  1. You're really good at following instructions.
  2. Agreed. And I also think that it was Marino who didn’t want any kind of significant run game, which if true, was pretty dumb. As far as the Bills go, the sooner Beane and McDermott (and the Pegulas) understand that defense doesn’t win championships anymore, the better off the Bills will be. Going into seasons planning on Josh and Diggs to somehow make this offense work deep into the playoffs has proven to be a pretty crappy plan. F*ck defense. Build an offensive powerhouse.
  3. Steve Young won the Super Bowl in his 4th season starting for the 49ers.
  4. My knock isn’t on Josh Allen.
  5. Most stupid name and logo in the entire league.
  6. We have an ECHL team here, locally. I actually went to a game about a month ago and had a great time. But I'm in no hurry to go back and that is primarily because I hate the cold. Park the car ... walk 10 minutes in the freezing cold. Spend a couple hours inside a cold arena. Walk back out into the freezing cold and get into the cold car. It's super affordable to go, but it's still not worth it to me.
  7. I think it's more likely (and accurate) to say that the Dolphins (as a team and an organization) underachieved during Marino's tenure after getting to the Super Bowl. And before anyone pokes fun at them or calls them out, this is exactly what we're seeing with the Bills and Josh Allen's tenure ... minus going to a Super Bowl.
  8. .076?? 99% of Hammer’s Lot is at .076 by 8:30am!
  9. I’ve actually spent time thinking about this one and I’ve landed on: “a hot dog is a taco.”
  10. I’ll give a proper response to this tomorrow, because this conversation infuriates me and I want to have a nice Sunday. 😂
  11. I think Pedro turned out to be a really good Met. I remember within days of him signing with NY, he publicly tried to lure Varitek to join him. Piazza was still our catcher, so that rubbed me to e wrong way (plus, I was never a Varitek fan, although him grabbing Alex Rodriguez by the throat is one of my favorite baseball memories of all time).
  12. They're trying to keep the paper alive.
  13. Unbelievable. Wow.
  14. This is one thing about which I've recently become far more cognizant. Although, I did give someone the finger yesterday because he was riding my ass as I slowed to take a turn, then he laid on his horn. So he deserved it. But it's something I try not to do. I've had a couple scary situations, one of which resulted in someone following me to a gas station (I eventually lost him). A road rage incident led to someone getting shot in our local Walmart parking lot late last year. That's scary. I need to be more diligent in refraining from the hand gestures.
  15. Back in 1983, my brother wrestled Jason Morris in a dual meet vs. Burnt Hills in Queensbury. Burnt Hills had another, even better, wrestler on the team named Jon Cardi. Cardi had my brother's number, so the QBY coach moved my brother up a weight class (maybe two) to avoid Cardi and face Morris instead. Cardi's mother actually called my brother the night before the match and warned him that Morris "knew karate," and told him to be careful. Hilarious in hindsight. My brother beat him, but Morris went on to win two state championships over the next two years. Great wrestler.
  16. I dealt with this daily for years. My vote is that it depends on my mood, but I would say that 90% of the time, I did whatever it took to keep them from merging. Connecticut and New Jersey license plates ... they had no chance at all of me letting them in.
  17. Our local paper began printing about an hour south about six or seven years ago. Pretty seamless for the most part, but if something happens to the presses, it necessitates someone locally to have to drive down to get whatever papers were printed prior to the press going down; bring them back up here; then (hopefully) go back down to pick up the rest of the papers after the press is fixed. Not great and it does impact home deliveries.
  18. I’m a fan of moving the chains.
  19. I was always a Franco fan. I don't recall clubhouse politics during his tenure, but I don't doubt it one bit. Leiter never bugged me, either, but I can definitely see how his personality can rub people the wrong way. When I think of Mets I didn't care for, the two names that immediately come to mind are Tom Glavine and Carlos Beltran. One more recent player would be Syndergaard. I think he really became a loudmouth as.shole during his last couple seasons.
  20. As a matter of fact ...
  21. Getting Hines on the field with the offense would be a nice first step. The way Beane pursued a pass-catching RB, and the subsequent underutilization in that role, indicates a huge disconnect between Dorsey/McDermott/Beane.
  22. Witten's piece was one of the worst, ever.
  23. Which is the other way women pee. It's okay, man. I don't judge.
  24. Well, "get off the pot," would mean one is ON the pot ... hence, sitting.
