Part of me agrees with you, but for the Eagles I will make an exception. I’ve never seen them live (and won’t, now that Frey has passed), but with them, I would totally appreciate the meticulousness of their harmonies - vocals and guitars. Overall, I do enjoy when bands do different things with their tunes live. I love it, actually. But I feel like I would be in awe of the Eagles duplicating what they did in the studio.

This, to me, is 100% spot on. Give him credit for helping to turn the Bills into a perennial playoff team. But when you’ve got one of the best QBs in the NFL, just getting to the playoffs does not define success.

I hear you. I do have empathy. But at the same time, at all levels of sports, when athletes don’t give it their best, good coaches sit those players down. I would have preferred that, that day.

They sucked because they didn’t try. That is different than getting your ass kicked by a much better team. I would have rather watched them get destroyed with backups who wanted to play, than to get beaten with starters who didn’t feel like playing football that day. I’ve never seen a team quit like that. Not even for the worst of coaches.

Athletes are humans who are paid quite handsomely to entertain. An entire team overtly quitting in an elimination game is totally inexcusable. There are leaders put in place to a) keep that from happening and b) address it when/if it does happen ... and that begins with the Head Coach. He gave them a mulligan because they were "mentally exhausted." That is pure crap. And it's horrible leadership.
