-last-meal-bologna-and-cheese “And I always like bologna because bologna, you never have to throw it out. In other words, if it’s in the refrigerator and you get a little film on it, then you just fry it and it tastes just as good.” What a quote!!

Yeah, those 3 passing touchdowns and 352 passing yards really held us back.

A couple times/year, I get a serious hankering for bologna. I always get Old Neighborhood Beef bologna and always have it sliced thick. I've made plenty of fried bologna sandwiches, but never with onion and pepper. Say hello to my first bologna hankering of 2023!!!

It's really a shame when former bandmates end up estranged. It seems to happen quite a bit. Frey/Felder; Robinson brothers; Fogerty brothers; Bachman brothers; all of the strife between Van Halen ... the list goes on and on. And in the examples I wrote, the Robinson brothers are the only ones who seem to have mended ways BEFORE someone's death. I find it very sad.

Yeah, this is another great topic worth discussing. I think I might have started a thread about it a while back, but I can't be sure. Some bands just hang on too long. I think the Police did it right. They made an album that was half radio-friendly crap and half great Police tunes. They even began building up to that as far back as Zenyatta Mondatta with De Doo Doo Doo and Don't Stand So Close to Me; then with Ghost in the Machine with Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic. They just went all in with Synchronicity and I'm sure it was by design. They were at the top of the music world, playing Shea Stadium and then pulled the plug. And what's key is that they never recorded any new material and they didn't tour again for over 20 years. Toured a couple years, then POOF ... gone again. Not that I'm happy that Bonham died, but I am totally happy that Led Zeppelin stopped making new music. In Through the Out Door was not great, in my opinion. I can't even imagine what subsequent albums would have sounded like. Especially as the 80s were right around the corner. Lots of great bands .. U2, Rush, the Who, the Stones, Aerosmith ... they just didn't know when to quit. I actually think the Beatles broke up at the right time. Do I think they had a few more incredible albums in them? Absolutely. But I also think fans benefitted from hearing their solo efforts after the split. I also think they would have done something special had Lennon not been assassinated. But we'll never know, sadly.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! This sucks. RIP.

I know I won't sway you, but if I were to TRY ... I'd tell you to listen to their anthology in order. Like many (probably most) bands, the Police's most popular songs are not their best - by a long shot. I think Every Breath You Take is the worst song they ever recorded, but it's also their most successful single and many of the radio-friendly songs from the Synchronicity album were pretty crappy. They were able to meld punk, rock, reggae, ska and pop into their own genre. And they did it gradually. There are intricacies with the bass, drums and guitars that - if you really take the time to listen - are nothing short of mind-blowing.
-
They struggled to four touchdowns and two field goals after turning the ball over three times?

Incredibly well said and I agree with everything. I listen to the Beatles 365 days/year. Seriously cannot get enough of them. My love for them began when I was 8-years-old ... and I just turned 52. I still hear and appreciate new things, keying in on harmonies, guitar, bass and drums individually, every time I hear a song again. So many people opine that the Beatles are overrated. I am a firm believer that they are UNDERrated. Immensely talented in so many different, and often subtle, ways.
