"Music holds the secret, to know it can make you whole."

Well, GnR basically made one great album and that came out in 1987.

Never heard/heard of it. I just checked the site and the description (for others who may be interested) is: Channel 33 Hear the first wave of Alternative and New Wave from the late ‘70s through the ‘80s. From early U2 and the Police to Depeche Mode and R.E.M. That sounds great and I'll definitely check it out!

Frank Reich named new Head Coach of Panthers

Yeah, it's crazy how he couldn't make that offense work with Matt Ryan and Sam Ehlinger. -
In case anyone wondered - Kumerow had back surgery

So are we supposed to call you TBD Jesus now? -
Back when it first came out, I had a CD player/alarm clock. I had In Utero in the CD player and that was my alarm. Let me tell you ... the beginning of Serve the Servants got my ass up QUICK!
-
Thanks for saying this. I think, out of Bleach, Incesticide, Nevermind and In Utero ... In Utero was probably their most complete album. LOVED IT.

Yeah, I think Nirvana and Pearl Jam are absolute locks ... I really can't see how it could argued. After that, it gets tough for me.

On SXM, I listen to the Beatles Channel and Lithium about 90% of the time. Classic Vinyl, The Blend and Deep Tracks get some play, too. That's just about it for me, but I do dabble with other stations once in a while.

I think all of the bands mentioned in this thread will hold up, but not necessarily achieve lifelong legend status like the Beatles, Beach Boys, Zep, etc. I think Nirvana and Pearl Jam will achieve that status to the masses. The other bands like AiC, Soundgarden, Sublime, STP will always be in demand, too. Jane's is probably my favorite band from that era. In 20 years, I think Jane's fans will still be listening, but I don't think they'll be at top of mind for most when this kind of discussion takes place.

Yeah, but my point was that I was a fan of each when they first came out. Back then, the premiere classic rock station used to have a weekly segment on Mondays that showcased new music. It's where I heard both of them. I've seen Melissa Etheridge three times in three different sized venues. First time was at Albany Palace Theatre, which seats ~3k. My sister and I had 2nd row seats. That was when she was touring on her second album. She is fantastic in concert. I never actually got into the Indigo Girls after their debut album. But I still think they're great.
-
This is an entirely different genre than the topic at hand, but I will say that I was listening to both Melissa Etheridge and the Indigo Girls in 1989. Great stuff.

I think Foo Fighters were at their cheesiest early on, actually - even though they've always been awesome. Green Day's 90s stuff was gold, but yeah ... they definitely got weaker as they went on. Weezer, to me, has been consistent. Island in the Sun is super cheese, but it's almost tongue-in-cheek (and I love the song). NIN definitely gets points for being truly alternative. I feel good about my top 4. I usually flip flop with these kinds of topics, but - for my own personal taste - I can't see swapping any of my top 4 out. The 90s was a fantastic decade of music. I think the 80s were an incredibly underrated decade of music, too.

OUCH!! https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/colts-fans-start-petition-to-prevent-jeff-saturday-from-being-hired-as-head-coach/ With Saturday being included in the interview process, fans are taking it as an opportunity to have their voices heard. On Wednesday, Colts fans launched a petition on Change.org called "Don't hire Jeff Saturday as head coach." The petition currently has over 2,000 signatures. In addition to signing the petition, Colts fans are tweeting the hashtag #SaturdayLeave at team owner Jim Irsay in order to make their frustrations known.

As long as we give some of the best receivers in the NFL a 10-yard cushion/running start, there could never be enough playmakers to overcome a well-coached and well-prepared opposing offense.

Old Buffalo Bills Message Board

TBD is the only message board/fan site I've ever frequented. Lots of good posters seem to have made there way here from BBMB. -
MLB Hall of Fame Inductees to Be Announced Tonight (1/24/23) at 6PM

I agree that others were deserving of a unanimous nod prior to Rivera. I do think Rivera deserved to be unanimous. But the names 4mer listed EASILY should have been unanimous. You brought up Rickey and it immediately brings me to his career base on balls record being broken by that scumbag, Bonds. Rickey Henderson was an absolute ARTIST at the plate and on the bases. The walks he drew were because he knew the pitchers and he knew how to get into their heads. He actually created the walks. They were not gifts, like Bonds' were. That record being ruined pisses me off nearly as much as the HR records.
